What villainous characters from the TMNT mythos do you feel could be the main antagonists for future installments?

Triceratrons/Federations, Bishop maybe....Savanti Romero....it could be a re-do of 3....*shrugs*

1st sequel: Baxter Stockman, Karai
2nd Sequel: Rat King, Shredder

I actually really like the concept of brand new baddies mixing with established baddies, like how we have Max Winters & the monsters and Karai & the Foot in this movie.

It's already been hinted that a sequel could have something to do with Shredder. If that happened, I'd want that to be the extent of established baddies.

i don't think they would do one with the Triceratons/Federation because they have the triceraton breathing helmet in the picture and the Federation blaster hangin up by the light in that Trophy Room picture from the new movie

bishop and rat king could be good, but they would have to be more than them 2 in the movie (atleast i think so), and it would be pretty cool to see a sequal with shredder, then then again, not by himself, like roseangelo said, i like the idea of introducing new bad guys with the old ones (it allows the TMNT universe to expand for more new wonderful stories)

I've always liked the idea of an evil Slash...more pumped up, more sinister looking...like in the Kevin Eastman Artobiography where he an idea for a fourth live action tmnt was a evil turtle but this was named Kirby (in the inside of the cover is where he various/different drawings of the character).

I was thinking for the next movie, they could use a resurrected Shredder, who could be explained as being alive again as the result of black magic. And they could introduce Baxter Stockman as Shredder's lackey, and the return of Tatsu as Shredder's second-in-command. This movie takes place within the TMNT movie universe, technically. so Tatsu should still be looming somewhere. I suppose they could modify him to include a personality similar to Hun's.

Baxter is too good a villian to be a lackey. I'd say, for the second movie, make Baxter the main villian, like maybe he was hired by Karai to steal the technology needed to resurect the Shredder.

I would like to see Baxter and the Mousers in a movie since they weren't in the original trilogy or the new movie. I suspect Karai and the Foot will stick around for a sequal as well.

Leatherhead would be cool, although he'd end up more of a good guy than a villain.

leatherhead was only a bad guy in the original cartoon (as far as i know of), otherwise he was an ally

Leatherhead was borderline between enemy and ally in the Mirage books. While he didn't intend to do wrong, his anger was too uncontrollable to keep him from hurting innocents. While similarly conceived in 2K3, it wasn't played up very well (hardly noticeable if you ask me).

Anyhow, yeah. Leatherhead and Rat King are both characters I'd like to see on the big screen. But, I hope not together. We'd need a mastermind thrown in for variety.

He's pretty much neutral with the TMNT, right now they seem to be on good terms.

Yeah, the Rat King and Leatherhead do need some movie treatment, but your'e right, not together.

You know, I like the idea myself. When done correctly, any villian can realy shine. It's all in the storytelling. My only problem with Slash is that I would want to reform him down the line and send him out in a blaze of glory, or on an epic journey of self discovery. Maybe introduce an evil duet, one Slash, one whatever, and have Slash reform while the other is just on a Venomesque hate trip. Dunno. I would like to see Ratking. Maybe do Leatherhead ala the Hulk, where he's not realy the villian, but more victim of circumstance.. Bishop could be nicely psychotic.

So no one else sees anything that could be done with Tatsu?

Warhorse

I'd rather see Hun than Tatsu, but that's just my opinion.

gobo
01-07-2007, 02:59 PM
I'd rather see Tatsu than Hun mainly because the movie should stay true to what it is. It is far less related to 2K3 than the live-action movies. Therefore, Tatsu should already be an established character in there somewhere. Hun being involved would require an introduction and would make it seem like too much of a 'typical' comic book movie. However, Tatsu was always just a lackey. His only concern throughout the movie would be to revive/protect the Shredder.

But, if you're like me, you'll notice that he isn't supposed to be even mentioned in this film, nor are any characters created specifically for a specific universe of the Turtles (aside from the original Mirage canon). So, Hun, Bishop, whitey Stockman, Slash, Cuddly the Cowlick, and plenty others are safe to say excluded from the running. And, now that I think of it, that would likely include Tatsu, Tokka, Rhazar, and any other character created exclusively for New Line's movies.

CyberCubed
01-07-2007, 03:02 PM
Hun wouldn't be used in a movie because its seperate from the 2k3 series. Although I doubt we'll see Tatsu again either.

Does Karai have a "second-in-command" in the new movie?

Warhorse
01-07-2007, 03:06 PM
Well, before you all go and bite my head off, the question is about what various TMNT mythos villains we would like to see in in future sequels. No where did I see the question just limit it to the comics.

Someone suggested Tatu, I suggested Hun, since he seemed to be the leader of that gang, while Tatsu was more of an assistant.

gobo
01-07-2007, 03:25 PM
Oops! :embarass: Didn't mean to demean your choices, Warhorse. I just meant to say that it's very unlikely that Hun OR Tatsu will be involved since they aren't 100% Mirage property. That's why they have Karai in this one. And, the closest thing we got to that kind of universe melding was April being a reporter in the New Line films, but avoiding likeness issues by working for Channel 3 and owning an antiques store. So, they can 'suggest' ties to other TMNT universes (constituting it 'parody'), but they can't outright admit it without paying hefty royalties to New Line or whoever. Technically, this is a brand new retelling of the story.

