um sorry to break this to ya or anyone else who may think this is new..it's the same exact trailer as before.
The 5 minute or whatever preview shown at comicon was much better than this trailer. I really hope the REAL new trailer is better than this.

Sorry about this, it's just that when I checked MTV the other day, there was no TMNT trailer at all so I thought this was the new one, and as I can't actually see the trailer I had no way of knowing.

So when the real trailer is up tomorrow it still won't be available outside the US? What a rip off! Why can't they put it up on apple.com?
Chances are it will be up on Apple. The Warner TMNT teaser trailer links to Apple.com already. It'll be available online, one way or another. Y'all worry for nothing. Just chill.
way to get my hopes up, anyays
if it looks that bad, i think i rather wait for it to show up in another place.

it's up now!!
oooooh you have to let it play through the first one then it goes to the next one!!!
Great stuff! Well besides a few things I'm gonna point out...mikey's belch..not funny.
The backgrounds look great as I knew they would from the book I got at comicon.
The animation is good for cgi there are a few parts that are odd like I said mikey's belching.
I dislike Don's voice quite a bit it sound smore leonardoish.
Hear Raph's voice over a second viewing of this...he sounds exactly like casey jones should sound...I'm now sort of botherd by this.*sigh*
I allready know splinter will be fine even with mako passing on.
Another thing that botherd me was that Mikey said to don that moster looked like you're mom and he said yea it'd be your mom to...um I thought it's been made pretty clear that they aren't natural brothers but only brothers through the family Splinter has created? That just struck me as kind of odd.
My favorite moment though was the jersey Devil ;)
Oh I'd like to edit and thank whomever made splinter brown I always liked him so much more that way than brown or gray!!
Don't follow any link, start fresh from MTV.COM.

sound good, im not sure bout Raph's though, because the only people i saw talking were mikey, donnie, and Leo
Raph was talking when his finger was bitten.
(The trailer was the first thing that played, for me, when I clicked the link provided in the thread. )
Was it my computer, or did the trailer look bad enlarged?

I can't wait to see this in higher def... the video quality really sucks. (tiny!)
Heh, Mikey and his lame one-liners. Where you roll your eyes at the lameness, but it's still very Mikey to say things like that. I hope he does get a decent shot at butt-kicking during the film - Mikey gets shafted on that front far too often.
But it is looking really nice. The way the Turtles' faces are set up, the dialogue animation doesn't look too weird. And that brief glimpse we got of Splinter was cool.
...Just watched it again, and I was struck by how much I liked the look. Animation looks great, and the monsters look (thankfully) small enough that the Turtles could believably take 'em down as a group. Only minor quibble is a lot of things smack a little too much of CGI - it's a clean, sharp kinda look. But since they weren't going for photorealism in the first place, I'm not going to complain too much about that.
OK, voices.
Don sounds all right - I think I like the 2k3 'toon voice better, but no biggie.
Leo sounds great. I think they dubbed his voice over Don when it says "that can't be good." What do you guys think?
Mikey sounds OK. A little overacted at times, maybe... and somewhat similar to 'toon Mikey. I like him with a little smoother voice (like the first movie) but no heresy here.
And my guess is that the Turtle talking before the little thing bites his finger is Raph, wearing the Nightwatcher outfit. In which case, the type of voice he has is similar to the first movie. Doesn't sound like he has a strong NY accent though; I can't really tell.

Yea Leo's just fine they never seem to have a problem finding a voice for him.
Don he sounds way to much like 2k3 toon leonardo to me it's gonna get rather confusing.
And Yea that's raph you'll have to watch it a few more times to really hear the accent it's nycish but more so like casey jones from the first movie than anything else.

