Ive got the longsleeve with the shell on the back and the hoodie with the sais on the sides. Both very cool.

Wow, these look pretty neat. I think I'd prefer a new toon shirt, though -- or better yet, a movie shirt! That'd be awesome.

F*** Hot Topic. I'm not paying a cent for their over price garbage. Their T-shirts suck. They used to have good quality clothes now they fall apart faster. So by the time it's out of style and not cool anymore to wear it won't matter because you have to switch what you like by then.

And that shirt with Shredder would look alot better not on that ugly blue shirt. Looks like some faggy Ska kid T-shirt.

I'm sorry I have no tolerance of the personality-less fashion whores who shop at that sh**hole. Their attitude pisses me off to no end as it is, and you have no clue how annoying it is when someone asks me which Hot Topic I bought my clothes at. Like their the only store that sells band shirts. Hey assholes ever heard of a concert? You know bands play at them, you go to them and buy a shirt there. Guess that's beyond them to support the bands they like. They would rather pirate their music online and be to pussy to go to the shows so they buy fake tour shirts from Hot Topic that have the same picture on the front but no tour dates.

Sorry I tend to rant about that, somethings just hit nerves with me.

I agree with Spitfire, but less aggressively. HT is way over priced. I was gonna but the TMNT hoodie, but the $50 price tag was a bit steep.

Some REALLY awesome shirts there, but $20 for a t-shirt? I'm the kind of person that buys the cheapest clothes, and reuses them for years. I'm not fashionable whatsoever, but I save $$.

I'm tempted but there's just no way I can afford or justify the expense. Besides I don't like going into hot topic, it's too weird in there.

The shirt with the four turtles popping out of the center, that image is sticking in my mind like I've seen it before but I can't place it. It looks like the box art for the turtle cereal from the 90's, but it reminds me more of a movie poster or something. Maybe one of those coming out of the shells tours images?

Man I want that shredder one.

Yeah, HT is expensive, which is why I went YEARS without buying a t-shirt there. But when I saw the Mikey COWABUNGA shirt, I HAD to have it. I found/bought that before Christmas. A couple weeks ago I found a white baby doll shirt with just the old school logo - not something I would usually buy, but it was on clearance for $8 and at the time all clearance items were an additional 50% off.. well, I can't pass on a $4 TMNT shirt. There aren't any other designs they have right now that I'd be tempted by, though.

I REALLY want a movie shirt!!!

Buslady,
For what it's worth, I tried on an XL at the HT near me and believe me, it's not XL, it was tight and not loose and I usually fit into size L on most things. Not worth $48!:(
Save your money! 8)

Looks cool, love Raph, not paying $48 for it. Screw you Hot Topic! :P

(Especially since Target tends to have cool screen tees for $8, as opposed to $20. Wal*Mart as well...so yeah.)

I got the hoodie with the Sai in the pockets and the shirt to the right of that for Christmas. However, it seems Hot Topic doesn't carry anything except old 'toon TMNT stuff. I like the old 'toon a lot. It's what I got started on as a child. However, if I'm gonna wear TMNT stuff I'd rather be a walking advertisement of the comics.

That's the joke on them though, if they didn't blow their money on over priced crap from there they could go to shows.

You guys want a place to buy cool concert T's?

I'm more mad about quality to be honest. I got some nice thick shirts from there like 5 years ago. I got a Resident Evil shirt from there for Christmas one year recently and the damn thing was so thin I felt like I could put my hand through it if I wanted to.

Not to mention their pants suck. I bought a pair of jeans from them back when I got my shirt and the damn things fell apart on me after just a year. Ugh...I don't just hate the stores because a bunch of snobby idiots go in there and buy Mario T-shirts because "Nintendo-core" is the new "cool music" I also hate it because their stuff is crap quality.

Kendamu
02-11-2007, 06:43 PM
Wait. "Nintendo-core?"

I hope those idiots don't invade my space and make "Turtle-core." We already know that "Ninja Rap" is a total joke these days.

