View Full Version : OFFICIAL NEW EPISODE DISCUSSION: "Clash of the Turtle Titans"
Mikey discovers someone has taken his old superhero persona, Turtle Titan.
My comments: I have a feeling I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but this one sounds like it could be lots of fun.

So Turtle Titan was popular enough that 100 years in the future there's an homage to him??? :ohwell:
Perhaps we'll meet the future versions of the Justice Force???

Here here. Please. When is it going to STOP?! Why, exactly, do we need another Mike driven ep?
The other ones weren't good, so we do more?
...I'm baffled by their logic. Really and truly. I want to talk with them to see just... why they make the decisions that they do. Turtle Titan was thankfully done away with in the 2K3 series. There is no reason to use these silly contacts to that series to try and remind people they are watching the same characters.

Who said Turtle Titan was officially done away with in Nobody's Fool??? He actually shows up in the Lost Season when the Justice Force decides they need new members...so they have some sort of audition thing and Mikey/Turtle Titan auditions to become a full member of the JF. (the ep has yet to air on On Demand)
And BTW... this ep (Clash of the Turtle Titans) airs on the 28th. while the Sho'konobo ep airs on the 21st.
Actually, I think that because it’s impossible to deny Turtle Titan’s kiddie-appeal, there’s less chance of people approaching it with the incorrect attitude. But, if they try to make it too silly (ala Disney), I’ll be disgusted. Do you remember that we all just sort of assumed that Turtle Titan was imaginary in the first ep? That’s what I remember. So, I’m just assuming this spin-off is a joint effort amongst the characters at serializing fictional or chronicling actual experiences of the Turtles. That’s why everything is so simplified. Isn’t it a dream of April’s to become a writer? And, I figure Mikey would love to try writing a comic sometime. Whether this assumption is accurate or not, I find it just makes things more tolerable. :D

I'm looking forward to this episode.
Really.
Guess I'm just odd or something. But it could be something interesting in my book.
Guess I'm odd too. I was looking forward to this ep, but then I remembered I'll be out of town next Saturday.
So maybe some kind soul will post a recap for me. :) *bats eyelashes*
Then maybe I can reenact my own version with sock puppets and pretend I was there.

Dispite how some people are treating Fast Forward I would still take it over Next Mutation or the Dreg seasons of the old shows. I mean yeah the episodes have not been great or even close to the level of the past four seasons but they are no Garbadgeman episodes ether.

Because it's a KIDS' SHOW.
So was the 2K3 Series, which just makes it all worse. So that's no excuse.
Trust me, no kids are THIS stupid. I know kids. I work(ed) at a school, and I still do. They hate this, too. Y'know how many kids talked about it when 2K3 was out? Y'know how many like it NOW?
You don't wanna.

I'd do it if I had a video camera. And socks. And, you know, talent.
What do you call a parody of a parody?
To reenact anything not involving sock puppets with sock puppets is a parody. FF is a slight parody of 2K3 such as Army of Darkness was to its prequels. So, your idea would be a parody of a parody. That's comedy genius (not "gold")! But, you and Aska would probably call it perverse. :sweatdro:

we really need to stay on topic.
Um... dude, we were back to talking about Mike and FF and its direction... we're not on topic for an episode of FF about Mike that hasn't aired yet?
ETA: it hasn't aired has it? lol... I'm all confused about airdates now.
It airs next Saturday. I believe we get a mystery rerun the following week. One site shows "No Episode Title", but Yahoo! doesn't even have TMNT:FF listed for that week. Unless it's "Bishop to Knight" or a later ep, it won't be worth my time.
I'd thank you, gobo, but I'm afraid that might be off topic. ;)
(kidding, PizzaPower)
Probably while I was posting that last bit of information, Yahoo! updated just to make a liar out of me. There's still no title for the following week's ep, but:
Episode #126.
Cody and the Turtles search for a rare lunar alloy on the moon; Inuwashi Gunjin is sent there to make sure that they do not return alive.
Original Airdate: November 4, 2006.
Tsst. Glad I didn't thank you then.
I see I'm not the only one who puts that obnoxious ! on Yahoo! references. Makes me wonder if you can legally add punctuation to your name. Could I be called "iris ... #@%#?!!" so that I have a name that's only properly pronounced when accompanied by the split-second-delayed angry shaking of a clenched fist? Can the ellipsis be my middle name, and frustrated outrage be my last name? I mean, Prince did it, but he's, you know-- *makes loony signal*
Unlike me, clearly.
So I wonder if Turtle Titan 2.0 will be human or alien... or turtle? Maybe it will be an alien dressed as a turtle. Maybe it will be a girl like Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica. :P
He looked humanoid in the preview.

From the preview, I'd say the new Turtle Titan is as much a turtle as Batman is a bat. Looks like they're going for a Batman setup, actually. It looked like the Turtle Titan Two was meeting Biggles on the roof of the police station, with the Turtle signal next to them :D
Yikes. I'm outraged on Mike's behalf.

