How will you feel if you end up NOT liking the movie?

Its very rare that all TMNT fans agree on the same things, and truth be told, I bet there will be a few people who come back from the movie with a disappointed review. Because you know, there's always those handful of people who end up not liking a particular movie they were looking foward to.

So, how do you think you'll feel if you find the movie disappointing after you see it? Have you prepared yourself for what it might be like if, for some reason, you don't like the movie as much as you thought you would?

Considering we're about 2 months away, it may be something to think about.

If I find it disappointing. I'm going to go down the Warner Bros studios, and hold them at gunpoint until they agree to cough up the cash to remake it, then I'm going to kidnap everyone invloved with the movie and force them do it again, except better.

I'm not a harsh movie critic but there are a few things I don't like that I doubt I'll be seeing in this new movie:

1) Vanilla Ice (TMNT 2)
2) Bad fight coreography (TMNT 3)
3) Bad costumes (TMNT 3)
4) Bad one-liners (TMNT 3)

If those things aren't in the movie, I'll like it.

Seriously, though, I haven't prepared myself for such a circumstance. And I don't really think I can prepare--I'm having too much fun being excited about the movie to let that little dose of reality seep in. I do know that I'd be devasted if for some reason things didn't pan out, though.

im not worried at all about being disappointed. i was and then i read the novilization and it totally put me at ease i have no doubt that this will be the best tmnt film yet and maybe by far

I don't see how I wouldn't like it. TMNT 1 and 2 by my standards are terrible movies but I like them because their TMNT. This one has faith.

wow, i havent thought about this since I first heard the plot being about an army monsters...

seriously, to me, its damn near impossible to screw up TMNT. This is coming from a guy who actually liked The Next Mutation. As long as each turtle has their personality intact, then its entertaining enough. The action is just a bonus, lol.

Theres only been twice i've been letdown in theaters. Silent Hill and Superman Returns(upon first viewing, anyways. Speakers messed up, took me out of the movie:x still pissed bout that). Silent Hill I was convinced couldnt be bad, since judging my the trailer, it had everything it needed to be successful. Atmosphere, effects, music... where the hell am I going with this?

Anyways, lol, yeah like i said its hard to screw up TMNT for me, because the characters themselves are entertaining enough. I could watch them sit and eat dinner and talking amongst themselvs for 86 minutes, and I'd be entertained.

Oh Im pretty sure I'll like it. I read the novel and was pleased. However I've heard that they did some ad libbing...which should be interesting. What I wanna see the most is the singing scene.

Reportadly Splinter sings a lullaby to the turtles. A Japanese lullaby from Mako's childhood that they decided to add in. I find that really sweet.

Whenever I look forward to a movie I immediately take into account that it might not be as good as I hope and that disappointment could be lurking around the corner. This pessimistic approach works wonders to enjoy even the most mediocre movies, and that's the attitude I have taken with this new TMNT as well ^_^ Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst: recipe for pure enjoyment.

Oh, I can see it now. I'm massively hyped for the film... and hype can backfire on me. Assuming the movie is just disappointing... I probably won't say much at all about it. Now if I end up damn near hating the thing... I'll probably never shut up about it. :ohwell: To the point where years from now TMNT fans will be wishing I would just stop taking about it.

However, having read the novelization of the film... I just don't see my being disappointed with the film as having even a slim chance of occuring.

Won't happen. I am the least critical person in the world of movies. There is only one movie I can think of that I truly hated--"House of 1,000 Corpses." I also strongly disliked "Fargo" and "Elvira" (but only because I was too young when I saw them). A few movies have not really done anything for me (eg. "Snakes on a Plane"). But anyway, I am going to love this movie, just from the few scenes I've heard about and screencaps I've seen.

I've been preparing myself for that. I don't expect to be disappointed, but maybe my expectations will be so high that I'll end up underwhelmed. So I'm trying to make myself believe the movie is gonna suck... or at least be kinda blah.

It's like my dad says - if you prepare for the worst, you won't be disappointed... and there's a good chance you'll be pleasantly surprised instead. :tpizza:

If I end up really not liking this movie, I might lose all the TMNT hype I have left. Really, one of the only reason I'm still coming to this forum is because of the movie and the lost season. Because Fast Forward really ''killed'' the tmnt for me. If I don't like the movie, I'll surely forget about the turtles, for good this time.

So, lets hope this movie is good !

Thus far, the classic cartoon, red sky, the live-action movies, the new cartoon, fast forward have all succeeded in pleasing me. I'm sure this movie will do the same. I'll keep my reactions plain and simple:

If I like it: I'll purchase the DVD when it comes out.

If I don't: I'll just say I gave it a shot and just put it behind me.

I'm just happy this movie got made at all, cuz I dunno about you guys but I never expected TMNT to grace the silver screen again. I won't be disappointed because the entire movie is gravy to me.

I'm fairly sure, however, that it will meet my minimum standard for "good movie," which is decent storytelling... and Laird knows how to do that pretty well.

I never thought I'd see Rocky on the screen again either. I geeked out when I realized "now I can say I saw a Rocky movie in theaters". One thing today's movie trends have going for it, Nostalgiamania is runnin' wild!

i'm sure u can find little things they could have done better in every movie, but it is ninja turtles, so i don't care if people think its "bad" i'll love it, because i've waited a long dang time for this, and from what i've heard and read, i really think they can't screw this up, so i say....TURTLE POWER!:lol: all we exactly 6 weeks left! and i'm still excited

I'm just awesomely excited that there coming out with another movie I mean come on its been like over two decades, and anybody here knows we thought there would probably never be another movie again, so to say if its going to be a bad movie which I'm sure its not I am very excited that there is another movie and hope there will be plenty more;) and also great pic of mondo gecko mickey!

Not quite 2 decades but I know your excitement.

The only TMNT movie I can remember watching in theaters is 3 and that sucked even as a kid. I never thought I'd see TMNT hit the screen, hell when they made a comeback in '03 I was blown away. TMNT really is immortal.

Eh, I don't really think that'll happen for me. I've read enough, seen enough to already be happy with it. Usually if a movie is going to be crappy....I can tell before I go to see it, if I do enough research about it.

I think I know enough not to expect to be blown away by it. That's what happened with the first movie. It was kinda' mundane, yet mature and respectable. That's what I'm expecting this time. I won't be excited the whole way through, but at least I won't leave the theater thinking what a sell-out piece of garbage it was. BTW, I've read the novelization.
