So so sooo I'm getting my nose pierced soon.
Been planning this for a long time.
But, all of the sudden, I've had an odd infactuation with lip rings.
But my mom has something against them. D:
So I had to get a fake one. And I feel dumb.
But they're soooo cute!
I want snakebites sosososo bad.

Your mommy is going to allow this? I'm surprised.

I think the nose ring; a small diamond, would look cute. I would definitely wait on something like a lip piercing to see how you like the nose one, first.

Also, nose rings are easier to heal and get rid of, if you decide you don't want a piercing on your face; another reason to stop and think about the lip one.

Personally, the nose ones for me are alot cuter and even more feminine than lip piercings, but that may just be me.

Whatever you do, I'd love to see pics. We'll support you no matter what, Hannah.

Oh... and I only have piercings on my ears, 9 in total. And one tattoo.

Indeed. I've marred my flesh beautifully (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=16799). (Scroll down to post 4)

Hannah, honestly, the best thing I can tell you is think about it all, do the research... There are some great resources for everything you need to learn about this kind of stuff, especially when you get into the facial piercings, since some of them require special care to heal properly. And, it being on your face, the after care is very important!

This (http://tattoo.about.com/od/piercingsgeneralinfo/) is an excellent start, and there are tons of other pages out there. (Definitely check out the piercing and tattoo forums there. Tons of stories and experiences and tips to share!) If you need anything, let me know. :)

I was thinking about getting a piercing for a while. My parents wouldn't allow it until I turned 18, and now that I'm way past that age, I may have to get it done. I'm just unsure what the hell the "cool" thing to do is for guys anymore. I remember it used to be one ear piercing, and now my friend tells me it's cool to pierce both. I don't even know.

Another factor is what kind of earring to get. It has to be nerdy, I do know that. Something from a video game or something. Gotta keep it OG, now and forever.

Most of the time, when you first get a piercing, you HAVE to use a 'piercing stud'. Alot of the time, they don't come in different, personalized versions, but who knows, you may get lucky and find one!

Piercing studs are more pointed so they can better, um... 'pierce' through your ear; plus, they have a catch on them so that your earring does not come out of your ear too early, in which case the hole can close way too early! Then you're dealing with scar tissue, and re-piercing through that (not a fun thing, I'm sure!). Which can lead to odd placements, crooked, leaning posts... Stuff like that.

However, after a month or so, you can switch your earring to whatever you want!

Though, if you're lucky enough to find a cool, personalized starter earring, then have at it!

Nothing like wasting money on stuff you don't need.

I never saw the allure in these things. Jewelry doesn't seem to do anything all that great. The only thing that might have any value to me is silver, and that's only if werewolves attack me.

Exactly my thoughts although I used to wear a huge gold chain with a cross when I was younger until I realized that I looked like a pimp with it.

Jewelery can be nice, if it's not overdone or worn solely for the sake of being cool. I mean, I wear a silver chain with a little bear and a dogtag (it was my first dog's last dogtag) around it. Oh, and I have a silver earring sometimes. But I'd have serious thoughts about getting a hole punched through my face just to put a ring in it. A couple years after you've made it, you don't like it anymore and you'll have that little, annoying scar where it was, reminding you how you tried to be cool for all your life.

I had one piercing ever. An eyebrow ring in my left eyebrow. It was torn half way out about two weeks after I had it. Now I've got an ugly scar and no more desire for another piercing.

My girlfriend is a bit insane about piercings. She already has well over a dozen in her ears and she had her bully button pierced. If I ever just let her loose I know she'd have a ton more, but I'll never allow such a thing. I'm ok with a nose stud or something though. Like JD said, those are feminine and cute. When I see chicks with rings coming out their lips and stuff I kinda want to punch them.

I used to have a few of my bits pierced. (sorry, there will be no pictures of the specific bits) I guess that was a phase I went through in High School. I didn't do any facial piercing, though...and never, oddly enough, had my ears pierced until recently.

*shrugs* I grew out of it. I was tired of the piercings snagging on things and some were uncomfortable after awhile.

