Over at IMDB everyone hates it. Here though at the Technodrome I'm glad to see that most of you have at least excepted it for what its worth(though I have seen a few real haters).

Now I'll admit that FF is not as good as the 2003 series, having said that its still a little to early to judge it all since the first season is not even done yet.

It started off ok,but now(IMO) its starting to finally take off, with actual character development with the new villians and "Dark Turtles" finally coming into play.

Now we all loved the 2k3 series, but did we really need it to keep going after "The Lost Season"? After thinking it over it was just about time that it ended(had they shown the TLS before starting FF of course to keep things in order),

Look.......the 2k3 series was coming dangerously close to killing itself,it kept using the same basic storylines and plots, there was only so many times the turtles could thwart Agent Bishop's plans, and save the world from the Triceriton and fight Karai and so-on.

We needed FF(in a sense) because it introduced new characters and villians which gives us whole new stories and plots, plus Bishop and the Triceriton are still here,so its not like we had to totally give up those great characters(which you know Bishop has not shown his true colors yet)

And its unfair to bash FF for its new look, serisouly you know its the same just colored brighter, and so what if theres some comedy? The stories are what count.

So we should thank FF,it(in a way) saved the cartoon from becoming so-so and repeitive.

So to finish...........Fast Forward is getting better, just give it a chance and lets see how the first seasons ends.

That is grade-A bulls*it, the third and fourth seasons were dramatic turnarounds and had more twists than standard episodes of season two and even the s*it we're getting with Fast Forward. We were'nt getting basic ANYTHING and you'll find the majority of this community will back that up

So we should thank FF,it(in a way) saved the cartoon from becoming so-so and repeitive.

I thank FF for taking away the grim, dark storylines, the unique identity of this series, and also seemingly forcing people to lower their tastes to enjoy it simply because it's there, just like the same reception NM got around the same time. It's not a matter of liking the show, it's a matter of tolerating it. Like it now, hate it later, and especially when something better comes along.

Something better is the movie

OK OK...I knew those spesific comments were gona offend some people, but it certainly was not my intention.

Let me re-phrase that.......Yes your right there was great twists and storylines, what I meant was that they dealed with the same basic premise.........Agent Bishops evil plans,Triceritons invading earth, and so-on......I mean do we really want to see the Turtles fight the same villians over and over, only each time with a differnt twist? Sooner or later thats gona become a gimmik.

And as for thanking FF,what I meant was, thank it for introducing new elements and new things for the Turtles to do before it became repetive.

So don't get me wrong,I loved the 2k3 series just as much as everyone else, and I never missed an episode.

Mud-slinging in favor of FF over 2K3? That's just so wrong... The first half of the fourth season didn't have anything to do with Agent Bishop, Triceratons or Shredder and his extended family. So, why would you make such an absurd suggestion?
We needed FF(in a sense) because it introduced new characters and villians which gives us whole new stories and plots, plus Bishop and the Triceriton are still here,so its not like we had to totally give up those great characters(which you know Bishop has not shown his true colors yet)
FF is an unnecessary storyline that attempts to fix what wasn't broken in the first place.
And its unfair to bash FF for its new look, serisouly you know its the same just colored brighter, and so what if theres some comedy? The stories are what count.
I'm certain that the changes wouldn't be so vehemently despised if it wasn't for them all being thrown at us at once. Plus, the stories are predictable and dumbed-down. It's clear that this change of tone was purely a marketing decision.
So we should thank FF,it(in a way) saved the cartoon from becoming so-so and repeitive.
:blanksta: Are you high?
So to finish...........Fast Forward is getting better, just give it a chance and lets see how the first seasons ends.
True, and I find it to be enjoyable as of the past few eps. The first season ends in two weeks, BTW. But, in retrospect, you're just giving the FF-haters reason to start hating it full-force again by upsetting their love for the older style. Knock it off already! This argument wasn't needed here anyway.

The way i see it, every transition of the TMNT cartoon {Old Series > Red Sky > 2k3 > Fast Forward} has succeeded in opening new horizons to the TMNT universe, and I'm the kind of person who enjoys variety and doesn't like choosing favorites, making me able to enjoy every one of these transitions. I can't speak for everyone, but personally, I, for one, could appreciate what Fast Forward has done with the TMNT universe.

I'm open to change, I just have never been a big fan of stories that involve going into the future. I would say my all time favorite cartoon is Batman: The Animated Series, but even Batman Beyond just doesn't float my boat. I would have preferred the Turtles go back in time. The Savanti Romero Returns story line was really interesting to me. I just think in the future, everything is so much easier and the gadgets are all so unbelievable.