What a waste of time. Pure fluff, no actual real story or real need for this episode.
Honestly, I was more worried about Biggles falling from the building than I have yet about any of the others. I like Biggles and Sterling... They're like actual ADULTS! Which is what this show needs more of; Grown up-like types that actually make sense. Since, obviously, even Splinter isn't in that role anymore.
I'm not sure why no one likes Biggles or Sterling; they are the big truth tellers in the series! And not awful childish fluffy exagerated characterizations that everyone else is now. Ugh. Who needs that kiddish crap.
Well, I gave it a chance. It sucked. I wasted a half hour of my life. Didn't smile once, nothing was funny. Mike was especially annoying. The new TT had it right. If that's how he's gonna be, I want no part of it.
Haha... well, yeah Mike was a total juvenile jerk for half the episode. The jealousy monster strikes! It was in character though (or rather, in line with 2K3 Mike).
I thought it was a great ep. I laughed a lot.
Triple Threat was an "amusing" supervillain. ;)

i liked the point in the bank when triple threat goes silent for a second so they could look at the comic book to see what to do next
The episode began back in 2K3. I was happy to see Hun and The Shredder again. The animation was great...just like the good old days. Then Fast Forward Mikey appears and takes me right out. This episode was filler, the next episode seems like a filler. This whole series seems like a filler. The Triple Head monster isn't a good villian. The last episode seemed like it would take Fast Forward somewhere but once again, one episode (or in FF's case, about 5-6 episodes have ruined this show's "potential"...haha i just read that...potential is too good of a word to waste on FF). The only reason I'm sticking with FF is because it is the Turtle universe. It's better than nothing. My head hurts.

In a manner. After finding out of another superhero going around as "Turtle Titan" he confronts the guy on it. Which leads to some irritation from this Turtle Titan when Mikey goes around as Turtle Titan (thinking Mikey's copying him - as-such the two get off on bad terms).
After a while (and a couple encounters with Triple Threat -- who, having stolen a comic from a museum, gets the idea to be a "super villain", as they "get to break stuff and steal"), they get on good terms.

Stupid fun episode. I like how they parodied American comics in this episode though. Even though the original TMNT comic was SUPPOSE to parody comics, it actually got too serious for it's own good. Still all the the "super hero" eps sucked whether it was 2K3 or FF.

That was fun! I always had a soft spot for superheroes, though. Nice bits of continuity, and I really enjoyed TT's ties with Silver Sentry. But I was kinda "huh" when he said that nobody knew TT's real name but SS... and the obvious answer is "nobody knew who Turtle Titan was, either...", but obviously he needed to know some other bit of info no one else did to identify himself, now that Turtle Titan was relatively well-known.
I really enjoyed the recap from Mike's POV (they used some of the backgrounds from their first battle with the Foot :)), though I noticed the designs barely changed (didn't match the FF style as well); wasn't worth redesigning them just for a flashback, I guess.
That's comedy genius (not "gold")! But, you and Aska would probably call it perverse. :sweatdro:*baps* :p Perverse, as in funny, silly, something somebody did just to say "We wanted to be completely contrary to what we've established before just for the silliness of it". Didn't say I didn't find it funny. I appreciate perverse humor. :p (Yeah, that does remind me that I have to PM you back... darn procrastination :ohwell: )
I'm not sure why no one likes Biggles or Sterling; they are the big truth tellers in the series! Mikey looked like a jerk in this episode. He deserved to look like a jerk. But I still wonder what that new turtle titan really expected from a teenager, anyway? I would not have been shocked at the juvinile behavior.
I thought the episode was good.
I'm mainly glad they didn't forget a lot of things about the 2k3 series, and can still tell stories around aspects of 2k3.
I was going to jump on here and tell everyone to start complaining (as if I needed to though :o ,) since all four Turtles said, "it's ninja time at once." OH NOES, THEY SAID THE PHRASE 4 TIMES IN ONE EPISODE, WITHIN 3 SECONDS!!! I had to go buy some new videogames though... :-?
I did laugh in the episode, it was pretty funny. I used to want a mix of the old school toon and the new one, and I think FF is hitting that pretty well with some decent comedy (some still falls flat like most comedy in the 2k3 series has,) and some good action. BRING ON MORE FILLERS!!!

Hehe, I don't recall how much I protested them, but I don't doubt that I did! Well, seeing as how they amuse me alot more than the turtles do alot of the times at this point, I just... I dunno. I think it's because THEY don't the like the TMNT being there that makes me like them even more! The TMNT are OOC alot of the times, acting more childish than their age, and than they'd ever acted in the 2K3 series. I can't stand that.
Even though the original TMNT comic was SUPPOSE to parody comics, it actually got too serious for it's own good.
Howso? That boggles my mind. It's supposed to be more on the serious side, which is what makes it actually GOOD.
Remember, it's the original, and therefore the standard starting point to all other things turtles. I think the cartoons and movies are too kiddish for THEIR own good; this new series as the case in point.
Besides, things can be a parody, and still serious and not stupid kid stuff.
I'm mainly glad they didn't forget a lot of things about the 2k3 series, and can still tell stories around aspects of 2k3.
I'm actually sorry they brought something as good as 2K3 into this drivel.
I used to want a mix of the old school toon and the new one, and I think FF is hitting that pretty well
Not to argue with you... really, this is just my opinion... but that's why I think it sucks.
And also for the episode, I saw Mike as attacking the new TT as a bit much. Anyone else think it was a tad too juvenile, even for Mike?
I think Mike has so much potential other than the 'baby brother' 'youngest, silly acting' one. I hate how they don't explore any of that, and make him (and each of them, really) a caricature of their personalities. (Though Mikey is the worst).