I ran into the other room and turned on "Attack of the Show" (I love that show!) and HOLY PIZZA I saw the trailer!
All the voices sounded good.
Donnie kinda sounded like his 2003 toon counterpart...Mikey sounded like Wayne Grayson's Michaelangelo at some points, and then more like Robbie Rist's Michaelangelo in other parts. Raph and Leo sounded good too (they all sound like teenagers!!!!)
The trailer was a little light for my tastes...but it didn't disappoint.
I can't wait to see this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree I may not like the voices now but I'm sure I'll get used to them Don does still sound to much like 2k3 leo to me it's really gonna bother me I think..everyones else I'll be able to get over.
And yea that was funny it reminded me of the other 2 old movies.
Ok, here are my two cents on this amazing trailer.
Animation, city design and just about everything in terms of making it look good is fantastic. Now to the characters.
Mikey: His voice was good in his little "I'm okay" in the teaser. Now that we hear him with more lines, it seems like he is sometimes over-doing the Mikey voice we all know (does that make sense?).
Don: Yes, he sounds like Leo at times. Especially at the end when he says she'd be your mom too, doofus. Other than that, Donny works.
Leo: His voice, when I heard it, sounded just like the older movies' voice. It was amazing. I think he has the best voice of the bunch.
Raph: This is what caught me by surprise. As Raph is talking, I assumed it was Casey because it sounds a lot like Casey. But as I realized it was indeed Raph...i watched it again. It's not bad but it gets the feel across. I just hope Casey sounds different.
Now to the other characters. First things first, Splinter looked amazing! No lines, yet he impresses. Casey and April (again, too skinny for my liking) looked good. All the doubt I had about the monsters has cleared as they look good too. Max Winters has this Mr. Incredible look to him. Let's hope he's badass. Karai, in that split second battle with Leo and again towards the end looks like she'll be set up as the ultimate villian. The jokes in the trailer were decent. Some stood out more than others. The same can be said about certain scenes. I loved when Leo came out of the airplane on the wheel. Also when Raph is tearing up the streets on his bike. I kind of wanted the trailer to have a dark tone in terms of seeing the brothers fighting and what not. They took a humorous side and I love it as well. I think this way, it'll draw in more crowds. Yes Mikey's belch wasn't that great (is it me, or did he look like a snapping turtle as he did it?). Other than that, amazing. 4 months and counting! The TMNT are back (I liked that they acknowledged the actual title of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
Edit: They had scars! What I mean is they were injured in that last shot or at least Mikey was. He had bandages on his arm. It's good to see them defeated and not just the invincible. It looks like there will definitely be some intense action.

12-07-2006, 06:33 PM
The jokes...were pretty awful.
That's the only thing I disliked about the trailer. Hell, even TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze was funny even if it was unintentional. I can just see movie review sites giving the movie a low score just because of the cheap humour and monster-esque plot.
I hope casual-TMNT fans also don't go into this movie expecting Shredder and co. I can see the backlash toward the movie because of "random" monsters and no recognizable villains.
Everything else was amazing though. I really want this movie to be a hit, but I'm not sure if it'll do as well as the old ones.

Just noticed an animation error - either a mistake or the scene isn't finished yet. Splinter's goatee thing looks like it goes through the table when he turns his head, and it's kinda stiff-looking. Maybe some hair simulation still needs to be run on that scene.
After even more rewatchings, I'm really glad about the faces. I was worried they might not be capable of being too expressive, but this trailer proves me wrong. Leo's "grr" face when he's fighting (what appears to be) Karai is great. Once again, I stress that I can't wait for some higher def clips to show up elsewhere. I am SO going to make myself a desktop...
I don't get the "Don sounds like 2k3 Leo" - he sounds a lot like the 2k3 Don, but with a slightly whinier/geekier voice. Remember, I don't think that "That can't be good" clip is Don's voice. Sometimes they'll dub stuff like that if it matches and they think they can get away with it OK.

I cannot access it from MTV....I get the dreaded black screen.
I don't get the "Don sounds like 2k3 Leo"
Until I read people saying otherwise, I thought that was Leo punching a hole in Mike's "yo' mama" joke. I wasn't paying very close attention.
The movie looks like an adventure of epic proportions. However, I wasn't as wowed by the trailer as I was hoping I would be. The jokes seemed weak, and I didn't get that feeling that this is a serious story (but, not much was revealed about the story anyway). I definitely am thinking this is merely a poor representation of the film though (which brings to mind the trailer for the Scooby-Doo movie; I wanted nothing to do with the film after I saw the trailer, but it turned out to be all of the most annoying moments in the film that made up the previews). Perhaps it will grow on me with repeated viewing, but MTV's page keeps screwing up and closing on me. So, it may be a while before I can get it working. :ohwell:
EDIT: MTV's page is working for me now, and the trailer fully grew on me after the first online viewing. It may not be a perfect ten, but it's still pretty awesome. :tthumbsu: But, I'm still certain the movie will be way better than this trailer.

