Funny Bits

I apologise if there's already a million threads about this, but I just want to ask which bits in the 2003 series cracked you up?

For me personally, off the top of my head, the first moment I can remember is from "The Shredder Strikes" when Leo says, "Okay, so it's not your ordinary mail. I guess Mikey would call it 'Air Mail'." (that last bit being an imitation of Mike's voice, of course). I don't know why but when I saw this little bit I laughed so hard and kept rewinding it to watch over and over. Yes, I'm strange.

Don's pigeon puppet tickled me, as did Mikey's scream when Casey destroys the DVD player in "The Way of Invisibility". In fact, Mike's girly scream is always good for a giggle.

The other bits that immediately come to mind are all from "The Big House (Turtles in Space III)". Mikey throwing up (in the salad bar, no less!) from accidently eating floor wax; the absolute absurdity of a floor wax dispenser existing in a mess hall; Don and Leo force feeding Mikey said substance so that he pukes again; Don operating the keycard with his toes, the moment of reveal when they open the cleaning storeroom right after Don says that Raph should be in there; when Raph asks for weapons and they sheepishly present him with spoons.... Seriously, I spent this whole episode laughing til I cried!

Who can tell me some more? :D

I forgot that one. Funny how they nod to another 90's cartoon based on an indie B+W comic book written in MA. We have Turtles and The Tick. Who else can say that?

I do love all those nods to the old show. April posing as a reporter, an Utrom named Krang, Bebop driving a flying car, Cerebus the Aadrvark crawling around in a swamp (okay... that's the comic), Genosuke as Rocksteady. Hillarious stuff.

Plus that whole bit with the CowBoys in FF...

When Splinter is trying to work the remote control to the battle shell and he's pressing all the buttons and everything keeps popping up out of the truck, makes me laugh tons! Esp. when the sat dish goes up and down, it's quite a long scene too it's just the way it moves that cracks me up!

I can't remeber which episode exactally, but when the boys went back down to the nderground and Mikey was shooting nets at Quarry/Sydney he yells, "Nets! I'm all out of nuts! I mean...Nuts! I'm all out of nets!!" :D

And when the guys are at Casey's Gramma's house after the attack with Shredder, and they are climbing back into the room through the window and April and Casey are laughing with Sid and Mikey trips, "Thats' nice. They're laughing. I can't move and they're laughing." ^^

There's more but I can't think of any right now. I tend to write them down when I hear the good ones. ^^

Oh my god, I can't believe I forgot about this one! I watched this ep the other night, and yep, that little scene cracks me up.

I really need to catch up on the some of the early episodes. Half of these examples I don't even know what they are because I have never seen them.

Some of my favorite moments by turtle are:

Raphael: His mockery of Don in the episode Aliens Among Us . and basically anything that came out of his mouth in this episode.

Donatello: Chasing Raphael out his work shop with a hammer. LMAO

Michaelangelo: When he stops a guy from stealing a womans purse and he goes to give it back to her, thinking she'll be grateful, and she flips out on him and smacks him with her purse, and calls him a freak.

Leonardo: when he had to fight with toilet plungers and forgot what they where and he kisses them. LOL

In "Ninja Tribunal" when the TMNT were fighting the wooden figures on the roof, when Leonardo was fighting his guy on the ledge of the building, when he took an uppercut swing at Leonardo with his tonfa, I could swear it looked like he was "flippin' the bird" at him!!!

The Entire "Big HOuse" episode cracks me up every time, one of my favorite episodes....it's funny but it doesn't have to be stupid-funny, it's all within the context of the episode woven around a really enjoyable plot. It's not every day that the heros of a story get captured and have to sneak out.

"....Nice hats!" ....same episode, when Mikey tries to say something threatening to Shredder and fails totally.

Oh yeah, I love how when Raph says "nice hats" after Mike and Don, the other two nod and Mikey says, "yeah, we thought so too!". Lol.

I just got seasons 3 and 4 from amazon, so I've got a whole lot of new moments now. Off the top of my head, The Ancient One's gas problem just had me wetting myself. I know, that's so immature of me, but farts are always funny. I especially like Leo's "Man, you are unbelievable!" reaction.

I'll remember some more when my brain's working better.