The old series knew it was a cartoon even during it's "darker" episodes (seasons one-three and seven-ten were more action/comedy than comedy), and that's why it can't be faulted for anything it does.
Fast Forward knows it's supposed to be something else that it's past few seaons have represented, but can't live up to the previous standard and tries to depend on the humour of the new series, and that's why it sucks. The humour in the new series has never been the show's strong point.

Well, I agree with you to a point. Yes, it knew it was only a cartoon, but cartoons aren't just fluff crap. They can be darker and less for kids (multiple shows of that time can be an example). But you know that.
ANYhow... well, it can't be faulted by you... because you really liked that type of thing. And I respect that. But, it can (and is) faulted by me for the same reasons.

TMNT is in fact a spoof of Daredevil. The origin story on the official site even admits that it's a spoof. Daredevil's sensei is named Stick.

Nobody knew who Turtle Titan was except for the people who read the Justice Force comics and Turtle Titan comics and....um..the fans... :P
This was a pretty good episode. Constable Biggles is getting more likeable and it's cool to see more descendents
of the TMNT's friends. I hope the new Turtle Titan shows up again. Im sure there'll be an action figure made of him since
he's the grandson of Silver Sentry.
Triple Threat is annoying. He's not a super villian but he tries. *lol*
What would be really cool tho is if they ever released a Turtle Titan comic series or even Justice Force. Funny that
they faught Galactus. Kinda just proves that they're Marvel heroes tho.
I wonder tho... is there a new Justice Force as well? Im sure it would be full of descendents of the originals. And in that
JF comic, why did the guy that Silver Sentry faught look so much like Jammerhead?
Im totally loving Serling's sarcasm when it comes to the turtles injuring themselves. *lmao*
Oh and the "No Shredder, no foot soldiers, no junk food" thing was a lie...this ep had all 3! Sure the junk food was fake...but still... :P And this ep also had a narration! So for all you wining that there's no narration anymore...there ya go.

This is so far, my favorite episode of Fast Forward.
I like how the traveling museum had parodies of other comic book titles. I think saw a glance of a Nobody Comic. And cool to see that Justice Force comic from season 2.
I laughed quite a bit when I was watching it earlier. I knew Mikey would get paranoid for someone to steal his superhero idea.
I didn't see epsiode 4, but from what I can tell on the Triple Threat charater. Those 3 heads don't seem to agree on anything when it comes to crime and distruction.
Anyways I liked this one a lot. Was anyone else surprised that they got away with saying the word Nazis? Which you don't hear too often in a Y7 rated cartoon.

Well, whatever their age actually is now, since in "Future Shellshock", Leo was saying about 15 years of Ninja Training, even though they were supposed to be 15 in Season 1 .......
Maybe any training they've had between season 1 and Fast Forward doesn't count.

I thought this episode was pretty decent.
I didn't expect to see Triple Threat again because Sh'okanabo is who I thought would show up...:ohwell:...4Kids dissapointed me on that one. At least Mikey and the human Turtle Titan fought Triple Threat.
This episode had some humor, combined with the action that took place, it felt average for me.
It was cool to see how Silver Sentry's grandson came to be the Turtle Titan in 2105; I don't think I could've asked for a better origin story.
Leo skateboarding on the half pipe -- that's something we're not gonna see too often, which is fine with me. Hey, at least he was doing something that's a hobby of mine; I feel Leo relates to me in that manner. :)
My verdict on this episode: three Turtle Titan moments out of five. It felt average to me, yet I enjoyed it, which I stated in an above sentence.
Ew. Hun looked like crap in that embellishment. Check out that itty bitty head on that distorted & elongated neck. It was definitely not 2K3 style at any point. I'm pretty sure that was Scottie Ray voicing The Shredder. Also, was that Sean Schemmel as the new Turtle Titan? That was a very fun episode. Superhero parodies always make me smile. Or, actually, superheroes do the same under any condition. So, there were Silver Sentry, Justice Force, Nobody and Titanic Tales (Turtle Titan) comics at that exhibit. That makes me wonder if Mikey lived through the days that his comic series was published yet. BTW, since it was an exhibit of 20th century pop-culture, why were there comics of a character that didn't even exist until the early 21st century? O_o Something doesn't add up here... I guess showing off the original design of his TT costume wasn't an issue, so Mikey must have just picked up the current version at the local costume shop. How 'convenient'.... Biggles being knocked off the roof was funnier in the preview for some reason. Mikey's always been obnoxious/inconsiderate enough to cause more trouble than he fixes, but this really pushed the envelope. He put someone in mortal danger (even if he is an immortal robot who can easily be rebuilt; the audience doesn't know), and he only cared because it was a chance to prove his worth as a superhero. That's kinda' sick. Are we to believe he only cares for the safety of the people who don't judge him? Like Cody? I knew that development wouldn't stick... Mikey's mockery of Raph in next week's preview was awesome! I LOLed @ that for half an hour or more.
If y'all are going to talk about what TMNT is SUPPOSED to be... you'll never get anywhere. TMNT has been many things over the years. There's something for everyone, but not necessarily everyone all at once. :p

Sure, but why wouldn't he have wore the original colors then? That was my point.