I think you all owe a certain thread starter and apology ;)
Seriously though the trailer was cool, but not great. It's turtles, but it's something I would have wanted from a show not a movie. Mikey sounds way too lame in this movie, the original cartoon mikey sounded like a surfer but now like a pansy wannabe stoner kid. The jokes were awful and the mikey burp made him look like something from Disney.
I honestly think every since the next mutation they've been getting the voices all wrong. Don sounds way too high pitched, even worse than the 2k3 don voice. Raph sounds better than he did in the current toon. Leo sounds lame again, but Leo's never had a good voice actor. As I said before I loate the Mikey voice. I liked the animation a lot, just not the storyline/dialogue.
I'll still see it though, and hopefully the actual movie will prove me wrong.

Mikey: "Did anybody get the liscense plate of the thing that hit us last night?" *looks over at Don* "It looked like your mom, Dude!"
Don: "Uh yea...that would make it your mom too, doofus.."
Oh and on the MTV site you can enlarge the trailor so that it's practically full screen. That's what I did.

sorry or well not really sorry but it is just my opinion it sounds like 2k3 Leo to me more than a don. Hmm let me explain he sounds more powerfull than even leos voice...Leo and raph always have the most powerfull stern voices.
And perhaps thats what it is Don sounds very stern in this clip.

U can enlarge the trailor. There is a small square under it you can click on to make it full screen.

It looked like Raph was fighting in a cage or something, and it didn't look like he was winning. I also noticed April was with them in the same suit her movie action figure wears when they were all running into battle and Leo (i'm pretty sure that was him) was launching himself off opponents with each kick. I wonder if that scene is linked to the scene with the foot running with Karai in the middle. It could be that the turtles are trying to get in and the foot want to keep them out

Well, you know, when the voices for 2K3 were originally cast, Sam was doing Leo's voice and not Don's, and vice versa. They only changed it right before they started out!!
I'm more than thrilled. Don sounds close to 2K3, which makes me MORE than happy!! And yes, the voice is a familiar voice. Eh, I kinda like the 'unknowns' better than the stars, but... Hey! It fits better than I was imagining!
EDIT -
I just watched that YouTube one... And they were all about how campy it was the first time around, and how this new one could correct that...

^editing can be a marvelous thing. Kind of like how Superman Returns had different trailers that highlighted different aspects of the film: one that had a rock song that premiered during the OC, one that showed off action scenes that premiered during the NBA play offs. Hell the trailer for X3 actually made the film look good (ofourse when it sucked I was dissapointed) We are only getting a taste of the film and judging by the film it is premiering with, that kids christmas movie, I can understand why they went with the joke filled trailer

I don't know much about CGI, but I know one thing for sure: the Imagi team didn't do this half-assed. The city is beautiful (I loved them walking on that crane thing; I got a sense of just how high up they were...). The animation overall is superb, and even non-CGI loving types will be pleased, I think.
About the voices: I love the way Leo sounds. They always seem to find a decent Leo. Raph was nice, too, although he really does sound like 2k3's Casey. And Michelangelo...hmm, interesting that he DOES sound like Robbie Rist and Wayne Grayson in the same breath... at least for some of his lines. Oh and Donatello looks good. Sounds good, too. A definite complement to Mikey, as usual. Love the teched-out room he inhabits (I want the chair w/ all the keyboards so bad).
I don't mean to be greedy, but I wonder if/when they'll put up another trailer. Goodness knows Happy feet had at least six. TMNT should have another. I'm thinking late February/Early March....
Huh. And here I thought I'd be incoherent at one in the morning...

YouTube trailer video... BUT
Sorry, it's REALLY crappy. For those who have seen the MTV version, this is NOT an improvement. This should only interest the people who can't access the MTV site for whatever reason.
I recorded the trailer off TV with my DVD-R, but the DVD it made doesn't make my computer happy. The best rip of the video I could get didn't include the audio (NO idea why). I've spent over three hours trying to get it to rip correctly and I'm just out of options.
So I ended up playing the trailer on my TV and then recorded that with my digital camera.