I was going to get a prince albert, and I asked my mom to sign for me cause I was underage and she wouldn't, so then I waited till I was 18. Then, when I was 18 I went to get it and I passed out when I got there just thinking about it, so I decided not to get it.

d'ya think if you took it out and went to go pee, it would squirt like, y'know, everywhere?!?!?!

i think face piercings on a chick are pretty hot, lips and nose that is, but i find the eyebrow a wee bit masculine! i dont have one, (had my ear pierced when i was about 12 or so but its long gone...) but i've got a tattoo! on me right arm, its like a cherub, angel type thingy behind a scroll, with the word 'Libertine' written in it... Ooo...yeouch *whinces* That is definatly not good. Oh... *shudders*

As for me, I'm the wussy type; even the thought of piercing my ears makes me shudder. Yes, I am keen NOT to get holes opened up in my ears, breasts, nose, mouth, eyebrow(s), tounge, eyelids, or anywhere else on my body for that matter. I've had many friends who have pierced their ears and had infections weeks later. I know that they weren't taking care of their ears properly, but it still encourages me to keep away from the accessories. I don't mind the things, though. It's just in akward places, like on your butt cheeks, that make me freaked out about people.

I like piercings personally, my girlfriend has like 17 in her ears, one in her nose, one in her belly button, and a just recent eye brow ring. I personally love them all, I am not to sure if ill get one anytime soon, maybe later on, she's addicted to them and will probably get a few more in ears and nose, I think she wants a tongue ring, and maybe other places. I am a fan of them, I think they look good on her, just some are a bit weird looking.

Hmmm...Lip rings? No no. I would never get one. Of coarse I've never considered any facial piercings. It definatly affects how people look at you...and some places won't give you a job if you're all pierced and tatted up.

If I were to ever consider the face...I'd go with the nose. It's tiny and easy to cover up should you need to. Te belly button...never. It get easily infected and it's a gateway for all kinds of nasty things. My friend got hers done and had to go to the hospital for something similar to that.

I got my ears pierced when I was about 5. I've considered getting the top of my ear pierced....but....I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to needles and things that puncture.:ohwell:

I remember way back during my junior year of high school when my parents actually suggested I get my ear pierced. I looked at them incredulously and asked, "Am I being outed without even being in?"

I need that like I need another hole in my head.

Wait... uh...

I would have made you take it out anyways....I don't find ear piercings attractive in certain men.

I was going to get a prince albert, and I asked my mom to sign for me cause I was underage and she wouldn't, so then I waited till I was 18.

WHY? I just can't fathom a reason why anone would ever want a piercing in such a place!

Same thing with girls getting it pierced down there....WHY?!? Could you imagine if that ever got caught on something somehow? *winces*

((actually....just the pain of getting it...yeouch))

I never found the appeal in jewelry or piercings, to be honest. Lip rings, eyes rings, nose rings. The only jewelry I could sport was a little silver chain. But hey, to each his or her own.

As for the Prince Albert ordeal........... WTF?!

I've got my lip pierced on the left hand side, got it 2 years ago. I'd get the lip done if I was you, it looks really hot on girls:P My favorite piercing on girls is the top of the ear though, I just think it's really sexy. I hate belly button piercings though, my ex-girlfriend had one and I never liked it, on her or anyone else.

I cannot have visible piercing, other than ears, due to my profession. If I have one facial piercing, I would not be able to get my teaching license.

Anarky

That's kind of stupid. I mean, everyond knows there's people with piercings out there, they aren't anything special anymore. I know of a kindergartenteacher around here who's a member of the local goth scene. This means, she's got at least three facial piercings. Of course, she doesn't run around in full goth attire with her kids, but you do notice it. When I asked her what she told the kids why she looked that way, she said that they were going to be "Learning Pirates" for the next two years and handed out pirate hats in class. And initially, parents frowned upon it, but they eventually got the news that she's good.

... 'tis a weird world.

gee, I am being judged not only by my mentor teachers, professors, students, but also the state. Teachers are meant to be role models to students.

I've been considering getting a tat, maybe a piercing or two. My only idea for the tat right now is the Nintendo raceway logo on my right pec, and the only 'cool' piercing I can think of would be a nipple ring or something.

I had my ear pierced when I was younger, twice now, but it's healed up both times.