Actually Next weeks story continues the other main story line, the Dunn story line. Darius tries to have Cody and the Turtles killed while they are on the moon. It follows that main plot.
God Fast Forward has less of a filler feel then the first half of last season did.

But if Darius had wanted Cody dead, he wouldn't have even bothered to intervene at the end of ep02 ......

Thats smple, he intervined not because Cody was going to die but because his involvement in the inncident would have gotten out. He does want to kill Cody but only when none of the blame can be pointed to him. So he haved Cody and the Turtles last time to make himself look like a hero so when he does kill Cody he won't be a prime suspect.
Of course he wants to kill Cody I believe. Ether kill him or control him. Dunn is obviously on Cody's mother's side of the family (Looks nether like an oneal or a Jones and that last name) Obviously he can't have control of the company as long as there is a living heir.
Ok he wants to kill the turtles first as they have removed Cody from his controled sheltered life and opened his eyes. The Turtles can ruin everything for him first, which is A control Cody or B kill Cody.
There are two main plotlines going on The Dunn one and the Shoko one. I figure one will reach it's conclusion midway though the season (Probably Shoko) and the other will take up the rest of the season.
Anyway while Fast Forward IS a filler season it is currently less filler/stand alone dependent then the first half of season four was.

Good at reading between lines Stephen. However I'm not suggesting that FF is the last season. Only that we have four storyboard Teams, therefore is hard to keep up with everyones arc. Tmnt will go on as there is people that are interested in watching it.

My opinion is that this damn show is finally starting up!! And I couldn't be happier!! I loved this episode and I'm a turtle titan hater 100% I actully hope we get a figure of the new turtle titan (human).
The opening of the show was great I was like what! it was great to see the old characters again and Malignis some one we will like never see again. And the shredder was so like 80's shredder lmao.
Best part was Tripple Threat taking the comic and trying to be a bad guy from it loved it he's allot like a bad guy in the story I'm writting who's bad but is so dumb it really doesn't even matter he just sorta gets in the way.
Serling man I'm loving this guy best moment in the entire show was was when mike hurt his foot and was jumping around and Serling that jerk recorded it to his memory hahahah!
I was wondering where Splinter is at though the entire time but oh well guess we don't need him.
Cody has become less annoying to me he really is just kinda there now or a guide to the future.
Officer Biggles the guy makes me laugh the line "whats all this then" has been said so many times and made fun of it's now become funny.
I also really liked how the new turtle titan was related to silver Sentry and he straight out was like wow I idolized you and I don't anymore because your an ass. I'm glad some one shut mike up for once cause he is selfish.
I really do though find it so funny how all of our opinions of this show differ I'm really not finding this show to be much differnt from episodes of the 2k3 show and honestly I've liked allot of those even less than this.
I think it's safe to say the guys are gonna be in the future for some time. And you know I really don't mind.
I'm gonna give this series a year to develop and I think it's safe to say it's either gonna take off or it wont but either way I'm happy with what we've got sure it could be better but it's not the worst thing ever.
oh and next weeks preview "ughh I'm raph I hate the future!" ahahah what was that a puppet? oh many funnyyy
*yawwwns*
If that's how he's gonna be, I want no part of it.
well I dissagree allot about what you think of it being a waste I think it added allot to the show and isn't making characters one liners or one timers and now we have more to silver sentry and that opening part was amazing and the comic books look they did an amazing job on that.
The thing that still gets me though is the damn theme song ugh it's just so garage band lol...oh and btw we can agree on one thing I like biggles and Serling the guys priceless when mike hurt his foot and he recorded it to his memory I laughed out loud.
-X-
I agree and it is funny unless were just super optimistic and amused easily...
The humour in the new series has never been the show's strong point.
seriously I swear I've seen you post this same exact thign before did you just copy and past it! did you watch today episode? opinions, comments, thoughts, things you think would have been better? That would all be very nice.
JF comic, why did the guy that Silver Sentry faught look so much like Jammerhead?
BTW...TMNT FF will be on at 9am next week cuz of Yu Gi Oh being on at 11. that was dr. Malignus from the one episode of the 2k3 series :)
oh and thanks for that I was wondering they kept advertising it as being on at 11:00am still stupid fox!! I think it will do better at 9:00am to be quite honest.
Anyways I liked this one a lot. Was anyone else surprised that they got away with saying the word Nazis? Which you don't hear too often in a Y7 rated cartoon.
I was shocked also and was like wow also mikes yogurt joke ...seriously no kid would get that..I'm not sure even some adults would get it. "if I wanted culture I'd eat yogurt" haha funny stuff!
The Nazi bit was kinda an homage to the Archie comic series. The future turtles actually faught Hitler.
what exactly was said I don't remember but..I'm kinda doubting it was an homage to the archie series.
But if Darius had wanted Cody dead, he wouldn't have even bothered to intervene at the end of ep02 ......
dude he's a sneaky bad guy they just can't up and kill people...they've gotta plot it out..then tell people about it..then try and do it..then fail.
If my memory does not fail me, it may get darker for the next episodes and on. At least for the one I have boarded. However nothing like my " Beginning of the End" episode dark(that was a bit much)

Yeah, several of the jokes were approaching literati territory. It was like Frasier Crane snuck in and fiddled with the script. I was laughing at the sheer pomposity of the underlying material. Once again, the writers are messing with my brain... I mean, writers, are you kidding?
Cody: It's a traveling museum exhibit. Get it? It's traveling... not because they disassemble it and bring it to different museums, but because the whole thing FLIES! The very nature of the concept is contrary to intuition because it is literal! It's a conceptual pun! BWAHAHA!

