That's one of the DVD releases listed on a Toon Zone news item of 4Kids DVDs for the end of May, at least.

If this is an actual season 1 set of the new show (all 26 eps) I will strongly consider buying this depending on the price. I held off on buying all the individual discs in hopes that real season sets would be made at some point. Hopefully they put the season in one case so it's not just a box with all 8 dvd cases.

Not quite. Season 2 started getting out-of-order at Vol. 11 (Ultimate Ninja), and kept doing eps. out-of-order through the rest of the DVDs, in one way or another.

But yes, would be nice to have Sets for those that haven't gotten the DVDs.

Don't know. The other poster's are just pondering on it. Though. Season 1 was done in-order on the single-discs anyway. So won't be much difference in that aspect (other than if they do more episodes per-disc, thus having less amount of discs).

I'm sure it doesn't need to be said, but I'll say it anyway. I'll gladly get it if it's not just the first 8 DVDs in a flimsy cardboard box. I already spent too much on the 8 volumes. If this is an item that fixes all their previous screw-ups and perhaps even has all the same and more extras, I'm buying copies for everyone (maybe). ^_^

Oh, now this is good news. Admittably I'll buy the season set even if it is just a box with all the separate release (since I only own Shredder Strikes, Shredder Strikes Back and Return to New York from the first season).

And if it is an actual season set... even better. That'll be a nice sign for future releases.

As far as The Lost Season is concerned, 4Kids probably made an internal compromise to release it if sales for the season sets go well. If/when they get to season 4, TLS should be next. For that reason, I may very well pick up Fast Forward 1 after I get the season 1 set. More money thrown at Turtles DVDs being given the proper treatment can only help prove our point. However, I won't be getting FF2 until I have a S2 set. That's the deal they have to make with me. ;)

I do think it'll be all 26 episodes of Season 1 in a four disc set, probably with no extras. it won't be a 'boxset' maybe just a double sized amaray case. I'm glad they're going for a cheap prize, hopefully this doesn't mean something bad like just 13 episodes. Hopefully we get extras though i don't see them likely.

Oh, it's good. I'm just saying that TRSI (the source of this revelation) has been known to give us false hope before. So, until other reputable sources start saying they got the same story from Funi, I'm not so sure their specs should be trusted.

Absolutely! Parts 5 & 6 were skipped over for the videogame demo, so I'd be delighted to see them. But, I do kinda think they should separate them, and have them play before their respective eps. Sitting through 3 or 4 spoken overviews gets a bit taxing. And, it was great getting a sense of what Peter Laird looks and acts like, but I wish he would have said something that I hadn't already picked up on by watching the show. It was an excellent idea to start out with. It just didn't prove itself worth the production cost, I guess. Outside of Season 1, Pete & Stan Sakai cutting up in an interview for the 'Battle Nexus' DVD was the only other one.

How good were the extras in the volumes?
The first 4 Volumes as well as 7 & 8 each had ep-specific interviews with Peter Laird. All 8 had character profile shorts. Volumes 7 & 8 both had 3 a piece. There were some toy commercials, a short behind-the-scenes featurette and animatic comparisons featurette. Those were the good ol' days. Extras past Volume 8 were very sparse and pretty lame.

The sets should be in complete story order, completely uncut and unedited, no TV rating in the top left hand corner (that drives me nutz). It would be great to have commentary with Peter Laird on every episode and new interviews with him and everyone involved with the new series including writers and voice actors. I wonder why they are waiting so late to release them instead of putting them out when the new movie is released, that would be the smart thing to do, but 4Kids is not known for doing anything smart. At the time they decided to make the FF DVD, 4Kids was planning to make those 13 eps a full season. If we do in fact get a box set for FF, it'll be after Season 5 ('The Lost Season'/'Ninja Tribunal') which will be a while. That is, unless they decide to just take the two 13-ep Volumes, and repackage them in a flimsy cardboard box. Until we know for certain that 2K3 is finally getting the respect it deserves, there will be less people worried about FF getting a 'perfect' treatment. The 26-eps of (production) Season 6 is a very minor annoyance to most people, I'm sure. At least it isn't more than that... But, if (production) Season 7 gets a single-disc for all 26 eps (assuming it'll have that many eps) as its first release, maybe they'll fix this minor annoyance even sooner.

I don't know if I'll buy this set as I already have all the Ninja Turtles episodes. The removal of the bumpers would be a good thing as they were a pain when I ripped the episodes to my computer. I may consider buying the set if the Return to New York episode intros are restored (Season 2 had most intros missing) and if they do a season 2 set and fix the errors. I would definitely consider springing for a set if they remove those horrid TV Y7 labels, it messes everything up.

I'm glad I never got around to buying the previous DVD releases now. Actually, I lost track of the new series after the first four or five episodes. I'm looking forward to getting this and having a convenient way to watch the show.

10 bucks for a DVD is expensive? You know how much Pirates 2 cost when it came out? 25 dollars. Most DVDs run about that.

Plus other TV shows DVDs are usually 15 or more for a DVD. Anime can be 25 and up just for 3 episodes. So no 10 dollars isn't expensive at all.

And now the sets are 10 for half a season so it's an even better deal.

Yeah. I was talking to a FUNimation Representative about the Dragonball Z Season 1 set that had just come out earlier this month when I remembered that FUNi distributes the TMNT 2k3 DVDs. So, while I still had contact I decided to ask about the season 1 set for TMNT 2k3.

So, while it's still subject to change, that's the word from the closest thing I can find to the source on this new set.

(Hopefully they won't "remaster" it into "widescreen"...)

Ugh. :( And Video Universe claims (http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=7394965&style=movie&BAB=E) the release is only going to include two discs.

But then again, all this could be just errors. Video Universe recently changed their listed retail price from the average for a two-disc set to the $25 price RightStuf has, but forgot to change their sale price. 26 episodes for 10 bucks would be a great deal. :P

Also of note is that RightStuf will start selling the TMNT original series DVDs soon. All six volumes so far have been added to their site with an "On Order" message. :)

Yeah, figured that's what you meant. But Seasons aren't really that defined (at least they haven't been for a while). With lots of shows having episodes aired later then the rest in some way or another, but still considered part of that Season, etc.

I do hope you're right. Not having season sets of TMNT 2k3 was one of the greatest travesties ever committed in the realm of cartoons. Let's hope these sets will be able to stand the test of time.

I suppose I'm mostly repeating myself from the other thread, but this looks good to me. I'd certainly prefer to have a boxed set with the full season, but this is far and away better than the releases we've gotten so far, and as long as they're all in the proper order and nothing's left out, I will be buying them.

A lot of series have their seasons' DVD releases split into two "parts" - Transformers and Battlestar Galactica come immediately to mind - so it's not unheard of.

And again, the cover art looks very nice. It's got a cool comic book-style design that just works for me.

However, no such sets exist for 1, 2, 3, and obviously 5 just yet.

Yeah. I was talking to a FUNimation Representative about the Dragonball Z Season 1 set that had just come out earlier this month when I remembered that FUNi distributes the TMNT 2k3 DVDs. So, while I still had contact I decided to ask about the season 1 set for TMNT 2k3.

So, while it's still subject to change, that's the word from the closest thing I can find to the source on this new set.

(Hopefully they won't "remaster" it into "widescreen"...)

Hopefully they do. I have a widescreen TV. Watching it stretched isn't bad but if it was mastered like that maybe it would look better.

Cartoons look good in HD to my surprise.

I sure hope season 1 comes in a box set. Ive been holding off on the volumes for so long. Season 1 of the 2k3 series is probably my favorite cartoon, even over the 80s toon.
