And it's an awesome episode. It could almost rank with some episodes of the 2k3 episodes. It delves into the past of the Foot clan and the ancestors of Yoshi and Saki, and it actually uses the Japanese names like Hamato Koji and Oroku Sancho, unlike the previous episode My Brother, the Bad Guy. It would have almost made a great (though never really done in the old show, save the pilot and a few exceptions) multi-parter, or even a great plot for the third movie (heck this may have even been an attempt to tie the series and the movie together, they were released in the same year.) It's low on comedy, and high on action. (Heck it might be because there's no Bebop and Rocksteady)

Anyone else remember this episode and what do you think?

Definately! This is one of my favourite episodes from the entire series! I can't wait for the DVD version to come out so I can see a decently-higher quality of it again. I'm excited!

Indeed. Its an amazing episode.

Episodes like this are what made Season 7 of the old show so damn good. Season 7 had lots of high quality episodes such as this one, which is why I hope the boxsets are released quicker so we can get up to them.

Aye... Legend of Koji is one of my fave eps of all time.

Koji is also one of my fave characters from TMNTOS next to Mona Lisa and Kala.

What's interesting tho is the origin of the name Koji. The TMNT, Splinter, and Shredder were in the mid 16th century...which is called the Koji Era (1555 - 1558 )

The name itself means Orphan.... *thinks* Little Koji Annie!

Yeah I made a topic about it awhile ago. I enjoyed it alot to. One of the best the old series had to offer. Plus Shredder was voice by Avery.

Avery wasn't Shredder often in season 7?

Not sure, but I know he went away for a long time, and came back in very few of the later episodes. I'm just glad he was in this great episode. It only made it even better.
