You know, i just thought of this tonight...Anyone else think the person who created the little guy and his name is either a Martin Broduer or NJDevils fan? or both haha. Kinda just thought of that tonight during the game.

The NJ Devils are named after the Jersey Devil, so no. It's a pretty big myth here in NJ.

Uh...so you aren't aware of the Legend of the Jersey Devil??? It's a legend from Pine Barrens, New Jersey. Some say he was the 13th son of a woman who was tired of being pregnant. While Native Americans believe him to be a good spirit. Still people have been sighting him for centuries.
The Jersey Devil has been encountered in comics (Fantastic Four faught him and he's a Fable in Jack of Fables

Ooh this one sounds interesting: "In 2007, a film crew from Virginia will launch an expedition to the pine forests of Jersey attempting to film a documentary on the Jersey Devil. This is the first in-depth attempt to study the creature's habits and capture it on film."

Yeah, I caught that part, too. I'm in VA; I wonder if I could tag along...:)

I also know a couple cartoons that have an episode about the creature -- Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, and Extreme Ghostbusters.

No, thats why i came up with the wacky idea that the person who cam up with the little creature was a fan a Devils fan. Never knew about any sort of myth. Like i said it was just a wacky thought i had while watching the game last night.

Why is the little critter in the movie called the Jersey Devil, though? I mean, if you do a Google image search, there are some pretty scary drawings that come up ... don't look anything like that cute li'l red guy ...

Cute??? He's freaky looking to say the least with that scorpion tail of his! He's the Jersey Devil. Not every depiction of him is the same. Heck in the "Fables" comic he looks like a Moose with bat like wings!