I miss Splinter, but I hear he's having a grand time in the Russian ballet. There's nothing like a lifetime of ninja training to make incomparably graceful figure lines. Luckily, they decided against pressing charges for his little faux pas in Act II of The Nutcracker.

Though I didn't particularly like the introduction episode of Turtle Titan in season one, I did like this. I was laughing at several different points in the show. Particularly the scene when Mike tried eating the plastic candy, and then Serling's comments following. Serling really had me amused with his repartee in this episode. Normally he only succeeds in making me roll my eyes, but today he was gold.
It is getting better, slowly but surely. I can already tell a difference between now and a few episodes ago. It's starting to evolve.
I found the episode enjoyable, but I really thought mikey attacking TT was over the top. Mikey being childish & jealous fit his persona but downright attacking a superhero is a bit much.

This episode was so lame that it made me laugh. I still cringe at every "It's Ninja Time" chant, but I do like how TMNT:FF continues to incorporate characters from the past into this arc. It just makes the adventure even more genuine.
And I don't see how anyone could like Sterling and/or Biggles. Geezus, those have to be my two most horrible characters I could imagine. I've discovered something... in the TMNT, I'm a robotist. I hated Nano, I hate Sterling and I hate Biggles. I think I even hate that stupid Turtle X thing that Cody built (though it doesn't really have enough AI to function on its own).
Mikey seemed more immature than I thought he would be. Endangering Turtle Titan II? That just seemed so un-Mikeyish. Attacking him at the police headquarters seemed a little too much for his character. Hell, even putting a cop in danger (though I would've loved to see Biggles explode upon impact after his doomed fall) seemed out of character. The way Mikey's been portrayed throughout this entire season just seems more extreme than before: with his grand theft auto (I guess we know which game he played a lot back in '05), resisting arrest, assault on officers, endangering a cop.
I can actually enjoy seeing the Turtles being less serious, though. They're in a new environment where it's bright and colorful, the characters are unique and different from what they were used to seeing... they finally blend in. The way I see it, this change of attitude that they've taken is justified, in my opinion. As for Splinter, though, he seems a little more laid-back than he should be.
Good action, I like the yellow head's [of Triple Threat] voice... it makes me giggle. But the character is just weird as hell. I mean, c'mon... I was banned from wrestling, so now I'm going to rob banks and f*** people up just seems weird, to me. Bad "super villain" choice, if you ask me. But it was cool seeing Mikey and Turtle Titan II teaming up.
And was it me or did Turtle Titan pull a reverse Michael Jackson on us when he demasked himself? Maybe I wasn't paying attention or something.

I thought this story justified Michelangelo being pushed a little out of his normal range. What he did was brash and surprising, but he was hurt about something that was important to him. And more than a little confused about playing superhero and besting his namesake, I thought. He felt bad afterward, plus Turtle Titan 2.0 cut him down pretty good. ;) There were consequences to his actions.
The grand theft auto, etc, on the other hand, just made me mad. I don't like that, because it's stupid. The turtles shouldn't be perfect, but... please. There were no reasons or consequences for those things. If you're gonna have the turtles commit crimes, at least make it interesting.

It looks like there are some nifty things hidden in this show (I find those superhero screenshots particularly entertaining), but I don't have the stomach for the rest of it.
*sigh* And people are starting to think this is the new series, and labeling the whole thing as crap. That ticks me off. A lot.