TerranigmaFreak

Well, as a kid, I always found Tatsu a very scary character. Even though he is considered a "lacky", I think he's an excellent villian.

I was thinking about the Shredder and Slash. Shredder needs to be resurrected in some way shape or form because of his obvious lack of life.
So, bring his essence back, possibly in a fashion similar to that in tails, perhaps not...But place this essence in a cloned or biologicaly engineered Mutant Turtle body. I imagine that would put Shredd's anger way over top and he would rechristen himself after coming to terms with his new condition of life. Bitter, Angry, and thirsting for vengence against all who've done him ill, Including his foot mystics or whom ever were responsible for his return as a mutant turtle, He sets out on a mission of destruction.

Savanti could also show up, chasing down the sacred sands of time that Splinter has in the Trophy room.

Any way...Just A thought I had after reading through everyone's ideas. Later....

They shouldn't have ressurected Shredder in the first place with TMNT II. But they did. Oh well. But anyway, though Shredders... uhm... Super Shredder's death IS a bit lame in TMNT II, I don't think Shredder needs another ressurection... I mean, come on! Shredder? Again? To be honest, I'm actually glad they DON'T want to ressurect Shredder again.

Anyway, about future sequels... I must say that I've been out of TMNT loop for 2 years and such, and I forgot very much stuff, but anyway. I think that Baxter Stockman with Mousers + Rat King would work out pretty well. I mean, IIRC Rat King is called Rat King cause he, well, controlled Rats, right?

Plus, the Mouser storyline could lead to.... *gasp* a tragical Splinter death! I mean, was there any TMNT universe where Splinter actually has died? And just think about the impact that loss of Splinter may cause. Raph can actually go insane because of that.

This may sound like a stupid question, but... there's a Volume 4? O_o Didn't know 'bout it...

Anyway. The impact of Splinter dying a natural death (I assume he dies a natural death in Volume 4? Or he is killed?) is different than the impact of him being killed...

I would also love to see a Baxter Stockman/ Rat King sequel, and maybe bring back Shredder for the third. A Rat King confrontation could lead to a lot of interesting and creepy:D stuff and they havent used Baxter in any of the movies yet, which actually kinda surprises me, so I'd love to see him in there too, I'm sure Baxter and the Rat king would make great enemies to both the turtles and eachotuher. I'm sure they could do plenty with the computer animation to give some of Baxters robotics life. And although the Shredder has been ressurected already...or something like that...I think bringing him back in the third would definitley give everyone a few breaths of fresh air away from him and maybe make his return welcome to some people who might start missing his presence in the tmnt universe and would be a fitting end to a trilogy. Anyone agree?

Seems I'm not the only one who thinks that Rat King and Baxter would work out well (points at Underoath :p )

Anyway. The reason why the only thing in the new cartoon I like is Season I (plus SOME parts of Season II) is that they killed the cartoon for me with all this Shredder overdosing. AND Baxter Stockman overdosing. Baxter had so many reincarnations, that it started to become ridiculous. Baxter as some mechanical spider, Baxter as a... brain, and whatnot...

So yeah. I personally do not want any kind of Shredder reappearance bar a flashback in future sequels.

Anyway. About future sequels. All further statements are my opinions, speculations, and whatnot. Anyway. I think that the Rat King is anyone but an evil mastermind. I think some will agree with me. This guy doesn't go for world domination, or something, and the main thing is: he CARES about his followers. I.e. rats. He cares about rats. Including mutated form of rats, heh.

The thing is, the Rat King and the Turtles... well, they, basically, don't like each other for some reason. Maybe the Rat King gathers so many rats that they actually start bringing harm to people (like the Rat King cares anyway....). But, the thing is, Splinter may be the bonding point between the RK and the TMNT. I mean, RK maybe could save/try to save Splinter at some point, and then learns that he and TMNT ARE connected.

And Baxter Stockman... well, I don't know how much Max Winters is an evil mastermind, but... we could change the evil mastermind part of Baxter Stockman. Maybe this Baxter just wants to help the city. I mean, the pesky rat concentration becomes so strong that it is dangerous. So he just wants to help the world or something by creating Mousers. Maybe he has troubles with funds to proceed with his, uhm... Rat Crusade! And he just notices the opportunity to use the Mousers as robbers of banks to continue his... "quest" or something...

Well, anyway, what I'm trying to say is that it would be cool if there would be no main villian or something. Several groups with different points of views on things, and basically, from different points of view they're all right. That would be cool, IMO.

What kinda gets to me is the fact that the TMNT, themselves, never got to truly finish off Shredder.

The first time: Splinter intervines
The second: The defeated him, they didn't kill him
The third: Shredder screws himself
The fourth: Zog intervines
The fifth and final: The Utoms intervine

Thats why I liked Return to new York part 3 so much. It was the Turtles, working together, managing to defeat Shredder. But sadly, they couldn't get the job done.

Well, at least the get a shot at the "true" Shredder.

That's sounds pretty funny. Know what they should've done the end of that ep? They should've had Michaelangelo imitate Jim Carrey from The Mask: "You were good kid, real good, but as long as we're around you'll always be second best, see?"
