TMNT in SSBB

Did you guy's know that the ninja Turtles might have a chance of getting in Super Smash bros brawl? I actually got the chance to vote a few times a couple month's ago. I voted for Raphael and Shredder. It's not 100% they will be in it, but they have a good chance. If the TMNT do make it in brawl it will probably be only two of them that get in. I personally would like to see the combination of either Raphael and Michelangelo or Raph and Leo. The game is still in development.

That would be the absolute coolest thing ever. I just voted Raph and Mike, although to appeal to both an adult and a kid crowd I should have voted for Leo and Mike.

No it might really happen, Solid snake's from metal gear and is Konami just like the turtles. That is one of the companies they teamed up with to get more characters in the game.

No, Hideo Kojima (The Metal Gear Solid guy) is friends with the director of SSBB, which is why Snake got added to the game. They didn't team up with Konami. The game will only have a few non-Nintendo characters, and the TMNT aren't video game characters to begin with so they don't even qualify. It's never going to happen, sorry.

The creator of Super Smash Bros said no anime or cartoon or comic characters. Only videogame game characters who have originated on a Nintendo platform. While the Turtles had mutliple games they did not originated on a Nintendo platform like Mario or Snake.

Mad Dog and I can't remember the name of the 2nd player from Contra wouldn't really make great characters in Smash Bros IMO. All they ever do is shoot and jump, kind of hard to make a character based on something so limited. I'm wondering if we're going to get anyone besides the new characters already announced. Has there been any confirmation that there's going to be more? I'm hoping for Kuros from Wizards and Warriors even though I'm the only one who likes any games from that series (I only liked the 2nd one actually) and of course any Sonic characters. OMG if Sonic is in it, the very first battle I'm doing is Sonic vs Mario.

Yes Sonic is another character who might be in brwal, I would personally like to see Sonic and Knuckles get in. Even though they said no comic character's, me and many other's voted for the TMNT to get in. I would love to see Raph get in.

Actually, he said video-game characters that have APPEARED on a Nintendo system could make it in, because originally Metal Gear was for MSX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSX) then ported to the NES. That's why everyone wants Sonic in, as he has recently had many appearances on the 'Cube, GBA, DS, and a future Wii title.

But on topic, I voted for Mikey. He's the most popular and recognizable of the 4 for people that don't know much about TMNT.

When you look back, Mikey is the one that was in the most promos and whatnot. He was even in that anti-drug commercial thing. Even in regards to the new toon, he's STILL the one in the most commercials. At least, I'm pretty sure he is. I could be wrong.

I still feel that a turtle might be able to get in, it's not a very high percentage but maybe it can be done. Even though they orignated from the comics they have a lot of games on nintendo systems. If none of the turtles make it in, I would like to see Sonic, Knuckles and tails.

I know you want the Turtles to get in but they aren't. I'm a huge Smash Bros. Fan and have been following this game closely. In Japan there was a vote for what characters you would like to get in the game and the Turtles weren't on the list. Guys like Little Mac, Wario and Toad were some of the top choices. Plus Sakura, the creator said No to any cartoon characters or comic characters period. So they don't have a chance at all.

Super Smash bros brawl is up for pre orders now at best buy. It looks like it might release on the 6th of march on the WII.

Also, I'm pretty sure Konami does NOT have the TMNT licence anymore since Ubisoft is making the next game. Companies that own fictions rarely licence their fictions out to multiple game companies. So, seeing how Mirage is a fairly small company, I doubt both Konami and Ubisoft would have the licence. Anyone have proof of this?

I wouldn't be so sure. Seeing as Ubisoft is doing the first ever movie-based game, I wouldn't be surprised if Konami still has the option of doing more 2K3-based games. More than likely, they won't, but I wouldn't be too shocked if they came out with a direct tie-in to The Lost Season later on. I'd be surprised, but not quite enough to be shocked (because I agree with you as far as juggling programmers is concerned).

The movie license, TV show license, and comic license are all different. Games based off the show are dealt with by Konami, as games based off the movie are being dealt with by Ubisoft. WB is putting this flick out right? It was probably them who set that deal up.

I'm sure Konami will still be making TV show based games unless Peter sees that Ubisoft handles the movie game well and if Ubi wants to has them make the games from now on. Because from the looks of things Konami will have ALOT to top to beat this movie game.

I voted for Leo and Raph, but you have to remember, only 2-3 3rd party characters besides Snake. Sonic will most likely have one of those slots. And one character per 3rd party series, which means no Liquid, Tails, Knuckles or Shadow. Now this means that if a TMNT character had a chance, there would only be one, and others would just be color changes. But you have to realise that the TMNT have no chance. Sakurai already said no Anime, Comic, or Manga characters (enough though he's clearly using the anime versions of Pokemon, as well as useing the anime's main character, Pikachu). And since TMNT are comic characters, it means they have no chance. As much as I'd love to see Raph battle Donkey Kong and Captain Falcon, or Leo battle Marth, Link, Meta Knight, or Pit, it's not happening. Not in Brawl at least, but I doubt they will change their minds in future games.

I meant Originated. And they originated from comics.

And they for some reason never stated cartoons, which makes me wonder if Captain N makes the cut...god I hope not. They probably just forgot to state Cartoons at the time.

And Pokemon originated from Nintendo video games, not anime or Manga. They may have those, but then again, Mario and Link also had cartoons and Mario had comics, yet they started out as Video Game characters. So that shoots it back up.
