I went to the "Blast for the Past" archive to find out that Peter Laird updated a new picture and posted a review of the first episode of the new toon. Here's what he had to say about it:

"WOO HOO!!!

Sorry... just had to let that out, because I'm so PUMPED about the new TV show! Today (1/15/2003) 4Kids sent us the entire first episode (minus sound effects and music, but with all dialogue). I've already watched it several times, and I love it! It has what I consider to be the perfect blend of humor and action (almost exactly like the original Mirage comics). I can't wait to see the rest of the episodes!"

Woah... That's awesome news! If Peter Laird loves it, then I'm sure I'm gonna love the new show too. :D

Well I have had confidence in this show from the day it was made clear that it will be more like the original TMNT. And If Laird likes it, that is good news.

For some reason in my area, they don't show FOX Kids here, so I can't watch the new cartoon.

No, I want to see it with sound and everything. I'm stoked but I can make it three more weeks.

Way cool new. If Peter Laird..the TMNT Godfather saus WOOHOO! then the new show must be breathtaking (at least for those who know the Mirage style, luckily I'm one)

It can't go wrong anymore.... :tparty:

Oh, of course he was going to say "WOOHOO" to it. He's the one behind the entire thing, after all. Wait till the various websites around the internet start picking up reviews, and THEN we'll see.

He was behind the original cartoon too at first. And he was very disapointed what it became after the first season.

And from what we know about the show now, It seems that it will be everything Laird says.

Peter is the creator of TMNT, right?

Anyways, though this is nice to read, what did anyone expect him to say? Even if he disliked it, I doubt he would state it.

Yes Laird is co-creator of TMNT and you are probably right. But if he really didn't like it, He wouldn't make that big deal about it... The problem with old cartoon was, that he and Eastman had only little influence on the outcome. Most of their Ideas were scrapped. They had planned that the TMNT would Move in the technodrome at the end of season one... That would have been cool.

what do you mean the tmnt would move into the technodrome, like from that point on the show would only take place from inside the technodrome or the tmnt would live inside the technodrome?

Thats's just one example. But They didn't have much to say about the cartoon... Well this time it's diffrent' Laird is the "Creative Director" On the new show.

He won't make smae mistakes twice. This time he can affect what the show becomes.
