Best and worst episodes of Season 4

A spinoff of the season 3 thread.
With the new DVD coming out in a few weeks, which episodes did you like most on season 4 and which ones did you not like?
This was the season in which Shredder and Krang took a backseat throughout a lot of it and random evil scientists began to crop up all over the place but was also one in which individual turtles' personalities were able to shine through on their own (each turtle with their own episode also didn't have Shredder or Krang in them).

As far as non-Shredder episodes go, it is much more difficult to pick out good episodes, but I will try:

Turtlemaniac (A good one-off villain in Monroe Q. Flem)
Were Rats from Channel 6
Raphael Meets his Match (I liked the concept of Raphael having a love interest)

Leonardo vs Tempestra was a truly horrible episode.

I think this season was probably the one to have some of the worst episodes even though I don't think it was an overall bad season. It's the one that I'm most familiar with (everything from 80 onward, at least) and I like familiarity. lol. Anyway, here's my list:

Favourites:
-Shredder's Mom || (was this the turtles' first time in the technodrome in dimension X? or their first time in dimension X period?)
-Son of Return of the Fly || I always hated seeing this one on TV in syndication just because it came on SO much (and the Big Cufflink Caper even moreso) but thinking back, I can't wait to see it again because it's truly a classic!
-Were-Rats from Channel 6
-Farewell, Lotus Blossom
-What's Michaelangelo Good For?
-The Dimension X Story
-Splinter Vanishes

Didn't like:
-Funny, They Shrunk Michaelangelo || One of my least favourites just because there's really not a lot of anything going on here.
-Rebel Without a Fin || This is probably my least favourite episodes because it's just so uneventful and boring.
-Donatello Makes Time || This was another dud one. It actually wasn't a bad episode I guess but for some reason, it just didn't click with me.
-Big Bug Blunder

This is based on not having seen this season in like 5 years so I need a memory refresh on a lot of them.

Shredder's Mom seems to be the first time ever the TMNT visit Dimension X.

persoanally what I am looking foward to in the season four release box set is the character centric episodes where they focus on one of the turtles. There where a few of them that I really enjoyed and Raphael actually gets a chance in the spot light in a few episodes. I'm really looking foward to them.

And why is there so much dislike for the Leonardo Vs. Temprestra episode? I actually enjoyed this episode and thought it was well done (for what it was) the only thing that I found horriable about this episode was Leonardo's voice. It sounded unnaturally high and squeaky for some reason (even for Leonardo) like the actor had a cold or something and was trying to cover it up.

I find that Leonardo's voice tends to be quite falsely heroic sounding, as if they're trying too hard to make him sound like a leader. After the first season, it wasn't natural to me.

I do like that episode though, probably my favourite Leo-centric one... well, tied with Unidentified Flying Leonardo.

Thats weird that you say that because I never liked Unidentified Flying Leonardo. I don't remember why but I remember being unimpressed with it. That and I think I was annoyed with the whole cliche stupid southerners flipping out about seeing crop circles and so-called aliens :roll:

What I liked about Leonardo Vs. Tempestra episode is that he actually acts genuanly funny in this episode. I watched this recently and found my self cracking up a few times at Leonardo's reactions. Also I liked the whole "sneaking into an arcade to play video games" at night thing to be very refreshing as opposed to just waltzing into one in broad day light with lame customs on to hide their idenities, which is more likely on what the turtles would do. And heck the turtles even have moment when they act like actual ninjas in the arcade when they are almost discovered by the matinance guy and leave in a moment, then go back a clean up the mess they left in like a minute when the matence guy complians about the pizza boxes. Sweet.

I also liked that this episode actually had Leonardo acting like a teenager playing video games and relaxing with his brothers in stead of him acting in his normal uptight leader role. I like when episodes occasinally deviate from a characters sterotype every once in a while and make them act diffrently.

I also liked the fantacy aspect of the episode and the whole roller coaster and news Van sequence. It was all very nice.
