So far its going great i mean only the toys are out and they are constantly flying off the shelves. The ones who are purchasing them now are just long term fans, imagine once the cartoon airs and the new generation gets into it? :o I was in a store the other night and this 30 year old parent is walking w/ her child in the toy section when all of a sudden she stops and got all excited and said WOW the ninja turtles are back! and her kid looked at her like why are you so excited and what are the ninja turtles. I then explained to the mom who was very interested that a new cartoon would debut on feb. 8 and she told her kid we are gonna watch that. Her kid then asked for a certain toy she picked it up for him, then she bought all four of the 12inch turtles for herself! then after she picked some up for herself her son wanted some, so she picked him up a 5inch don and mike figure. I think this era of turtles could surpass the last era. What do you think?

Just give me some good stories and action involving my favorite superhero group and I'm content. I could truly care less if the mainstream likes it or not.

Well it is important for the future TMNT projects not to mention a second season... Of course the comic will stay no matter how the show becomes...

if you guys really do like tmnt then you should care about how it is concieved by the mainstream, i mean it is the mainstream that will determine if there is a second season to the toon, if there is a 4th movie, if the toy line continues. I rather have all that then just a comic, especially a comic that up to this point hasn't had much if any excitment. But yes i to want quality stories and i am pretty sure the writers will develop great stories, but that wasn't the point i was trying to make w/ the post.

Thats's what I was saying. Buteven if it doesn't become a success, the comic will stay. Of course I wnat to see as many seasons as possible not mention a new mvie and the CGI miniseries.

And I can't judge the new volume yet since Im still reading the old ones, But I have heard that it hasn't got lot of action yet... Well Im sure it will get there.

There's a voice in the air: "If you tell good stories, they will watch!"

Trust me on this one. If the stories are interesting and action packed people will watch this show and it will be a hit. The show's creator's need only worry about writing a good show and releasing quality TMNT products (show, toys, and comics) and the rest will fall into place. I have very little doubt about this. The TMNT from Mirage are interesting characters with numerous facisinating story lines. If Laird and Co. stick close to the Mirage formula (which it appears that they are) than it will work, and the world will finally see that the TMNT are not a bunch of goofy pizza eaters.

Yeah, I think that has been one of Laird's intentions. To show that a TMNT show can have good story telling, good fights, and character development.

It's nice to see how Laird is the "Creative director" or something on the new show.

True dat Rat King, i can't wait till Feb. 8 when people see that they just don't eat pizzas and that they are heroes and they can actually kick peoples asses as compared to the original cartoon turtles.

heh, or so we hope. if you look at the original cartoon intro, which is all we have seen, it looks like itd be a much more action packed fighting-with-weapons type of cartoon than it actually was.

for the intro of the old toon i think that was the most weapon usage out of all the years it was on the air. :P

Yeah.... Well Actually the first intro was done for the first season, and So it was probably made by the japanese. And The first season had the action that the intro promised. Can't say the smae thing for other seasons... Would it have been so expensive to keep the Japanimators aboard...

I think one of the more important parts of the new cartoon is that it has a story arc with character development. Hopefully that will help bring people back to the TV every Saturday at 10AM.

Yes, the new show seems to have everything the old lacked.... Of coure almost all 80's catoons were like that...

As long as the new Ghostbusters comes out, those series won't matter to me anymore.

Beaker, that's gotta be very exciting for ya! :D Feb. 8th is also the day of my one year anniversary here at the Technodrome. Of course, as much as I love the Technodrome, I'm very excited about the new 'toon.

Oh indeed! Kind of neat to have my bday on a Saturday...hopefully that means folks will actually show up to my bday party. But yeah Im really happy with Fox. Sure those Fox Box shows suck like nobody's business...but between the new TMNT show and the upcoming 'edgy' Fox return of the Muppet Show I am very happy with them. So yes, very excited! I havent been this excited about watching TMNT on tv since the days of Double Dragon and Depeche Mode!

Double Dragon! I loved the videogames. Brings back tons o' memories.

Yeah, Fox Box's current line-up isn't all that great. The only shows I find decent are Kirby and Muscle (though I know many people hate those as well). Eh... With TMNT on board, however, I'm sure Fox Box will become much better. :D

Waitasec, diddya say that the Muppets are coming back to Fox?! I loved the Muppet Show!! When? When?

Yeah, I really couldnt sit throught the inaugural Fox Box day. I just kept thinking to myself, out of all these new shows...why is TMNT the only one that trys to do something different? Im really not to fond of the cheap kiddy anime, as it has got to be the sole reason people bag on anime.

Yes, so excited about TMNT.

And yes...the Muppets are back!(well they never went away, but have their proper return soon) It's sad how people view the Muppets as some kiddy nostalgia thing. Did anybody see that Very Muppet Xmas film on NBC on Thanksgiving Weekend? Youve never seen so much inuendo and offbeat satire in a Muppet production. So yes...

this Summer/Fall on Fox, a brand new edgy and audacious Muppet Show will debut. Starring Kermit, Pepe(gotta love PEPE!), gonzo, Piggy, Fozzie, Beaker, Animal and a slew of new characters. So between Farscape and this new show I think the Muppets and Jim Henson Company will finally get the respect they deserve.

Oh COOLNESS! I'm looking forward to a new Muppet show. The old one always had me laughing. And no, I missed the Muppets Christmas special. :(
