Okay... this may just seem like splitting hairs, but is it:

"Turtles fight with Honor" or

"Turtles! Fight with honor?"

The first one implies a mission statement that the turtles always fight honorably, while the second is a direct command. So, as you can see, it can have 2 different meanings.

I always interpreted it as the first one, but I can see where it could be taken as a command though.

The first one. Never noticed any significant pause between the words "turtles" and "fight".

It likely could have been meant to be a command, but Cam Clarke just mispronounced the comma. That would explain why the pun that bad guys fight dirty came about (as an inside-joke! 8] gobo loves inside-jokes). And, all this time, I was certain that they were just stating the obvious. How lame that is...

I think it is more of the first. Leonardo was all about honor good doing back then. He was certainly the most idealistic of the four turtles back then. As for the battle cry, I don't think Leonardo needs to tell the turtles to fight with honor because they always do. I think the saying is more Leonardo telling their oppents that they fight honorably and because of that its destined the turtles are going to win because their objective is noble and that the bad guys are gonna get their respective butts handed to them, because their objective is bad.

So its sort of an intimadation of Leonardo's part because he thinks that the good guys always win and the bad guys always lose just because they are bad guys...and vice versa. And likes telling them that right before the turtles charge them.

I feel the second one sounds better too. I could just swear I saw Leo turn his head to the others when he said it once, so it could very well be a command. But that's if I'm right about that.

It could very well have been a command at first. In the first season Leonardo was over-all alot more comanding and authoritve in the first and second seasons, and more want to bark orders at the other turtles than ask. And the boys seemed to listen to his commands a lot better too. So he could have been telling them to fight honorably in the very first battle they where in.

Exactly what instant are you refereing to that showed Leonardo turning his head toward the others when he said it?