I'm sure it's been said about a hundred times thus far, but the one thing that I strongly dislike about 'Fast Forward' is the fact that the characters just aren't as they used to be. There is so little character depth within the Turtles, especially Leonardo. He doesn't seem to be much of a leader anymore, and for that matter, he doesn't seem to be much of anything anymore, he barely even speaks, let alone lead the Turtles. And as for Mikey, at least in the 2K3 series if he cracked a joke, he'd usually become serious the moment after, especially in battle, or if Raph or Leo would say something to put him back in line, so to speak.
Lastly, and again, I'm sure it's been said by everyone on this forum, the fighting is so weak. It lacks everything about the old figthing -- which, is obviously the case with FF all around anyway -- however, it irks me the way that they hardly fight at all. I suppose I'll have to wait to see if it gets any better, or develops anymore, but as of now, (and agreeing with what ZariusTwo said) we've (and I've) definitely had, in a sense, 'lower' my tastes, enjoying FF just because it's is there, and at the moment -- Ninja Tribunal excluded -- it's really all we've got.

I'll meet you both halfway on this one. Personally, I think a lot of that had to do with the "Turtles are third party to aliens attacking each other" lines, like the Atlintians (except of course, for Sons of a Silent era. I got that title right, didn't I). Not to mention the fact the shows were out of order, making similar episodes run one after another. Those episodes weren't too good, anyway. And personally, I think the whole Atlintian thing borrowed heavily from that Disney movie.

At the same time, I do think that FF would only save it for the younger audiences (in the minds of an executive, at any rate), by being lighter.

As I've said, this show was more a merchandising issue than a ratings issue. Playmates was the one to come up with it, not 4Kids. The endless varients were just sitting on the shelves, with nothing really new to offer, except redesigned weopons and removable costumes. They might wind up screwing themselves with that again, later on in the line, they might not.

At best if FF is successful, we'll probably get the other shows aired in time. At worst, we'll get more FF or maybe even another subseries. If FF fails to do so, best case scenario, they'll find a more adult market for the turtles next time (a show similar to Spawn or the Maxx). Worst case... well, this site will be pretty empty talking about "Hey! Remember Cowabunga Shredhead? Wasn't that a cool episode?" over and over again.

I like FF somewhat, I just hope that it can eventually lead to bigger and better things, not just for the series, but for the franchise (especially the video games!) as well.:tgrin: :tpizza: :tthumbsu: :tthumbsu:

Heh...two Turtle thumbs up for progress!!

Well said.

Thats what I meant, that it could be something good for TMNT,we just need to give it time and see how the rest develops.Like I said,do we really need or want the turtles fighting the same problems and villians over and over?

Maybe FF could be almost as good as the 2K3 series, and if "Almost" is all it is then thats good enough for now, since we would still have something to enjoy.

I didn't mean to make anyone mad,I'm as big a fan as the next person,I grew up with the old original toon and could not have been happier when they returned in '03.

I don't mean to rebuttle, but don't you get the feeling that in the Fast Forward series, the Turtles are a bit second party to Cody? I feel that with a few of the story lines thus far, the Turtles are there as a backup to Cody and the episodes revolve mostly around him -- and I just can't seem to take that much of a liking to him. Obviously, that hasn't been the case with all of the ep's, but it often seems like it's the Turtles who are following Cody around the city and looking out for him. I realize that it's because they have to adapt to the city through Cody, but majorally the plot has to do with Cody and his family (i.e. Uncle Darius -- who I think is a pretty terrible character). Again, however, I suppose I'll just have to watch and find out where the series is headed. I don't mind so much the addition of the Dark Turtles, so hopefully, that will prove to be decent.

The character designs have also changed. I liked the idea of Fast Forward and dont mind them going to the future. What I don't like is what everyone else hates; the way they changed the characters. The turtles are no longer who they used to be. If they could have kept the same animation, designs, and overall tone of the show, but set them in the future, I'd be much happier.

Thus far, I agree with Zarius, gobo and Tortuga Joe and gary. I'm not going to quote everything for the longest post EVER, heh.

But I will quote a few.... ;)

And its unfair to bash FF for its new look, serisouly you know its the same just colored brighter, and so what if theres some comedy? The stories are what count.

Yeah, but the stories suck. Honestly, not even comparing to the 2K3 series (it is not the same universe to me. It can't be). If this came out seperately I would not watch it. Granted, it has gotten better than it was when it first started, it is nowhere near anything great. I'd be highly disappointed in the lack of character development, and how out of character and just plain WISHY WASHY they all are.

Maybe FF could be almost as good as the 2K3 series, and if "Almost" is all it is then thats good enough for now, since we would still have something to enjoy.

I disagree. I'd rather they stopped on a high note instead of ending with this drivel. This will be what people remember, and it won't be for being an edgy, growing show. It'll be for an awful 5th Turtle Mary Sue character, and a way too idealistic future. With awful jokes and kiddish tendencies. And for 'what it used to be'. I hate that. I don't enjoy seeing what they did to the characters. I hate 'it's Ninja Time'...