The line that I was using in my signature -- from The Return of Savanti Romero (Part 1 ) -- was definitely one of my favourites. It was just so subtle and hilarious that I had to rewind to watch it again.

I watched April's Artifact yesterday, and thought it was hilarious when Mikey was twirling his improvised nunchucks, then one of the ends came off and smacked Raph and you could hear him off scream yelp. I just thought that whole episode wa funny.

I was watching my 'Secret Origins' volume and I came across a few hilarious parts during Secret Origins (Part I). I thought it was pretty funny when Mikey get's the tail cut off of the suit he's wearing (it being the only one that didn't shape to his body). Right before it happens he says, "A welcome home party, you shouldn't have," and after it happens he says, "No, I mean it, you shouldn't have!" I thought that was pretty funny, as well as when the Turtles are getting into that Oracle Pod Chamber and as they're having those caps put on Mikey says, "A little off the top, please."

The funniest episode for me is definitely Turtles in Space: The Big House. I was PMSL for virtually the whole ep.

Just thought of another random funny bit that's been keeping me amused whenever I've been a bit depressed the past couple of days. I can't remember which ep it's from (as usual) but I'm sure someone here will know. Anyway, in this bit Splinter has just been asking the boys if they know why they have always managed to overcome their enemies, to which Mikey exclaims: "Because SHELL we're good!!" ...to which Splinter whomps him on the head with his stick. Hehe. It's mostly what Mike says though that makes me laugh... I guess it's all in the delivery. :)

Oh, and the "Nice Hats" thing was pretty funny...and how the Shredder always said something like "None of you will leave here alive!" or "None of you are leaving here alive!"...and I laughed a little the first time I heard the Shredder's signature sound effect, just because it actually wasn't the first time I heard the sound - it's a stock sound effect (I'm ofcourse talking about "Yooooooooooooooooo!" - it's in lots of Japanese shows and stuff, and I'd love to know where it's from originally).

That sound effect is also in Civilization II, which is where I knew it from. :D It does make me smile, really big.

I first noticed that sound-effect on Tenchi Muyo! I noticed it popping up in a lot of other shows since. But, my favorite funny bit has always been, still is and possibly may always be Splinter trying to use the Battle-Shell's remote in "Return to New York".

Ok, I was watching Alien Invasion episodes from the Ways of the Warrior series. In the 2nd part of AI, Mikey keeps coming up with all these ideas on how to defeat the Triceratons. Using info he grasped from his video games.

Well, he was trying to pilot a ship, when Raph and Leo start talking to eachother how stunned they are about Mikey's thinking abilities. Leo then goes "Mikey is showing that he can actually be useful"

Then Mikey can be heard off camera "I heard that!"

I thought it was funny!

Mikey's imitations of anybody are great. I love it in "Return to the Underground," when him, Leo and Raph are all caught in spider webs, and Mikey imitates Don and puts on this hilarious lisp: "Him and his big ideas. 'Come on, guyth! Leth go down in the underground city! We'll have thome laughs! We'll get EATEN!' "

And in "April's Artifact," when he imitates April and puts on this high pitched squeal: "Oh, sure. 'You can survive without your weapons for one day!' "

And Splinter's line in "Grudge Match"... when he makes fun of Mikey and says he wants pizza with pepperoni, and karma.

Usagi has some pretty funny unintentional lines. I guess Mikey is owning this thread, though... which I suppose makes sense, because he's the comic relief. Raph and Splinter are hilarious too, though.

I laugh my a$$ off everytime Mikey says that in April's Artifact. That whole episode is really funny. I thought it was hilarious to see some homage to Aliens when April tells the bug to "Get away from him you witch" when I think it was gonna eat Donetello.

you know I must be one very humourless person because most of the examples that every one has mentioned as being ROTF hillarious, I didn't find particularly funny :ohwell:

In fact, even though I love this show to death I kind of find the humour in it a bit lack luster, except for a few instances. Really I watch this show for the intence story lines and the strong bond the turtle family has. The only character in this show that gets the most laughs out of me is Splinter. There is just some thing so genually funny about Splinter's mannerisms that it makes me laugh. I think its his dry humour that makes me laugh.

I agree on this, while I do find enjoy moments of comedy in the show, the family moments and the action are really what I'm all for; my only difference of opinion is Splinter is one of the only characters that doesn't make me laugh.
