According to Gary Richardson, Mirage CEO, Season 2 has been started. Apparently Peter Laird wants to wrap it up and bring the boys home. I couldn't explain to him how I thought the animation differed from the first few seasons to the new season without using the word 'cheap' :).

Good news I guess. By "wrap it up", do you mean fast forward or the show in general? I wonder if its too late to bring back 2k3.:ohwell:

I'm guessing he just means "let's get back to the present and continue kicking ass" or something along those lines.

I sure hope so cause I'd hate to loose the TMNT again

I didn't know Mirage was behind FF. I thought it was just 4Kids--and that Peter Laird never liked or wanted to be a part of FF.

If this is the first sign towards the return of 2k3, then I'm going to be pretty pumped.

I could've seen the idea of the Turtles being stuck in the future as being cool but I would've rather seen it as something of a small storyarc rather than a 2-season series.

Them being stuck in the future would have been cool... for a small period of time and if it were a billion times better done than this was. In fact, if you take the opposite of FF, and make it into a small story arc... you know... Let them keep IN character, keep on the character building, don't completely change tha characters, don't completely change the whole entire type of SHOW it was... then, it might not be bad.

Fast Forward was always part of the plan, and according to Dan at least, Laird still had to approve every script before they went into production.
I'm glad Laird wants them home now, but it does seem more like the entire series will end once they do.

What, you mean Leonardo suddenly making bad puns, like RAphael would have done in the old series? 'I'm going to drop a little light on the situation'...or whatever the 'Home Invasion' line was in the holodeck. I've sort of blocked it out :).

i really hope they return to the 2k3 version and continue on with the adventures there. that would be great.
Him saying season 2, couldn't he just mean the second half of the first season? I remember some words about how these first 14 episodes were the first season, and that FF was made into two seasons of 12-13 episodes.
I won't lie, I do miss ther 2k3 series, but FF isn't all that bad. I do prefer the 2k3 animation and if FF had been done like that, it would've been sweet. However, change isn't bad, and FF has been fun and different.
If they cancel TMNT after they get home, I will be uber pissed. My son turns 5 in May, he deserves to see his favorite show at least a couple more years, whereas I got to see 10 years of episodes in my time.
Please don't let FF be the end, I know the powers that be is seeing this.

are we to believe this?
I hope so.
Get RID of FF...get them HOME and BACK IN CHARACTER! And MORE comic adaptation.
Maybe Mikey will wake up in the present going 'whew, it was just a bad dream'
Since I was told by a reliable source that eps were being developed beyond 143 (>> #26), I get the feeling they won't be returning to their time before the Fall. For now, that's just a hunch.

If I had a therapist... They'd love FF... :P ;)
Mental distress, being exposed to this...

Not really. :P We've had Steve Murphy, Boardman and Kevin Munroe all join our discussions here. Just pick a card.

*snickers* Oh, you mean the ploy that they used for that one season of "Dallas"? The one where Bobby Ewing was killed (I THINK at the beginning of the season), and when Pam (his wife) woke up in the LAST ep of that season, he was in the shower, and the whole danged SEASON was nothing but a dream!
Sounds good to me, sys.;)

Don't forget the series finale of St. Elsewhere.....the whole series was revealed to take place in some damn autistic kid's friggin' snow globe for crying out loud! St. Elsewhere, WTF?!
...That really was VH1's WTF moment of 1988, you know.
I've always been thinking of that. Making FF nothing but a dream one of the Turtles had.
If they want to explain the animation change incase there is another season and back to the 2k3 style, it could all be because of a dream. Who knows though.

Oh, come now... Isn't it obviously Mikey's amateurish attempt at writing a comic? Why else would there be so many Mikey-centric stories? :P

Hmmm... good point Gobo. That would be much better than the idea of them actually going into the future. I mean, I hate Dream sequence type endings, but then again that sounds just about right.
Anyway, I'm very disappointed that the second season would mean (by looking at the titles) no episode in which Renet tries to get them back to their own time, causing something wacky to go on... i.e. they go to an alternate Earth in which they wind up in the old series. Having darker turtles interract with the cartoonier surroundings and making jokes about it. That would have been a good episode.
But I really hope this means that A) they aren;'t just ending the series completely, and B ) if they are, we'll at least get to see the "Lost season" on 4Kids.

Whatever happens I'm sure it'll be for the best. Hell even if this is just to end the series I'd be ok with it.
Though I would like them to go to the past and finish off that Karai/Foot Bussiness or the Hun/Purple Dragon bussiness at least. We know Bishop won't be taken out. Oh yeah and one more Rat King Ep would be awesome.

Even if the TMNT get back into the present we won't have 2K3 back and you guys know it. You saw The Journal didn't you? It'll be animated exactly the same, with lack of fight scenes, bad dialog and jokes, and they will just get some other annoying character to replace Cody.
If he seriously brings the show back to the way it was when it started down to the animation then cool but I don't see that happening. I mean it wouldn't be to hard to fix it up. Is it that hard to draw the TMNT shells using black lines instead of that green color? That bugs the crap out of me.

Didn't they use that whole "Whew, it was only a dream" bit in volume two of the original comics?

OMG. Peter actually agreeing with his main audience? Is he turning a new leaf? Now, if only he'd have that mentality making the TMNT v4 comics.
But seriously, I'm so happy this is finally done with. Just get this angle over with and we can deny its existence, like the third live-action TMNT movie.

It was'nt a dream. Mr. Braunze just altered everyones memories on the later events of the volume.

I kinda hope FF will turn out to be a dream >.> It wouldn't bother me normally how it would end/continue in their own timeline, except for one thing: Don. He's seen the future, he's tinkered with the toys, he knows how they work. If he goes back to the past, he will build over the top machines/equiment as far as current technology allows him too (more over the top than usual I mean), and that's not a good thing I think. They are ninjas, not...James Bonds supported by Q's toys.
So either erase their memories before returning them home, or let it all have been a dream! >.<

I would'nt doubt another wrestling episode on the cards either. Raphael is still technically the GWF Heavyweight Champion. Raphael's newer FF figure implies that the GWF have brought him back for another bout at the garden.

I actually have a little hope for the second part of >>, I forgot who it was, but they said that the second half turned out a little darker than they were expecting. Intriguing:D
That was boardman, storyboard artist for the 2K3 & >> series.

Really?! Oh, great! ANOTHER wrestling ep to suffer through!
I swear, if Raph wasn't my fave Turtle, I'd give this one a miss! Honestly! I love him, but I positively HATE wrestling! (Something he and I would probably butt heads about. )
*sighs* Which is NOT to say that I WON'T watch it, AND tape it (IF we have the satelitte back by then. If not......... Ugh, I don't EVEN want THINK about it right now!)
Triad have mercy, but I HATE my idiotic wrenchhead of a sister right now..............!!!

If you're talking about the whole "GamerRaph" thing, I totally agree. I want our boy back the way he was, his old handsome, hot-tempered self!!! Maybe HE likes his "new" form, but I DON'T!