Well this wins in my book.
Don doesn't sound as geeky, he sounds kinda more like Leo.
Raph's voice is okay but I like the new toon better.
Mikey is fine and Leo is as well.
That's it for voices. Looks like it has some good humor in it as well. Looks like I'll be enjoying this*Though I knew that already from the first trailer*

You say that like the TMNT ain't legendary. I'll admit, I thought they were the 2k3 VA's until the end (You know the "Yo momma" joke...). Awesome trailer, Makes the wait until March even harder. \
Here's the big question, now that this is up on the Inter-web, you think Mr. Munroe can reveal the voice cast?? ;)
"Legendary" isn't the first word that comes to mind when I think of the TMNT. Usually if it isn't along the lines of "completely f**kin' awesome" coming out of my mouth I prefer the word "epic".

I would cry in joy more than I did when... Jean died in the X-Men movie.
I don't give that much hope, with the monsters and such... But one can hope!!
hah yea same here but you know I think I'm getting don and leo confused with voices they are rather close in this it's kind of odd..hopefully it wont be as hard to figure out on the big screen.
But what I'm saying is that this movie don's voice reminds me of 2k3's Leo voice not 2k3's don voice people seem to be getting that confused. Like I've been saying I'm sure it will take some getting used to but I'm sure I will.
Also I just noticed mikey holding a pizza..in what sort of looks like the old toons lair?:o or:roll:
And also am I the only other one who thinks the joke at the end doesn't work because we've been told it's not the same mother or what not or am I just pulling this out of my butt? I swear peter laird or some one said they aren't real brothers.

I remember that "not real brothers" stuff from NT:TNM in order to not create any taboos if they wanted one of the TMNT to hook up with Venus but other than that I've always been under the assumption that they are brothers.

hmm I'm pretty sure in the 2k3 show they arent either..as well as mirage.
Oh well I know they are in the archie comics though and old toon.
But in the tournament fighters video game it also says they are from differnt places.*shruggs*

I think that joke is reinforcing the idea that they're brothers. Plus it could be different in this movie-- it's not like all of the TMNT backstory is exactly uniform! But I'm not sure Peter Laird knows if they're genetically related brothers or not, since pet shop turtles are not necessarily related.

I don't think it was ever established either way in the movie universe, though.

I know I know lol it's not like it's really a big deal either...since the movie world acording to Kevin (the director) is saying it is it's own world.
So they very well could be brothers the joke just didnt work for me because I was in the mind set that they wernt brothers but brothers in the sence they became a family of warriors with their teacher and master Splinter.:|
Ugh I seriously sound like I'm taking this to seriously but I'm not the joke is funny but it just botherd me for some reason like I said oh well.:ohwell:
The joke was funny to me because I have 3 brothers, and when they were younger they sounded and acted exactly like Don and Mike in that clip. :) It was more of a rolling-the-eyes kind of funny though. haha

... did Mikey just BELCH in this trailer? That ruined the whole movie for me
*cuts his wrists in the corner*
Seriously, the animation is pretty decent. And I don't mind their voices, they're acceptable... safe for Don's, whose voice is very Leo-ish. At first, I thought that Mikey grabbed Leo and then gave him that "Your Mom" remark later on. But after reading this thread and watching the trailer once again I figured it was Don in fact. That voice mistook me.

You know what? I really hate the way people are designed in this movie. The turtles look awesome, but Casey and April appear to be very... dollish?
Air Commander Leo:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/sdphost/tmnt3.jpg
Wow. Now that's pretty badass.
Putrescent, it has never been determined whether they're real brothers or not, except for the "Next Mutation" maybe. Dan says:
Are the Turtles brothers by bloodline?
That's a question that Mirage Studios has never answered officially, thus it's a mystery whether or not they're actually blood brothers. Regardless, they feel that they are, which is all that really matters in their (and our) eyes.
In the "Next Mutation" series, Leonardo stated in the first episode that the Turtles are not blood-related but are brothers in the sense that they were raised as such (thanks to Dan Calkins for pointing this out). This statement opened the door for the Turtles to flirt with Venus without concerns about correlations to incest - an obviously icky topic which is why elements from that show are not considered part of the official Mirage Studios canon.

