Hi everyone
Today was a good day.. I went to see Freedom Writers at my local movie theater. People behind the concession stand and I got into a discussion about what movies we would like to see this year. I mentioned that I am anxious waiting for the Ninja Turtle movie to come out. They all agreed with me. One even said, "Who wouldn't want to see that movie?" After I watched Freedom Writers, which is an excellent movie, I glanced to my right and looked at a wall. To my surprise, I saw a huge TMNT banner on it. It brought a smile to my face. There is hope for the TMNT movie. I wish that I took a picture of the banner as prove.

I caved and bought one of those on eBay. :tanime:
Hopefully I'll get it sometime this week.
Very cool that you saw it on display today!

I felt that everyone needed some good news in terms of promoting the movie.

I'm definitely hopeful here. I am doing my part to get my friends in on this. I have a group of friends from middle school and I showed them the trailer, and even though none of them actually liked it (I know! :o ), they got nostalgic and now we're all planning to go together. I convinced my housemate (who loved TMNT when she was, like, 5) to agree to see the movie, too. Her favourite turtle was Leo, so I took all the images of Leonardo looking cool in the movie images (there are, like, 30 of them) and put them in a folder entitled "Good God Leo's Hot" and showed them to her. And then she said she wanted to see it. ;)
Wow, sorry for the long and pointless story.

Ooh, that's almost exactly like my experience...except my school friends thought the trailer was pretty cool (although it's funny we remember the cartoon but not the live-action movies; two of them were like, "It's about time they made a Turtles movie!"). Most of them are casual fans, and are going to see it out of nostalgia. I showed them the stills on my laptop--a lot of us are 3-D animation majors--and they fixated on most of the Leo stills. Even if I wasn't a Leo fan, I'd have to admit he had a lot of really good-looking shots; the rain ones in particular look very "finished" compared to some of the other stills. I can't wait when the entire movie's done and see if the other turtles get some comparable shots as well. :D

Ah yes, the nostalgia. I haven't seen any banners, but they actually brought an article about the CGI movie in a local newspaper. My mother was like "Oh look, I remember those!"

Ahh...It's a great time to be a Turtles fan. :)

Whenever they see my desktop picture (Leo on the hanglider) they usually ask me to remind them again when the movie is coming out. It makes me ever so happy.

:D My desktop picture's the one with Leo in the rain with the 'WTF?' expression. Whenever I boot it up in front of people, they go all spastic: "Oh my God! Ninja turtle!" It's so cute. And then, of course, they ask whether I made it, and I'm like, "Oh, hell, no--it's from the new movie." And they're all, "So when's it coming out?" :D

I've been debating about whether or not to put up a TMNT wallpaper at work. I've had Doctor Who up forever and think of my work computer as my Doctor Who computer, while my home computers are my TMNT computers. In truth I just don't have co-workers cool enough to even notice my wallpaper, let alone that it has a Ninja Turtle (or Doctor Who) on it. :P

I've got Superman on all my computer desktops, but I am seriously thinking about adding the new TMNT images to at least one of them.
I love the way the characters look in this new adaptation.

Well, the Leo desktop's on my laptop that I use for school, so usually the people who see it are my friends and classmates who're into art and animation and CGI and stuff like that. They can appreciate. :)
I love the way the characters look in this new adaptation.
Yeah, they're really growing on me, and I love that their facial features are different and not just their eye shapes or skin colors. I became a fan because of the old series and I got sucked back thanks to the new 'toon, but now whenever I think of the turtles the images that pop into my mind are these movie incarnations. Weird.

I'm with you on that, plus I am a Leo fan myself.

The same thing has happened to me. These new designs have REALLY grown on me and I really feel that they're becoming my favorite style. Real judgment will come when we see clips that last more than a few seconds.

Tell me about it!! I hope we start to see more as the movie gets closer...of course it feels like its so far away when its really only 2 months.

My initial reaction to the designs weren't too positive at first, but now that I'm used to 'em, I love 'em. I don't have a favorite style, though... each has enough for me to love that I just can't pick. :P
Heck, Casey's even growing on me. Not sure if April's movie design ever will, though. Ah well, it's hard to please everyone. Maybe she'll act darn cool and I can like her for that.
Oh, and I showed my movie figure (Raph) to a fellow Turtle-fan friend of mine, and she loved him. Pronounced him a "great action figure," even. :tlol:

They are great figures!! I love mine...I have all the ones out currently except for April. I guess I will go ahead and buy her so I have them all before the next ones are released.

Yeah, Leo rocks. :D He got a lot of really impressive shots in the leaked pics. And I was gonna say, I love your sig.

I think one of the reasons I almost immediately liked the new CGI designs is because I kind of see it as a merging of the old 'toon designs (Mikey's round eyes, visible pupils, less bulky bodies) and the new 'toon one (slanted eye-shapes, all-white eyes in the dark, distinct differences in physical appearance). I even dug the human designs right off, mainly because I'm used to stylized, toony designs (a la The Incredibles). Their personalities ought to eclipse the way they look, though.

Oh, heck, no--I'm quite flattered, actually. :D My friend and I played around with a bunch of the stills after they were leaked and we still make sigs and avatars for our own personal amusement (and it can pass off as homework, I guess). I may swap it for a new one as soon as I come up with it.

The same thing has happened to me, the turtles in my mind got a make-over and look like their CGI selves now whenever I think of em.