I thought the classic DC Comic references were a nice touch, but again, too much filler, and another "moral" episode. FF has broken the record held by The Batman for "least episodes to carry on an ongoing story for more than one week", there's absolutley no mobility...
...The saddest part about this? The first season of The Batman, arguably right up there with one of the worst examples of how to remarket a Batman cartoon, is legitamatly BETTER than Fast Forward. Honestly.
seriously I swear I've seen you post this same exact thign before did you just copy and past it! did you watch today episode? opinions, comments, thoughts, things you think would have been better? That would all be very nice.
...Why? It would be nearly the exact same reasons why the remaining episodes have sucked, I know how tight your mouth is attached to FF's ass regardless to the point you won't see any flaws, so I'm not going to bother much other than say it lacks progression
But you've proven previously you don't give a s*it for what people think and would rather twist their words and ignore any valid points because you can't get it through your head you're in a distinct minority and have to always challenge why people say flat out it f*cking sucks, what have I said that Jo has'nt or anyone else who thinks the same?
Oh, and for the love of god, stop posting like you're being dragged under a bus and you have to say everything quickly and without structure, contrary to what you think, "many funny" is not a sentence :P
Well, I agree with you to a point. Yes, it knew it was only a cartoon, but cartoons aren't just fluff crap. They can be darker and less for kids (multiple shows of that time can be an example). But you know that.
Yup, and make no mistake, we both know the original was capable of that at times, but the show is largely different from the comics and should be respected for being it's own animal, that's why it cannot be fauled or compared. I personally despise the entire second season of the new cartoon, regardless of how "dark" it was, not every series has to that consistently, it bored the s*it out of me. Much like Fast Forward, it suffered from nearly no progression, it had a good few storylines in the early epiosdes, then after "Secret Origins", it fell flat on it's face until "City At War", then stopped dead after "Rouge In The House", one pit stop after another.
Spider-Man suffered from the same thing unfortunatly. Who the hell decided to make an entire episode based on The Prowler?
Drtooth
10-30-2006, 11:39 AM
SO I guess I'm, in the small minority of people that actually liked this episode, then. I feel that the show is actually getting better than it was. I mean, the second episode was my absolute least favorite, and the Wrestling one lost every bit of potential to be funny, and just milk the "The future is soooo different" schtick another time. I actually am glad this episode wasn't 90% "Look at how freakin' much things have changed! FREAKY!" and actually made decent filler out of itself. While it still can't beat the original 2k3 shows, it almost is more interresting than half the "we're suddenly in the middle of some alien's fight" episodes that were the first half of the last season.
Personally, I love Mike and I love the Turtle Titan... though, I will say the rivalry is almost taken out of Darkwing Duck, having Mikey in the Darkwing role. And Biggles and Serling were actually kinda FUNNY this time. Either that, or I'm getting more used to them.
Plus, on the positive side, Cody didn't interrupt half the episode, and that Casey Jones Mech was no where to be seen. So, I feel it's my favorite so far since episode three... which is only up there because of the CowBoys refference... and Night of that whateverthehell that thing is.

The comic on the bottom left the text reads:
"Introducing the Silver Sentress! Is she friend or foe?!"
"It's me Silver Sentry!--The Silver Sentress! And I have all the powers you have!"
"PLUS! Silver Sentry meets Metalhead"
this is an homage to the first appearance of Supergirl.
The bottom middle comic reads:
Silver Sentress: "Go for it Sentry-Cat! Show Sentry-Mutt who the top Sentry Pet really is!"
Silver Sentry: "I can't let Silver Sentress know, but if Sentry-Cat wins this tug of war then the Earth is doomed!"
this is an homage to an old issue of action comics (i forget the #)
The next comic is obviusly an homage to Batman #1.
The top row: Action Comics #1, Dark Knight Returns (Nobody Returns!), and some issue of Spawn (#8?).

ok I've been reading these posts of what every one has been saying and now I seriously think I don't want to see this episode. From what I can glean from what every one has been saying Mikey acted out and was acting more immature than how he usually acts (and got his butt nailed to the wall for it to apprantly). So this was basically another "Mikey learns a lesson and then forgets it immediatly afterwards" episode right?
Honestly I'm getting a little tired of the writers portraying Mikey so...immature. I agree with who ever said that this series has been dumbing the turtles down and embelishing the turtles personality quirks, and I noticed Mikey taking a slow down ward spiral. It pains me because I would have liked a little more development on his part and see him over come things and grow up a bit, Raphael did over the course of the 2003 series, as did Leonardo and Donatello. Why not Mikey? Now we are on this new series that has taken all the depth out of everything so I guess I can forget about it being Mikey's turn at all now.
I didn't see this episode but had this been presented in the 2003 three series I would have looked between the lines of Mikey's behavior and said that Mikey felt threatened by a copy cat. Its been my impression of Mikey that he has no definable nich in the team dynamic of the turtles, and so feeling unsaticfied with that he went out and created his own alter ego "turtle titan" so that he can feel like he has an indenity. Even though it seems childish I believe that Mikey is very protective of his "idenity" and doesn't won't any one trying to copy it, and--God Forbid, being better at it than he is. Hence why he acted the way he did. But since from what i have read of other people's reactions, its clear Mikey was just being an immature jerk and was just trying to get attention--again! The writters keep messing the characters taking any depth away from them. I don't think I;ll bother now, Ugh!!! :x

I think I saw that issue of Action Comics on Super Dickery. *lol*
Silver Sentress....I wonder if she was Sentry's cousin??? Probably if there was a Sentry dog and Sentry Cat (who probably got his powers the same way as Streaky). Silver Sentress was probably in love with her flying horse like Supergirl. :P
Now Silver Sentry is truly the black Superman he's gotta have a Lois Lane who is no doubt TT 2's grandma.
...its clear Mikey was just being an immature jerk and was just trying to get attention--again!
It might be a good idea to actually see the episode before you make a call like that.
Mikey's fun-loving personality makes him seem on the whole more immature than the other guys. He takes a lot of questionable risks, especially in his fighting style, but where with Raph it's seen as "omigawd what a bad-boy!" with Mike it's seen as "omigawd what a baby!"
Was Mike immature in this episode? Youbetcha. That doesn't bug me, however, because I think all of them have the right be a bit immature. They're supposed to be teenagers.
But Mike has his moments.