So, they might be in this movie. Not that they remember a lot from their hatching times and who their real parents were.

As for them being brothers... Don't they HAVE to be?
Ok, at the very least, they were turned humanoid because they last thing that touched them before the ooze did was A human. Not FOUR humans. So, really... they all have that one human in common, at least.
As for the Leo vs Don voice... Maybe it's just ME... But I don't have a problem at all telling them apart... Their voices always were supposed to sound kinda similar, which is why the 2K3 VA's were reversible. *shrugs* I dunno. Maybe I'm just attuned to it or something.

Maybe we're better able to distinguish voices? I dunno, but take:
"I've got a bad feeling...
and
"Within hours we'll lose the city, and within weeks...the world.
These sound VERY different to me. Now, sarcastic Don speaks with a bit lower of a voice at the end, and there it's a little closer to the new movie Leo... but still different, I think. And at no point did the 2k3 Leo voice ever cross my mind while I watched this.
Now - where they have Don onscreen with the audio:
"That can't be good..."
Note the lipsync is off. I'm almost 100% sure that's dubbed, and nearly as sure that it's Leo's voice there, not Don... as it sounds exactly the same as when Leo speaks a few seconds later.

After watching the trailer again, I have this to say.
I can't wait!
I love all the voices.
Donnie sounds like 2003 toon Donnie a couple of times, but I think it depends on the situation they're in...I dunno.
Raph does sound a bit like Casey in 2003 toon (but MUCH better IMO).
Leo sounds good.
Mikey, after listening to it again, sounds kinda like Robbie Rist (the only time he sounded like Wayne was his first line in the trailer...Wayne of early season 1 anyway). I think he sounds adorable!
The trailer looked awesome, but I hated the burp part...it was just thrown in there and I hate it when trailers do that! It may be funny in the actual movie...but it didn't fit in the trailer itself.
I love the look of the characters.
The turtles look great as do the humans (I think April looks really cute).
I wish we had a better look at Karai...
I can't wait to see this!!!!!!

Looks awesome. The voices suck, but they are probably placeholders anyway (Sounded like the new 'toon voices). If you told me a year ago this movie would look good I would have called you crazy, but damn it, it actually does.
As for the brothers thing...The human thing is a moot point because that origin is no longer being used. There's probably no way in hell that they're all related by blood, but that doesn't mean they're not 'real' brothers.
Also, it was a joke, and a dumb one at that.

Oddly enough, you're using the Old Toon origin for that theory....in every other TMNT universe, the TCRI mutagen just causes the animal to grow, both physically and intellectually. Not saying they aren't brothers, but what makes a brother, shared blood or shared rearing?

That was awesome. I'm really excited. Unfortunately, I also have a problem trying to figure out who's Leo and who's Donny. If the voice that I thought was Leo turns out to be Don, it's going to be pretty weird since he sounds more like the current Don. Sadly, the human character design blows! Seriously, Casey and April looks awful!!! April looks like a 14 year old girl.
BTW, anyone else thought the lair looks like the lair from the first movie? Look at the surroundings during the "your mom" part. I swear it looks like a virtual recreation of the first film. I was kinda hoping they would live in the abandoned subway station though...

more than likely a book about azteck gods I'd imagine? or spells or something.
April looks like a 14 year old girl.
That fits since Casey looks 16 at the most. I'm wondering if WB hadn't snuck the premise of their 2001 cartoon pitch into the movie...
Also, I have to reinforce how unfairly harsh my review-in-passing was last night. I'm sitting there watching every second of AotS (because it will do more justice to see the trailer in tv quality than on MTV.com) thinking that they might show it at any second, but people kept bugging me to run errands and the phone wouldn't stop ringing... Essentially, life got in the way. So, by the time I saw it, I was stressed and in a less-than-cheerful mood.
So, while I liked it much better when I could get MTV.com to play it, it wasn't outstanding. However, since it's supposed to be shown with Unaccompanied Minors, I should have know better than to expect more than what it was.

