View Full Version : DVD street date already?
NinjaTurtles.com's latestupdate to the 'books of the future' page says that TMNT - The Collected Movie Books will ship July 7, 2007 to "coincide with the July 10 release on DVD of the blockbuster and cutting edge TMNT movie" It will collect all 5 movie Prequel comic books along with the official movie adaptation, so I'm in. ^_^

I can't believe they already plan for the movie to be on DVD in July. That's a bit quick IMO. Ah well I'll buy the TPB of the movie comics since:
1: I haven't been able to find em online
2: It'll add nicely to the movie comics I have from the original movies! Which are in storage. :P

The movie comics actually haven't been released yet. Hopefully next week.
Well... DVD releases have been getting faster and faster over time. Nowadays, as seen with this noting of the new TMNT Movie, is usually just a few months between theatre premiere and DVD release for many movies.

Yeah, 3-4 months is usually the standard amount of time these days. But ofcourse, this is prolly just a tentative date, so it could always get pushed back to late July-mid August.

They probably already have the DVD ready to go right now. They just want to wait after the theatrical run is over before mass producing it. Since a lot of filming is digital, they are able to work on the DVD to coincide with the theatrical release. Especially with animated films, such as TMNT. I just hope that this will give the film enough time to rake in some dough.

Not too long, in the last few months, WB announced they were putting all their support behind HD-DVD.

Dvd release already announced, huh? I predict a 1 disc regular edition and 2 disc special edition when it's released. Warner likes to do that.

Thats not true..they are supporting BOTH formats, and in a recent chat with WMV on the digital bits.com, which holds these Q&A chats every year, the representive continued to state that everything they release on HD-DVD will go on BD as well.