I got nearly half of those items at Hot Topic. My clothes are lasting pretty good, and I wear them on a regular basis. They are a bit pricey, but I have money, so twenty bucks for a T-Shirt is nothing for me.:D

What you do is go in when they have things at half price. I've seen the ads in front of the store from time to time. But TMNT wasn't marked down. I'm not into the old school toon, though.
I wish they still had the bumper stickers from the Mirage comics, those look to be good quality. I've seen them on peoples' cars and they still look like new.
I did buy a Mirage Don shirt a few years ago, I hardly wear the shirt, and the image is messed up already, starting to peel like a cheap iron-on. Hm.

Yeah, it's the dryer that kills those kinds of shirts. I used to hang dry mine until I got lazy about it. I like the washed looked, though, so it's ok.

Yes Nintendo-core, the new retard music trend where ****** hardcore bands have some loser play Nintendo songs in the background on keyboards during songs.

Horse The Band is the best example I can think of. My roommate loves them. I found their music to be horrid. Their TMNT theme cover was awful.

TMNT theme... cover?

I just looked it up on YouTube.

Must have been the one time I accidentally put it in the dryer, then! Argh! Bummer.

I've had my hoodies and Tees from hot topic for quite a good long while and havent really had an issue with quality. But far be it for me to speak against the serious Hot Topic angst in this thread. lol

Nintendo-core is just a joke that people took too seriously,

Horse the Band is more of a metalcore band with synthesizers, thats it, very few songs have to do about Nintendo,

when they were touring they decided to make an EP about Pizzas and its a whole cd about pizza songs, with the end being the cover of TMNT, which i agree is a bad cover but the pizza ep is pretty good.

Horse the Band is a pretty good band and the members are very cool. popular? hardly, not many people know who they even are.

here is a better example of their music:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Twokr090WM

as for hot pocket, they sell retro stuff from pop culture that is why you don't see comics or new toon tmnt stuff, its overpriced and the worst of all is not the store itself but the people who buy a spiked bracelet from there and now think they are punk rockers or goths lol

that is why i hate the store, though everyone has to admit they sell some cool stuff occationally that you are ashamed to buy. :P

I agree these T's are ovderpriced as well... but I can't say they don't look cool. HotTopic is okay by me. I don't totally mind Emo posers... punk girls wearing TMNT shirts? Now that is hot! I like that whole sexy nerd look, myself. I once spent an hour looking at punk girls wearing Sesame T's on that site. Kinda hot.

However, I'll say Newburry Comics kicks that store's ass, problem is, Newburry is a local chain. The prices are better, the selection is better, and the store doesn't look like some demonic closet. For the longest time I didn't go in, because it made me claustrophobic.

Basically I get my T's at Target, Kohls and (very very rarely) Discounted stuff from the Disney Store... they had a Scrooge McDuck shirt once. No way I could pass that up.

hot pocket? but btw checked out the breaking benjamin shirts cool find. lol and i agree with the nerdy girls wearing tmnt shirts is pretty darn hot, lol. i have a bunch of people that i know that wear the spiked bracelets and band tee-shirts they get from hot topic, i just think its stupid when they try to act like something they aren't..."this emo crap" .....but then yet again some emo girls are pretty hot:lol: take Amy Lee from Evanescence for example:D

(sorry if this is digging up, but i didnt have a computer when this topic was going on)

I agree about HotTopic. They've gone downhill majorly the last few years. I used to go there all the time(before 2002) when they were still decent and had good stuff. But im curious, does anyone have a pic of this sai hoodie? i havent seen it(and cant seem to find it on the sites provided). But i also agree about the overpriced hoodies, thats why i bought my Punisher when they marked it down to $20, and yeh, its an extra large and feels like a medium on me. And the best shirt i've ever gotten from HT is my Grimlock shirt that says 'Me Grimlock, Kick Butt', and suprisingly ive had it for almost 3 years now and shows no wear.
