I have only seen episodes from season 4, and I raelly like them. The early season 4 episodes are a lot better though. But have many of you seen season 5 and 6? Which season is the best? Many say season 5 is better than season 4. Oh, I can't wait for season 4 and 5 to be released. :)

Season 4 has a good chunk of lackluster episodes IMO. This is when the show was being mass produced and there ended up being a lot of junk thrown in.
It definitely has its good episodes scattered about though, so its not all bad. Looking on the official site over Seasons 5 and 6, there were some good episodes there as well.
The show got much better during Season 7, which is my favorite season after the 1st season.

Season Five is shorter, and therfore the quality does'nt suffer too badly, plus "Planet of the Turtolids" is a very fun two-part story
Season Six is good for the Shredder and Krang episodes, which are quite few and far between after "Super Irma", with one episode from season five finding itself in season six, but "Rock Around The Block", the premiere of the sixth season, is everything but a season finale where the Turtles are, again, beaten, and the world at risk from more than just The Technodrome, forcing them to rely on fate to save the day, it's an enjoyable and very different gem of an episode.

Yeah those seasons definitely were awesome in many places. Though I'll never like those stupid mad scientist episodes from season 4. As long as Shredder and Krang were in there the episodes generally turned out to be awesome.

I disagree. I rather liked episodes where they gave Krang and Shredder a break, and gave the bad guy spot light to some one else for a few episodes. It actually gave you the chance to miss them. I still think the writters missed out on a gem by not keeping Dontello's evil clone around as a villan. That would have been awsome, if they had just made evil clone Donatello a little more threatening and made him do more stuff other than compliment him self, I think he would have been one bad ass villan for the turtles to deal with, that might have usurped Shredder and Krang's villan popularity.
I don't remeber much of season five and six but I think they still had some great episodes in them. Mostly the charater centric episodes where a treat.

Does any one agree with me that the first 13 episodes of season 4 were a lot better than the CBS episodes?
Despite what Molly Bode would have us to believe, the CBS batch was aired before the syndicated eps of Year Four. However, I appreciated the CBS batch more. They sported a much more polished appearance. I thought that rescued the series from 'kiddy tripe hell'. But, the raw cheesiness of the syndicated 13, while very tempting, wasn't enough to win my favor.

I always found the CBS episodes to be more cheesy than the first 13, maybe I'm wrong, i should watch them again :) I do however like the syndicated episodes more, episodes like, Plan 6, Back to the Egg, Super Hero for a day, Manece, Maestro Please and Shredder's Mom are fantastic. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I dislike the CBS episodes, not at all. I do prefer the Shredder and Krang episodes over the solo-turtle-adventures, I seriously disklike many of the solo episodes of season 4. Any one else agree? I can't wait to see season 5. I hope they won't slow down with the releases just because they changed them from volumes to season-sets....

I did notice that the seasons after season three had a more vibrant coloring to them. Does any one know what animation studious did the animation for seasons four through six? It doesn't look like Toei animation style.
Season seven, looks like it had more or Toei animations touch than any of the previous seasons.
To the best of my knowledge, the were all by Fred Wolf Studios. I figured the stylistic difference between Group W's and CBS's batch was the amount of money put into them.

I remenber seeing a varity of episodes from those seasons when they were on TV.
I can only remenber like several of them and some memories of "could be TMNT" episode or some other series I got confused with.
But with the old series continiously being put on DVD, I'll get the chance to refreshen my mind on those episodes.

I liked how seasons 4 & 5 would have episodes spotlightling the individual Turles as well as vilains other than Shredder & Krang. Shredder & Krang are great but after 65 episodes with them, some variety was nice. I think season6 did much of the same, if I recall. It's been so long.

I just watched Super Irma and I have to say that i really liked it. This was also a pretty well animated episode as well. It had a pretty good balance of action and humour. Which is pretty rare in episodes from seasons five and six. And that is probably do in part to this episode being written by David Wiseman.

That's one of the few episodes I remenber watching on TV many years. All i can remenber is Irma obtain some powers and tries to use them on Shredder but her powers were already gone.
But the story might of been different from what I remenbered it to be.
What season is the episode where its a halloween party and the turtles go as themselves fooling Mr. Thompson, then i think a pirate boat attacked and what not..
sorry for being vague
The one with the pirate attack and the costume party was "RAPHAEL MEETS HIS MATCH". Burne Thompson wasn't in it, it wasn't Halloween, and Raphael was the only one at the party/cruise. This was also the only appearance of Mona Lisa, the female mutant salamander that was Raphael's only love-interest in the series (ttBoMK). Perhaps there was another ep that you confused it with, but I don't remember it. Hope that helps... ^_^
yeah, thats not the one the "pirates" part was the one i was unsure of so i guess maybe there werent pirates but everything else i do remember it.

That was Super Irma. What I found amusing about this episode is that Donatello in one scene lifts up her cape and puts a tracking devise on her LOL
I think it is funny that he opted to put the devise on the under side of her cape (where he can get a good look at her butt) instead of just the front side, which would have done just fine  :P

I think I definately like the CBS episodes (which I'm assuming is everything from Son of Return of the Fly onward?) more than the first 13... for the most part. There are some dull ones in there (Rebel Without a Fin anyone?!) but for the most part they seem to be more serious and less "cartoony" if that makes any sense.

Season (3), 4, 5 and 6 were too much about Krang needing energy to power up the Technodrome. But they had some good episodes. I liked the one about Gadgetman, and the Vacation in Europe season (which takes place during season 4).