I think it's safe to say that none of the teaser trailer will appear in the movie. That was designed for the sole purpose of being a teaser trailer.
Also...
More trailer options
Yes, a couple more viewing options for the new trailer, but still not the ideal hi-res that I know I'm currently impatient for.
1) Someone was able to properly encode the video from G4 yesterday. It's on YouTube here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTIEpH0inHs&NR). They also included the footage of the show before and after the trailer, which is somewhat amusing on the first viewing, but annoying when all you want to do is repeat the trailer over and over and over.
2) I found a downloadable .avi file on this site (http://www.blockbusters.in/bollywood/international/tmnt-high-quality-trailer-for-download/). The video quality is no better than the MTV version and there's a watermark. You can download it from that site, or you can download it here (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H4YVNOWR). The site is worth visiting as it gives a good summary of pretty much all the plot info that is known at this time.

I stongly suspect that this trailer is tailored to bring kids into the theater. The teaser was for us comic book geeks and older fans who'd love to see the Turtles hardcore. My guess is the film itself will fall somewhere inbetween. And as much as the burp takes cheeses me off, the facial rig on the Turtle models is shown to be pretty, er... flexible. That was actually my main reaction to that clip, after the initial OH HECK NO. :P

At first I was disapointed, but upon watching it a number of times it's kinda growing on me.
It's not a great trailer, it could have been better as some scenes are barely there for 2 seconds, some more Ninja versus Ninja action would have been good.
I think they're overdoing Mikey's personality a bit, he seems more crazy and rude than ever.
He's nothing like the original comics version, that's for sure.
Am I alone when I say that the whole MTV thing is a joke?
I mean, why limit your advertising of a movie to one country? it just seems ludicrous.
It was great seeing the teaser in quicktime, especially in HD, I wonder if it will ever appear on apple.com, how long will this exclusivity last?

uhhh....wow.
Okay, some parts I ABSOLUTELY LOVED and make me all tingly for the movie. Some parts were :dead:
The landscapes are fantastic, the movement is mind-blowing, the colors...deliiiiiciiiooouuuss.
KARAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already know she's going to be my favorite <3
The acting is....not convincing me at all. The voices kinda sound like what the TMNT tend to sound like, but....the acting just...ugh... it's giving me a 'hi, I'm acting for a kiddie movie so I don't actually have to put effort or depth into these lines' feeling >_< I'm sure going to miss the 2k3 actors. But, it's a trailer. Sometimes things sound 'off' in a trailer so, I'll hope for better (:
I actually didn't mind the burp... I'm not one for crass humor, but you know...it's Mikey ;p I liked the 'your mom' thing at the end much better though.... THAT really clicked the TMNT character dynamic with me.
But no, it's not 'comics' Mikey......... with the teaser and interviews it seems like we were getting all built up to think that THIS time it would be like the comics THIS time it would be THE VISION.......... but this trailer doesn't seem like that at all. It seems FURTHER away from it than the first movie and not by a little. I was really hoping for something along the lines of the first movie.
The Jersey Devil thing.... part of it was funny, part of it struck me as WAY too much like the same old same old in every kids movie lately. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something that's SO overdone and I never liked it in the first place and it's in all these slews of repetative animal-centric CGI movies that keep coming out.
Sewerbull, I'm with you all the way. Karai looks awesome so far...but April and Casey? It reminds me of the Hercules movie, not just cartoony but like... weirdly disproportionate and overstylized. Which REALLY bugs me in contrast to how well done and realistic the turtles and the backgrounds are. Splinter was kinda odd looking too but Casey is the worst. April is going to make me feel like I'm playing the Sims :P or yeah... BRATZ :x :x :x  They look totally out of place among the turtles and backgrounds, even compared to some of the monsters >_>
""Within hours we'll lose the city, and within weeks...the world." -- Really liked the feel of that little segment.
The turtles, like I said...look AWESOME! Great, great, great facial flexibility.
On the subject of the turtles being officially brothers or not...I thought I read somewhere about them each being a different species of turtle, thus...not blood brothers. (Although I think the whole importance of being genetically related is a bunch of crap...the most important people in my life are not blood relations and I could care less about the people I share the most genetic material with).