And now, before I go away... With many things I'd like to say... I wish FF would go away.

I do not enjoy Gary Stu. I do not like the things they do.
I wish it would have stayed the same; Before they made it way too tame.
The weapons I can do without, the characters that hold no clout.
I do not like it on Fox Box... I cast it away with a pox.
I do not like it in my house... The way Splinter's a meeker mouse.
I do not like it here or there... I do not like it ANYwhere...
I do not like it in the morn, I do not like downloading...

(Wow, I'll stop now. ;) )

I will not like FF at all. I hope it changes in the fall.

Firstly, I was referring to the fact they had too many similar episodes air right after each other. I.e. that one about the queens fighting, which was followed by the Winged guy fighting other winged guys... basically stuff like that. I mean, I have no problem with them following the Atlintian story arch (which was lousy, I can't lie), but that intergalactic political battle episode really went nowhere, and really didn't set up anything. And it could have aired whenever.

But I will agree they seem like seconds to Cody half the time. I really dislkie Cody, myself. Biggles and Serling do elicit a chuckle from me now and then, but Cody? Bland.

AS I said in the other thread, Cody needs to awaken his inner Casey. he needs to throw off the propper geek in him, and just go nuts. He needs anger and depth. But then some turdbrain from ACT or something will bitch endlessly about how "He's a bad role model. If my son weren't watching Jerry Springer or Debbie Does Dallas at the moment, his tender 4 year old mind would be warped by those Mutant ninja mutant turtles!"

The main problem with FF for me is that it follows the whole logic of children's programming. Children like to see kids their own age not sitting on the couch doing nothing. I mean, a lot of Sesame Street old school fans do nothing but whine on and on about Elmo (trust me, I'm sort of named after a Muppet character, after all), without realising that 3 year olds love to watch someone there own age.

Now, I think they did go about it the wrong way. Look at KND... all of them are kids, but not one of them is bland and unlikeable. Not even the "Token" African American character. Cow and Chicken./.. weird crap, yes... but since they're kids, kids relate to them. Though personally, if I ever find anyone who can relate to thosew guys, well... I'm calling the funny farm on them. Arthur, same thing. They deal with kid's issues.

But what kids also like is Superheroes. They didn't really need Cody, if you think about it anyway. Though, plotwise, they would have had to fall into the future some other way.

But as much as I hate Cody, I hate Starlee more. I'm REALLY glad she didn't wind up being on every episode as the token "good female role model." And we as TMNT fans know what that's like...Next Mutation cough cough.

As I've said, I think the show is getting better for what it is. I can appriciate people not liking the turn, and I was one of the ones who was REALLY against it to start with. I folded, though. It's not great, but it's still pretty much a good deversion on Saturday morning.

And might I add, I actually think these new toys are pretty cool. I like the new toys better than the new series. I thought "Headlock Prime" was a good example of an episode that had potential and went nowhere. But I would LOVE a triple threat figure. I'll buy him as soon as he comes out.

Firstly, I was referring to the fact they had too many similar episodes air right after each other.

Dude, I do agree with you on this one, there were a few episodes all in arow that really didn't do too much to the plotline and yes, could have aired just about whenever. But I guess that's what a series needs once in awhile. Definitely just an idea the writers had and wanted to add it in somewhere.

...I really dislkie Cody, myself. Biggles and Serling do elicit a chuckle from me now and then, but Cody? Bland.

I can't believe I forgot about Biggles and Serling. As much as I can not seem to bring myself to take a liking to the Cody we have now, I hate Biggles and Serling even more. Well, Serling not as much, though I really think he is useless. Furthermore, I just don't enjoy the character of Biggles, I think he is ridiculously annoying and cliché, though I suppose I can understand why kids would laugh at his unfortunately typical lines. Also, I think Starlee is a pretty weak minor character as well, and in agreeance, I'm very glad she's been as minor as they've made her thus far.

Anyway, I suppose Fast Forward has the potential to be much better than it currently is, and can only hope that they'll do something more interesting with it.

I can kinda see where this was going, but I also miss tmnt 2k3. I had noticed that the "old" TMNT had several "storm the enemy base" episodes. The lost season seemed to give the show new life and direction though to. I really would like to have seen what a season 6 from this juncture would have gone.

Yeah....thats what I meant too...its NOT as good as the 2k3 series, but it does have potential to be something worth watching every weekend,so long as the storylines keep getting better.

Only thing I truly hate in FF(as already mentioned) is when they yell "Its Ninja Time!!!".......just awful.

As much as it's fans would like FF's critics to shut themselves out objectivly to the season so they have something to brag about if the quality improves, I still am.

And it still blows.
