I thought you guys might want to add this or the audio to your multimedia section. I have the UK intro of the old cartoon knocking about too.

Whoa! We should make that the unofficial title for the series. My teeth didn't automatically start grinding when I read "New Mutation"...

you actully watched what he said to download right? it was the next mutation with the word ninja changed to hero *shivers in fear*

Sure did. T'was interesting to watch. The "Hero Turtles" issue just doesn't have the same gross-out index as "The Next Mutation" holds for me for some reason though. I'm calling it "New Mutation" from now on! ^_^

It's been put out there...no takesies-backsies. Kidding, kidding. Nice stuff...though Hero Turtles always seemed a bit off to me...dang censorship.

seriously, i never understood as a kid why the movie was called 'ninja' when i had been watching 'hero' turtles all my life...

but i know why these days, for i am enlightened :D

I have a response to Next Mutation, but you probably know what it is. Bleh. SO I'll just go out and say...

Hero turtles. Why couldn't they just take the "Ninja" out of the title completely, and just call them "Teenage Mutant Turtles?" Would have made more sense. Just alter the theme song, which they did, anyway.

BTW, do they still do this? Do they do this with the current one? And do they even have NAruto over there? He's not in Hero training, is he?

Funnily enough the Turtles were referenced to as "Teenage Mutant Turtles" when another character mentioned them thanks to BBC cutting room editing.

The episode Turtles On Trial in particular had the characters saying this. When I watched the episode in Canada on DVD earlier this year it was like watching a very much uncut cartoon.

Yeah! I knew they cut out the word Ninja in the series, just not in the theme song.

Didn't they also make Mike's weopon something else, like a grappling hook or something?

Is there still a problem with the word "ninja" in the UK? I thought I remembered headbutts being a problem there, too.

nope, its all ninja nowadays!

i have some pretty cool stuff with 'hero' instead of ninja on it, including a wee bag type thing, a wall sign and MOC 1988 shredder, rocksteady and splinter... oh, and 7 videos!

and mikey always had nunchucks in the 'toon, i think the grappling hook thingy came in the later seasons for all countries...