I suggest you look up Puter's older posts, he's gotten involved in just as many heated FF discussions, I was just making sure it ended before it began.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Wannabe."
ahahahaha
does this mean you're not gonna post how much you hate next week's episode? sweeeet.
Hahaha man I wish or hey could we be lucky and maybe not get hate at least till the damn thing airs:roll:
I thought the classic DC Comic references were a nice touch, but again, too much filler, and another "moral" episode. FF has broken the record held by The Batman for "least episodes to carry on an ongoing story for more than one week", there's absolutely no mobility...
...The saddest part about this? The first season of The Batman, arguably right up there with one of the worst examples of how to remarket a Batman cartoon, is legitamatly BETTER than Fast Forward. Honestly.
Yes, and this is the first season of this show it's not 2k3 sure it's using things from it but it's not the same show.
You can hate it and that's fine and dandy but allot of people are starting to like it I'm still not to sure about everything myself but I really enjoyed this episode. I'm still saying give it time your talking about how bad the first season of the Batman was which I have yet to see....but now you like the show correct? what's not to say someone good can come along in even the next few episodes or seasons and make this show better hell even better than the snoozfest that was 2k3 in my opinion.
...Why? It would be nearly the exact same reasons why the remaining episodes have sucked, I know how tight your mouth is attached to FF's ass regardless to the point you won't see any flaws, so I'm not going to bother much other than say it lacks progression
But you've proven previously you don't give a s*it for what people think and would rather twist their words and ignore any valid points because you can't get it through your head you're in a distinct minority and have to always challenge why people say flat out it f*cking sucks, what have I said that Jo hasn't or anyone else who thinks the same?
Oh, and for the love of God, stop posting like you're being dragged under a bus and you have to say everything quickly and without structure, contrary to what you think, "many funny" is not a sentence
You know it's funny everything you just made in the above statement about me sure sounds and awful lot like yourself. I asked you a simple question to please state what your exact thoughts are of the show so you don't look like such a douche bag to everyone on the drome. I would like all the negativity on this damn board to just stop it's not constructive nor is it helpful I dread coming here and wanting to say what I really want to because I'll get sneers or mocked from either yourself or Jo Dawn or others and I honestly don't give a damn what you think man I'm actually happy people are finally starting to get their heads out of there asses and see that the shows not that bad.
And no I do care what others think or I wouldn't be talking to them about what they think is wrong with the show duh!!! Like I asked you instead of copying things you've written before in other posts.
But you ...no I really don't care what you think like I said your a man set in his ways the high and mighty Zarius dun and there's no stopping you or changing your ways dun dun dun!
Yes, and you do also you know any time someone says they like something you don't you think they're the dumbest sacks of crap around. So don't double talk. You ask for reasons I always give the good and bad about an episode as requested from yourself and others. I'd just like to see everyone start being a bit more positive nothing good has ever come from negativity.
Oh and Yes many of you may be saying the same thing and and it's fragging annoying if you seriously don't like it don't watch and save those of us who do (even though it may be a small few) the trouble and agrivation when we want to talk about it with your constant complaints of the show. I mean hell it's gotten to the point that people are coming in and saying things before the damn episode even makes it to the air!! That's really out of hand.
It's a Internet message board not a collage term paper I'll type with as many damn spelling errors and as much bad punctuation as I please thank you. And I'm sorry I have to type in such a hurry I have important graphics work that needs to be done and I like to stop in this site only because I'm a huge turtle fan not because I care what Zarius thinks of me or fast forward. But you sure do get right up my nose and I'm sure that makes you ever so happy.
We'll I guess we're in the same boat this is my favorite episode so far and I'm not afraid to say it We've come what maybe like 5 episodes into the show now and it's allready starting to get better. All anyone can do if they want to is watch and wait. Either that or not watch it and just complain how it's not like something else...seems pointless to me though really.
I can't really see how anyone could say the show isn't pergressing anywhere when theres like 3 story lines going on that may very well all mix together at the end of the season.
I agre I'd watch it also if i hadn't seen it yet. I think if anything though Fast Forward now has added more to mikes Characters than the 2k3 series ever did. Well atleast in this episode anyways..I never once saw mike care so much about turtle titan as he did now. He always just acted like a moron before where as now he seems to have a passion for things he likes.
Does the concept of moderation mean nothing to you? Putrescent's comments were hardly threatening, but they inspired you to swear and attack him? In the words of Thumpers mom, "If you can't say anything nice"...
And eh it's always been that way but thanks Gobo People take me the wrong way. I always try to be the guy who gives people back a dose of their own medicine even when they can't handle it and to quote raph from the old toon "Iguess I'm just a glutton for punishment".
Yeah, well, at least my mom was'nt Bambi's...

Yea the faces are elongated it's not even the style of fast forward it's mikeys comic book flash back style..and I happen to like it even if it looks odd..I like seeing other artists drawings of the characters.
You know it's funny I really used to hate Hun but he slowly became one of my favorite characters I really miss him.
I wonder if they've ever thought about doing a spin off series of one of the other characters. I think that would be rather interesting.
... it's mikeys comic book flash back style.
That's what I thought too. And it's cool for that reason alone. Makes me laugh to think that Mikey would've have drawn Hun's head even more puny than it already is! ;)

Notice how he has thay weird kitty looking mouth that Bishop has now? Very odd stylization.
Also, am I the only one who is going to comment on Bishop's wierd statue in that skating rink? Is that going to be a sign of things to come? We know he's president or something... but who else thinks the show might get really interresting soon?
Was that gold thinger a statue of Bishop?!

