This site is less convinced this movie will be big, but they have a poll.
Every one here should vote "I will see it in theaters" to convince them!!

Wow, a bad review from one of those hardcore old show fan who refuse to accept any other incarnation. Yeah, he's gonna make a difference:roll:

Anyway, I'm sure the 83% of people who are gonna see it in theatres will shut him up.

I see myself as a TMNT fan, I really couldn't care less what incarnation they are in, if they're there then I'll be too. I'm proud to be in the 83%.

I suspect that the public won't pay much attention to reviews from people who haven't actually seen the freaking movie yet.

To me, the new incarnation of the Turtles seems somewhat inappropriate in the sense that I cannot imagine them as anything else than the original cartoon.
Who is this guy? Wait-- this is on a site dedicated to 'worst previews'? It's a WHOLE SITE about people commenting on movies they haven't seen yet?

Gimme a break.

OMG... I just read the review.... This part totally cracked me up...the guy doesn't know squat about TMNT:

For one season, the Turtles returned in another, less successful animated television series called “Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation.” That cartoon made the mistake of actually introducing a fifth, female turtle.

Really?? Next Mutation was a cartoon?! Uh... dude...do more research....

Also this one:
No celebrity voices will be used in the new film

So Patrick Stewart, Kevin Smith, and Sarah Michelle Gellar aren't celebrities???

 Yes, exactly. Oh it's sad really.

Well I consider them to be half celebrities. To me a celeb is 50% talent, 50% ego.

I'll give you that for Kevin Smith - I don't know enough about Sarah Michelle Gellar to judge her, but Patrick Stewart is 100% talent. Seriously.

No, what I was trying to say is, they're 100% talent. And where did you get they idea that Kevin Smith had an ego, he's one of the nicest guys in the world. He once stayed till 6 in the morning to do a fan signing just so he got to everyone.

Just cause he is nice to his fans doesn't mean he doesn't have an inflated ego.

This guy seems to hate everything other than the old toon...

In Conclusion: I think this film may have some fun in store for die-hard fans that still remember the Turtles, but I’m not sure that there really is an audience out there for this. I honestly thought that this franchise died down significantly years ago. To me, the new incarnation of the Turtles seems somewhat inappropriate in the sense that I cannot imagine them as anything else than the original cartoon. Even a little bit of nostalgia doesn’t fill me with the urge to go see this movie. The CGI is probably the best thing that this movie has got going for it as far as marketing is concerned, but I would personally prefer to sit through three classic cartoons in a row than see this. I’m not taking a stance of opposition, but one of total indifference. The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie strikes me as a major miscalculation and could easily become a flop.
The dude dissed the new toon....he's gonna have hell to pay... *picks up her pitch fork and tourch before starting to track the guy down*

I'm honestly not worried. In fact, I'm stearing clear from sites like this as much as possible. These are whiney little/big brats who sit at home and would love to dissapoint movies for everyone. I'm just keeping clear of stuff like this before seeing the movie for myself. I don't care if I'm throwing $10 bucks down the drain, because I know I'm not. I know that I'm going to enjoy a nice, well deserved come-back for my heroes in green along with some very nice realistic CGI before cheering when the credits roll, hugging whoever dares to sit next to me, and be on a TMNT high for the next two weeks while reading the reviews for it :)

Honestely, reviews like this are crap. Men fear what they can not see after all ;)

Jesus. And they taught me that reviewing something after seeing it is a sacred rule that should never be broken.

The guy may or may not like the concept of the new movie. But he clearly shows some ignorance in what he writes.

I send a nice message to the guy correcting the fact about Next Mutation that it was live not animated. He obviously never seen it.
And then I commented about how TMNT is not a dead franchise, and there is a HUGE following and many fans are over 30 and some in their 50s! I said TMNT won't ever fade away, they're here to stay. :D

Then I said, I thought the mainstream superhero movies are getting rediculous.

Instead of whining about the preview review, you can send messages to the person.
As for the fact that he mentioned there would be no celebrity voices, the review was dated 10-6-06; before we knew about Pat Stewart, etc.

I guess I'm thinking of his war of words with Joel Segal. To be honest, I liked Clerks 2, but I think Segal walking out (maybe not the whole drawing attention to himself) is a review in itself. "I didn't like it, in fact I walked out." Smith not letting it go and harping on it makes me assume he's a bit of an egomaniac....but let's not open this can of worms, this thread is about the bad review of a preview, not peoples view of Kevin Smith.

title is misleading, its a bad preview not review.
which is not the same, you can't judge a movie by it so its not bad, and that site especially doesn't seem too credible.

He loses every bit of creditability when he says Next Mutation is a cartoon.

I know this is off topic, but let me just finish this by saying: He did let it go. The only reason he did get mad wasn't because Segal walked out, it was because he made an ass of himself doing it, he tried to draw attention from the movie to him leaving. But in the end Kev let it go, if he was an egomaniac, we would still be hearing about it.

I had a feeling that it was going to be a bad review. The website address is worstreview.com. I will not pay attention to bad reviews about a movie. In fact, I do not read any movie reviews before the movie comes out....I would rather be my own critic. I did vote that I will see the movie during the first weekend.

To be fair the guy seems to just be voiceing his own personal reasons not to see the film ratehr than bashing it, but yeah, I'm wondering what the point of that website actually is. It's like allt hese Spider-Man 3 fan fics people started writing once they found out Venom was involved.

I understand why everyone is mad at this guy, but everyone should be prepared for this movie to get crappy reviews from critics. Sure, WE'RE gonna like it, but I expect critics to hate this movie as much as the original 3 movies.

I believe if there's one thing cinema history has taught us, it's that: "You can never please everybody."

I dont know. I can really see some critics at least giving it a mixed positive review. Everyone always says "the critics hate everything good, and only like the stuff i havent heard of, and if i havent heard of it, it cant be good" and the truth is..generally that person talking likes movies like Ultraviolet and Bad Boys 2 and just plain crap movies and that often those movies "no one'es heard of" are very good, and are very character oriented, and have very good stories.

And the truth is, everyone judges a movies before it comes out. Worst Previews is just an online representation of the general movie audience. When you see a trailer, you pretty much judge whether or not "it may good." obviously, I think TMNT will be good, but I know a lotof people who think it will fall flat on its shell, and under good reasoning that it's been a while since the series was really popular and a lot people just dont understand why they decided to make it now. I'm sure so far this month, each of you have seen at least one movie trailer, whether it be Transformers or Fantastic Four 2 or Norbit or Simpsons or Fred Clause or whatever and said "im just not interested, and im pretty sure thats going to suck!"

So its really not sad. Hell, newspapers like Hollywood Reporter and sites like Aint It Cool News are dedicated to this stuff, and obviously there are a lot of people who are at least willing to read what these guys have to say.

TMNT is coming out in a different time than the original did. I have a feeling if worse comes to worse, it'll just get 50% scale on rotton tomatoes.com,which takes all the critics reviews and scales them.

I was prepared for negative remarks from critics the minute I saw the teaser trailer for TMNT 2007. Honestly, this guy's remarks do not phase me one bit and I respect his personal opinion as it's just one dude's opinion and it's not like he's keeping me from spending my seven dollars at the theater.

^Ditto!

I could care less what these critics say about a movie, even when they are sometimes right. Once I made up my mind to see a movie, I'm gonna see it reguardless!

The other turtles movies got hit hard by critics as well so I expect no less from this. But even so I think it will deliver to us fans and that's all that matters.