Someone mentioned earlier that this trailer is to draw in the crowds and they can't yet begin to show the 'darker' content (like the teaser). To be honest, I think it will draw in a big crowd. After multiple viewings, I've come to this conclusion: the trailer is aimed at the masses (mostly kids) but if we just concentrate on the last few seconds of the trailer, that is where you'll see the intense action. I slowed it down frame by frame and it looks crazy. So much action. The jokes are obviously there to draw in the kids. Watch the last few seconds (when the words Teenage, Mutant, Ninja, and Turtles show up). There's a scene with Karai and the Foot, Raph getting his ass handed to him, Leo fighting in the rain, and more. It looks crazy.

I like how all the logos have that little bit of smoke coming off them. I LOVE when movies individualize things like that (ie Matrix). And it definitely reminds me of NYC and the steam that comes up from the sewers!
Terr-that's EXACTLY what I mean. The turtles do look very organic while the humans stick out like plastic. Karai looks proportioned right and I thought I saw her hair flowing but then we don't see her face (well, not close up anyway). Reminds me of the Toy Story humans....kinda scary ;_; CGI humans in movies tend to look really bizarre for some reason. I dunno why, because I've seen some damn good CGI humans in video games. If any of you have ever played Dreamfall...those humans looked awesome. They'd need more detail and functionality for a movie, but as a design they're great and fairly natural and believable, for CGI.
But really...everything else is amazing and I'm feeling a really strong underlying story and character dynamic that I cannot wait to see in action.

ThemanthatwouldbeRaphael: Dude, who gives a **** about those lonley assholes ain't it cool news.
I was just pointing out the change of tone from the teaser to the new trailer, the way some of the casual people were expecting something different.
But some of the responses were quite scary and way over the top, some people were taking it far too seriously.
I know I've been a bit biased towards an original comic book movie, but it's time to relax, because this looks like good fun.
I think the trailer could have been better though if they toned down Mikey a bit, but the clips near the end do look pretty intense as someone else mentioned.
I really like the bit where Mikey jumps into Dons arms, I thought that was hilarious!

You hit the nail on the head here. People are taking this thing way too serious! I think one of the reasons why TMNT has had such a great fan base is because they are a humurous bunch of warriors, and each has a personality we can relate to.

Just saw the trailer on Youtube....all I can say is sweet! I just can't wait till March. They make Raph and Leo look so cooL and tough. Leo's fight scene with Karai...holy cow! That looks awesome. Don and Mike were so funny...
Mike: Did anyone get the number of that thing that hit us last night? Dude it looked like your mom!
Don: Um, that would also make her your mom. Dufus.
The monsters, foot and fight scenes look very intense. I loved the live action movies, but computers create so many other possibilities that you can't do live, making the movie super! The hard core stuff at first was rather serious, but I thought they were a bit too one dimensional and boring. The humor, and the silliness gives them more dimension. After the first story arc, the original comics had plenty of humor in them... I like to see the manifestations that show not only their weaknesses, their humor, personality quirks, etc. but also their strengths, talents, and the result of intensely focused training that is still in the process of being integrated in their core selves.

X-Men 2's novelization's ending is completly different, deliberatly done to avoid a major spoiler, endings differ, scenes differ, or are elongated, it really actually lessens the movie.
I know a good hanful of people who think the novelization of X-Men: The Last Stand by Claremont is better than the actual film, the same with people who loved the novelization of Superman Returns

Movie novelizations are ususally hit or miss. The Star Wars prequel novelizations are EXCELLENT and add a lot to the story that wasn't seen on screen. In general, novelizations are written based on whatever version of the script exists at the time it's being written. How it compares to the final movie depends on how the movie itself changes and on how the author decides to interpret the script. A lot just end up reading like a dull, direct transcription of the movie. I didn't know that the X-Men 2 novel had been purposely altered, though; that's interesting.
The thing with the TMNT novelization, though, is that it's a Independent Reader book (i.e. for kids). It's not going to be greatly in-depth.
I actually read the TMNT 3 novelization before the movie came out and while seeing the movie for the first time I was pretty much making constant mental notes about what did and didn't match what I had read in the book. The scene near the end when they're all ready to return to New York is quite different.
I have all of the new TMNT movie books on pre-order from Amazon, but after seeing the trailer I've decided I'm not going to open that box until after seeing the movie. I'll stick it out and indulge afterwards. :)

there's something awkward about the way he does that with his sais. Like it doesent seem physically possible. You would have to hold the sais pointing downward like he is doing but at the same time your body weight would pull you down making it impossible.