While I would not go THAT far i would say it;s sad that The Batman's Forth season is the best Saturday Morning cartoon right now. Even with it's improved stories it does not touch last season of TMNT.

it still looks like Hun. The thing is, when you do a worms eye view or an upshot like that, things are naturally skewed by perspective. if you look at that picture of Hun from Insane in the Membrane, you can tell his head is much smaller than the rest of his body. now bring the camera down to his feet, looking up at him like in Clash of the Turtle Titan, and naturally the perspective is gonna make his head appear even smaller. it's just a matter of perspective, that's all.

You know, they might be obligated to insert __ _____ ____ into every episode, but I feel like they're making an effort to blend it in. Or at least reduce the pain to a minimum. You know, kinda like ripping off a band-aid. :ohwell: When I think of things like Sailor Moon, with the recycled glittery fight sequence intros, I feel quite grateful. Could be much, much worse.

I'm sorry, but there is just no way you could justify their over-usage of that damn phrase. Fast Forward wouldn't be so painful to watch if they didn't force that BS phrase in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE! I mean is it so hard for Leo to just say "Let's go guys" for once?

Was I trying to justify it? No. I was just saying it could be worse, but thank goodness for the TMNT writers we have. They probably are required to put a catch-phrase in by whoever has the money, and I'm not sure it could be downplayed much more than it already is.

Anyways I liked this one a lot. Was anyone else surprised that they got away with saying the word Nazis? Which you don't hear too often in a Y7 rated cartoon.
What's wrong with this word used in the show anyway? It was purely a historical reference in that context, not an insult.
The ep was fine. I liked the paranoid Mikey. No yawning this time.

It's weird, but I was a little surprised they said it too...I don't know what the exact rules are, but I think ratings-wise cartoons tend to stay away from it. Justice League had a time-travel episode that was shown at 10:30 at night, and while I *think* they said Nazi a few times, they mostly said "German forces" or "Germany", and they didn't use the swastika, but the iron cross instead.
If I had to guess, I'd say parents don't want their kids asking "what's a swastika" or "what's a Nazi".

Yea but in the TMNT Archie comics series Hitler's brain was one of their enemies and they even went back in time and faced Hitler himself (Raphael amusingly punched his lights out...then Hitler killed himself after they left.)

I like how you take one sentence out of my entire post and just respond to that. What I was trying to say is that I wish this series wouldn't embelish his character and dumb him down and make him act more immature just to fit the more kidafied turn this franchise has taken. I just want to see Mikey take stepps foward not back, and as of last season it seemd that the writters had decided to make him less a victim of the all mighty laugh. But you are right. I ammaking a judgement based on what other people have said and I should make my own. its just other than you every one here has said Mikey was unforgivably selfish, jealous, and immature and that hasn't made me feel to uncouraged to go see this episode as a result. Its painful to a see a character you like written poorly, even it stays relatively true to his character flaws, and the impression I got was that the writting for Mikey's character wasn't given justice in this episode.

Bevandera: It's weird, but I was a little surprised they said it too...I don't know what the exact rules are, but I think ratings-wise cartoons tend to stay away from it. If I remember correctly, they even managed to include the swastika in one of the later episodes of Justice League Unlimited.
As for the episode, it was the best episode (so far) of the season. Fast Foward is now safely back on track after some rocky initial episodes.
The characters, for once, were not annoying. Biggles and Serling have earned their keep here, Turtle Titan II is nice guest-star, and Triple Threat, while not the most complex character in the world, was fun here (I especially liked the sight gag of having its first two heads fighting among themselves while the third one just read the comic book)—he’s definitively one of the better “give the heroes someone to fight” antagonists (I especially liked the right head's suggestion that they use the Turtle Titans as Salt and Pepper Shakers).
Also, I guess we can all lay to rest the idea that this series will somehow disregard the events of the previous series; this episode was all about the continuity porn. It was a real treat seeing some of the characters from previous seasons in the “Fast Forward” style. While the Shredder, Foot Soldiers, and Silver Sentry came out of it looking okay, Hun and the Purple Dragons (did anybody spot Dragonface? First time we’ve seen him since Season 2)…didn’t. Still, I wonder if we’ll ever see “flashbacks” like that, perhaps of Casey and April. Also, from "Nobody: The Comic Book Series" to the statue of President Bishop at the Rockefeller Center, it was reference day today.
Speaking of the Rockefeller Center, I continue to be surprised at the way the creators have re-imagined New York. In re-designing the city, I think the creators have taken the most realistic approach possible. Manhattan will still be Manhattan--not even a hundred years will change that. Finding old and/or new versions of familiar NYC landmarks has been great.
I like how you take one sentence out of my entire post and just respond to that. I also said Mikey was a jerk. :P But the episode is more nuanced than that, and I think it's worth seeing. Then again, I liked the ep, so maybe that colors my judgement.
I like Mikey too.
I'm sorry that pulling out the sentence made you feel that I was only responding to a tiny part of your statement. I only did that for clarity, because you presented many ideas in your post and that sentence represented the general idea to which I was trying to respond. And I'm kind of stupid so large blocks of text confuse my wee brain.
