Ayuk! I got 40/70. Wow, I didn't know I was such a big TMNT fan. Y'know, while looking through that list, I suddenly realized that I dressed up as Michaelangelo three years straight for Halloween. Too bad that costume won't fit me anymore...

I only got 28, I must be out of touch. However, here's two more I thought of:
Actually own nunchuks, katanas, sais, or a bo. (yes,I do)
Know, or know someone who knows, the creators of TMNT. (My Mom's friend's husband from high school was one of the creators of TMNT, but I forgot which one)

(edit: I own a bo and nunchucks, and my dad has at least wooden versions of katanas, and sais. He's a martial arts instructor.)

Yikes, now you're one turtle I don't wanna mess with!
Actually own nunchuks, katanas, sais, or a bo.
~~Oh, I do! I own a bo. Okay, so it used to be a broom handle, but it still works the same. There are also plastic sai somewhere in this house.
Know, or know someone who knows, the creators of TMNT.
~~Would internet friends count? 'Cause then that would be yes.
Which points did you guys think were the weirdest/most disturbing?

I actually own nunchucks and a pair of sais. They look good on my wall.

Which points did you guys think were the weirdest/most disturbing?
Okay, here's what I think disturbed me the most after looking at that list again:
1)Eating those green ice cream pop things. I didn't think they were very tasty...
2)Handwriting analysis?! Weird!
3)Turtle reproduction...Uh, not my cup o' tea.
4)Surfing the web for TMNT related stuff, and answering e-mails/forums instead of doing work. Disturbing for me, since I've got mid-terms
Everything else seemd *gasp* quite normal to me. Then again, I'm an azure, talking, mutant turtle. Take that with a grain of salt

I thought the one about seeing a rat and thinking of splinter was too weird.
I've eaten those Turtle pops (and within the last year too!) but I don't really like them. I forgot how sickly sweet they were. Aw well, at least I got a kick-ass picture of Raph on the wrapper.
Turtle reproduction. I must say, I'm more interested in the *ahem* earlier stages, but I've never actually done any research. Well, unless you count fan fics.
None of those points struck me as "weird." Maybe extreme, but not weird. I hope to be able to check off every one some day.

Well, if it counts for anything I do at least own a sword and dagger. I also have fencing experience.
azure turtle
02-11-2002, 08:19 PM
Softcore? Woah, I don't think I want to go into that topic  Man, everyone's sporting weapons! I need to find me some nice, ninja weapons.
*begins to run through the sewers screaming "Cowa-sumthin' or other!"*
Good luck, most real weapons are hard to find here in CA. I can't get any by mail order, and the local weapons shop doesn't carry ninja gear.

You speak the truth once again, Kali! I'll postpone my search 'til I get an apartment. Either that, or I'll move into the sewers permanently. Then I'll have plenty o' room!

60/70?! Dude, you're hardcore. I don't think I can recite very much from the second and third TMNT movies. I haven't watched those in a long, long time.
I could probably recite all three if I tried. It's easier to do when the movies are playing. You know, talking along with the people.
coolmike1586
02-12-2002, 01:33 PM
I am total hardcore. and yes it is easier if the movie is playing but i can almost do it all from heart without it playing
MikeRaphGrl
02-12-2002, 06:42 PM
I've never seen the movies . I need to rent them or have my friend lend them to me. It's on my to do list this weekend.

Aye! It's the list I *inspired* GreenWillow to do! Hrmm... Can I get 2 extra points for this, since I contributed some of those list-ups too?
I think this was the thing that got her going... http://horseturtle.tripod.com/geek.html
But since I never tallied up my score before, the turth is kinda scary... 55/70!
Plus, I also have a bo and a boken, and not only have I planned to go to Japan -- I been there!

 Dude... it seems you guys just live here on this forum at night! Traitors!
But the repro thing... I dunno. Doesn't bother me since I also studied horse, whale, small mammal, and insect repro too. Science has a way of making it very... proper and boreing sounding after awhile. ;p
Now, that one bit abot explaning TMNT repro to a non-TMNT fan really does not sound right. I still respect my sanity to do that!
What if you're not the one who brought it up? My friend(not a TMNT fan) and I were waiting for a bus, and were talking, and she, for some reason, decided to get me talking about TMNT. She was curious about the whole 'how would they...' thing. Oddly enough, I couldn't explain it very well.
HorseTechie
02-25-2002, 02:23 PM
mm.. well, if you put it that way, it sounds better (than say, if I approached a co-worker and started going on about that)> After all, I did have a co-worker ask me once how they get the sperm from a stallion for articial insemination!

It gets pretty whacked out at times. You'd be surprised with some of the stuff peeps talk about tho. me and Azure had an interesting convo about ESP and Psychic abilities, and other stuff. life's like a box of chocolate *sees candybar and snatches it* If youre not fast enough, you miss out on a lot of stuff.

That's true! Conversations about all kinds of topics appear every now and then. I remember that ESP conversation we had, Machias. We danced the "intellectually stimulating" dance afterwards, heh heh.
Oh, and I read the stuff you put on that link, HT! It definitely sounds like you had inspired some things on that "hardcore fan" list.

48/70. Go me. Better than my last gov't & politics test.
I too own sais, nunchaku, and a makeshift bo staff...with a collection of sabres, since I took up fencing this year. And at stage crew today, there were some bamboo staffs...but I won't get into that.

How about reciting the entire plotline of the comic series for another point? Anyway, I gotta go look for the pics I have of my homemade Raphael costume from when I was five...