Anyway. I did my best to pimp out the trailer on a couple of message boards I'm on.
The reviews on wizarduniverse.com have been generally positive.

I have not the slightest idea why people are complaining about the voice acting. Compared to the 4kids show (which had abysmal voice acting at some points) this sounds totally fine to me, especially Leo's voice.
The trailer had tons of awesome moments, my only complaint is that the cutting got a little too hectical towards the end. Apart from that a really great trailer, I'm hoping for the best.

Sometimes they change around audio and video in trailers to make it seem cool. I don't know if thats the case.

First. The audience reaction to it was phenomenol! Both the grown ups and the few kids that were there. And the grown ups got a kick out of the few funny moments most deem as stupid.

Most of the mass audience seems to like the humorous part of the Turtles more than the fighting part it seems. I think it was what set them apart from other material.

That's unfair to say people are 'overcritical' because they don't like that part.

I don't care if you're laughing at Splinter.. or Leo or Don or Raph or whomever... It's just that some people don't find that particular act, or anyone reacting to it, funny. That's all.
And, I was a teenager once. I never found anything like that funny. My brother and his friends, when they were teens, rarely if EVER did things like that. ( They didn't, to my recollection.) So, maybe some teens act like that, but certainly not all.
Doesn't matter, though. It's all in someone's brand of humor. Apparently, it's not alot of people's here, and that's just fine.

humor is immature that's why it's humor, that's the point of humor. Super mature people don't have a sense of humor or ability to regress themselves to enjoy humor.
Just my 2 Cents.
On that note I find immature humor to be funny at times, if not most of the time. My favorite are inside jokes however. Stuff you and only a few other people will get or understand. Or if you quote something from a movie or show with correct timing and it's funny to those who saw said thing.
My style is mostly that. Like yelling "BEYAAAAAAA" over the intercom at work. I don't even like/watch the Chapelle show but that's funny and I know it's from that because a friend showed it to me.

also listening to Mike's voice, does anyone else get a Grep Cipes (aka Beast Boy) vibe from him? It reminds me of his regular speaking voice
humor is immature that's why it's humor, that's the point of humor. Super mature people don't have a sense of humor or ability to regress themselves to enjoy humor. My personal preference for humor is dry, witty, and sarcastic. I wouldn't consider any of those immature nor do I think super mature people lack the ability to enjoy said humor.

Look at it this way. They could be doing the other thing teen guys do and relate every little thing to sex.
DING! DING! DING! DING! We have a winner! Stupid sex jokes by 15 year olds are much worst than a loud burp.

If you think of smart-mouthing as mature... :P

Ok... speculation on the voices: Greg Cipes as Mike, Grey Delisle as Karai or April, and Clancy Brown as one of the Aztecs.

Um... the err... pleasure of not seeing the TMNT randomly relate anything to sex?

Ya know, watching this trailer frame by frame in QuickTime reallymakes me happy. The detail is phenomenal. Every drop of water, every little spark- Heck even the textured creases on Mikey's face-, they are beautiful. The animators clearly put their blood, sweat and tears into this. I honestly wish they had just waited a little longer and given this to us first, instead of the the crap MTV had up, but this more than makes up for it... :D

I just wanted to say, I love your avatar! Totally cool!:)
I...am...in...LOVE! *dances around* I LOVE IT! Love it to no end!
Don's voice is just about right for me. As well with Mikey, though a little over done with the teen jokes (but Don got him back. HAH! ). Leo is just perfect. I swear, he just blew me away with what I've heard. The only thing I'm not that happy about is Raph. His voice sounded too much like Casey. Then again, he was talking in a mocking voice, so I'm sure his normal voice will be different when we see more of him.
The people are okay in the face, I guess, but yeah...they could use with some meat on their bones and try and keep themselves from being confused as a new Barbie doll. But still, I'm going to keep my criticism to myself until I see the movie with my two eyes.
Until then...
"Aren't you cute? Want a butt kickin', little fella?"

Hate to bump an old thread, but I was at Apple.com earlier this evening and found that the second trailer has been put up in HD.

Heck, with my luck it's already been reported. In which case, there's nothing to see here. :tpizza:
