View Full Version : Favorite episode from each season

Pick your favorite episode from each season of the show. If you hated an entire season, ex: season six, then pick the episode you disliked least. Multi-episodes such as Rogue in the house can be counted as one.

Season One- Return to New York 1-3
This is by far the best gauntlet the turtles have ever faced. I felt this episode showed just how awesome the turtles are at kicking butt.

Season Two- Big Brawl 1-4
Ever since this series began I was anxiously awaiting for the turtles to participate in a tournament and I actually got my wish. What makes this episode even better is that Mikey was the victor.

Season Three- Same as it never was
This was a very difficult choice but I had to go with SAINW because this is my favorite Donny-centric episode and Don is my favorite character.

Season Four- I, Monster
This was another difficult choice but I ended up picking it because I loved the villain and the dark setting of this episode.

Season Five- N/A
I have yet to see this season so I can not comment on it.

Season Six- Invasion of the Bodyjacker
This is one of the very few episodes of fast forward that actually felt like it could be an episode from the previous seasons. The turtles and Splinter acted liked their usually selves imo.

Season One: "The Shredder Strikes Back Part 2"
It was as if the original Mirage comic had come to life and I totally marked out when Splinter caught the arrow with his hand.

Season Two: "The Big Brawl Part 3"
I loved how it seemed like everything was falling apart and the turtles were all seperated, but their allies stepped up to the plate.

Season Three: "Same as it Never Was"
'Nuff siad

Season Four: "Bad Day"
The action was so intense, and I loved how Leo was so bad @$$ taking down Bishop's chopper.

Season Five: "The Beginning of the End"
I've only seen the first five, so I can only comment on those. This episode showed just how grand the threat to the turtles really was, and the loss of the other acolytes was powerful.

Season Six: "Obsolete"
The Gungen seemed to be characters that could have held their own in the 2k3 storyline and their battle with the turtles was well staged.

Season 1 - The Shredder Strikes Back Part 1
I felt like the Leonardo special had come to life and that was always one of my favorite comics. Though Return to New York Part 3 is a very close second as I love the Leo Vs. Shredder fight.

Season 2 - The Ultimate Ninja
I really liked this episode, the fight was very well done, it was a good introduction to a new villain once Shredder was gone and a nice lead in to the Battle Nexus.

Season 3 - Same as it Never Was
For all the obvious reasons...

Season 4 - Prodigal Son
The cumlimination of the Leo story arc, I loved seeing Leo back and better than ever, taking down Karai. Tale of Master Yoshi was VERY close second, probably the best stand alone episode of the series.

Season 5/The Lost Season - The Beginning of the End
I've only seen the On Demand episodes (saving the DVDs until I reach them on my complete series run through) so this may change. It was just fantastic, very dramatic and very well done

Season 6/Fast Forward Season 1 - The Journal
Probably the best episode of Fast Forward so far. The quality really improved in some of the later episodes so I have higher hopes for the next 12 episodes.

Season 1 - Return the NY Pt. 3 - so many I could have picked for the bringing the comics to life moments, but the beheading of the Shredder was the ulitmate wow moment of S1 for me.
Season 2 - City at War Pt. 2
Season 3 - The Christmas Aliens - a perfect Mirage adaptation just barely squeaks past SAINW, and it has the cat
Season 4 - Grudge Match
Season 5 (LS) - Enter the Dragon Pt. 1 (watched so many back to back on youtube they're kinda blurring in my mind, but I can remembered a certain thrill watching this ep as the start of the "it all comes down to this" moments)
Season 6 (FF) - The Turtle Titan one (can't remember it's name)

Season 1: Shredder Strikes Back, Part One

This episode single handedly made me respect Leo. I always hated him in the old series but this one brought him home and I really started to dig Leo after it. I mean he got the **** kicked out of him and just kept on fighting.

Season 2: What a Croc!

A rather lack luster season, I wasn't to into it to be honest. This one being my favorite episode simply because LH is my favorite TMNT character and to see him in action again and twice as bad ass as the old toon was awesome.

Season 3: The Darkness Within

One of the darkest episodes of the series. I love the play on HP Lovecraft's Cthulu story. Not to mention the over all dark tone of the episode. People talk about how dark SAINW is but the over all quality of this episode dwarfs that. SAINW is overrated from a medicore story arc. It should have been a 2 parter because it was way to short for what they were trying to do. The last battle at the end was so rushed and the way the TMNT die becomes goofy. They can survive explosions and being shot but they get sliced in their shell and cut across their gut and their dead, please.

Season 4: I, Monster

In a season full of great episodes it's hard to pick just one. But this one takes the cake. The Rat King is f'ing insane and it's awesome. Not only does he kick the crap out of all 4 turtles and Casey but he had a real strong presence. I mean he feeds people to rats, that's pretty damn gritty. Truly one of the darkest episodes of the series.

Season 5: Enter the Dragons Part II

This episode was totally set up in a manner where if it wasn't done right it would be a total flop. But it delivered. It's hard to pick just an episode from TLS because it's all one big long story arc but this pulls it off perfectly. Shredder was the ultimate bad ass and he showed it well. Splinter really took an emotional blow in this episode too which I liked alot. It brought alot out in the characters and we got to see sides of villains we never saw before.

Season 6: Bad Blood

FF has failed to impress me but I see where it had potential and where it was ment to be dark. This episode is about as close as it comes to hitting that dark margin. It was cool to see the dark TMNT in action, but as I predicted they made Mikey's counterpart annoying.

Season 1 - The Shredder Strikes Back Part 1
What can I say? Leo is beaten, Shredder returns, everyone is frightened for their lives, and my heart was racing by the end of the episode. Best thing in the first season ever.

Season 2 - The Ultimate Ninja
We stop looking to the stars for any alien activity and go back to a seemingly normal life until the Ultimate Ninja comes and tries to duel Leo. I loved how the fight went all over the city, from the park to the bridge, and there were some nice cuts back to everyone in the "water dome", as I like to call it. And, of corse, there was the big family hug at the end. I just loved that ^_^

Season 3 - Same as it Never Was
I didn't want to go for it since everyone else was going for it, but let's face it - it rocks so much XD

Season 4 - A Tale of Master Yoshi
GAH! Why do I have to choose?! It's either Samurai Tourist, or A Tale of Master Yoshi, but considering which one I enjoyed the most...I just had to pick Master Yoshi. It provided a great twist on an old tale (Well, old to us fans :P), and I just had to love the story of Yoshi's life unfold before our eyes. Very well written and preformed *nods*

Season 5 - Lap of the Gods
The only episode I have seen so far, but man it rocks. I just love how the characters, old and new, are pretty sober (even Mikey didn't seem to be cracking as many of his trademark comments, but that's probably just me). It's such a fitting opening to a wonderful season! *hugs her box set closely to her chest*

Season 6, ie Fast Forward

....

....

...Oh, you wanted me to answer that? Really? Okay, fine. I'll stick with "The Journal", since it's the only episode so far which I have seemed to have enjoyed. Besides, it gives us hope that our boys will go home pretty soon. The main problem that bugged me with the episode was that they were still wearing and using most of the stuff that they got from the future. It's just not right on so many levels...

This is gonna be tough cause I do have a couple favs in each

Season 1: Return to New York - probably 2 or 3, I dont know which one I'd pick (Although I do like the Shredder Strikes as well, okay, just Mikey's quote to Mr. Spikey Pants)

Season 2: Rogue in the House Part 2 (I like Zog, what can I say) or What a Croc

Season 3: Same As It Never Was or Exodus Part 2

Season 4: Grudge Match

Season 5: Membership Drive or Legend of the Five Dragons

Season 6: this is tough cause I have so many (notice the sarcasm? lol) but I'll go with Timing is Everything or Bad Blood

Season 1
Shredder Strikes Back - parts 1 and 2

Season 2
What a Croc!
Return to the Underground
And possibly Big Brawl if I could see all four parts

Season 3
**Space Invaders - parts 1, 2 and 3
Hunted
The Lesson (Casey as a kid was a nice touch)
The Christmas Aliens
The Darkness Within
Same As It Never Was
The Real World - parts 1 and 2

Season 4
Sons of the Silent Age
I, Monster
**Adventures In Turtle-Sitting
**Good Genes - parts 1 and 2

Season 5
Fathers & Sons (Chibi Turtles, so kawaii)

**While Donny is my favourite turtle, I have this weird obsession with watching my fav character(s) tortured/put in dire situations (that and I'm fast becoming a fan of 2k3's version of Leatherhead)

BTW, I haven't seen "Fast Forward" yet, based on the opinions of the other board-members, should I even bother?

First season- Tales of Leo

Second season- The Big Brawl Part I (ok, so the entire Big Brawl Arc)

Haven't watched enough of the other seasons to pick one yet. But you bet I will return to this thread.

Things Change from season one. It's the first episode. I never saw much of the other seasons of the 2003 TMNT cartoon.

Season One: Return to NY part 3 Oh yeah! Go Leo!

Season Two: Secret Origins part 3 Go Green Machine! Kick that little utrom's butt!

Season Three: After much deliberation I must go with SAINW. I have observed mixed feelings on this ep but I love it!

Season Four: There are actually many eps I like from this season but I must choose one... Adventures in Turtle-sitting. Although LH's voice seems a bit off in these later episodes.:ohwell:

Season Five: Easy, Enter the Dragons part II. It's what the entire Lost Season was building towards and it did not dissappoint.

Fast Forward: Timing is Everything. I loved how they incorporated things from their origins and past adventures into this episode

Yanno...a list of episodes seperated by season might help here. I have sooo not watched things in order, and I have no idea which episodes are in what season. I do however, wish to give my very biased opinion...

Episodes by season. (http://www.ninjaturtles.com/cartoon/newsynopses.htm)

I need to not open threads like this. I'm determined to watch the episodes in order, aside from the 3 or so I've already seen out of order, and waiting for Sept. 18 for Season 1, part 2 is agonizing. 9 of the remaining 12 season 1 episodes I haven't seen sound *so* good. The other 3 I haven't read anything about because I'd just be torturing myself.

For the first four seasons, since I have not watched any FF and have only seen one episode of the 5th one:

First season: Tales of Leo

Second season: The Battle Nexus arc

Third season: Turtles against HATE

Fourth season: Prodigal Son

While the fourth season was not up to par IMHO to the previous 3, this episode more than makes up for it. It's just plain AWESOME. And the 3 episode arc that it is part of is extremely good overall too.

They prolonged Leo's pain way too much. Having just 3-4 episodes after "Cousin Sid" but before "The Ancient One" would have worked much better. For example, you could do "Sons of the Silent Age" and "All Hallow's Thieves" with a healed Leo just as well- if not better. In fact, putting just "Bad Day", "Samurai Tourist", and perhaps a couple more would have been optimal IMHO.

Season 1: Shredder Strikes Back (All the fights are amazing)

Season 2: Secret Origins (I just remember how psyched I was for these episodes, so much was revelead on top of great fights)

Season 3: Exodus (More amazing fights, very epic feeling to it)

Season 4: Good Genes (Wicked foot fight, even though Don got left out. Loved how everyone's mood was effected by Donatello's situation)

Lost Season: More World's Than One (I liked all of these episodes about the same, but this one stood out)

Fast Forward: The Freaks Come Out at Night (Loved the Konabo Turtles, reminded me of Slash)
The Milk Run (Love Zixx, and the Triceratons. No Cody, ninja time, limited stupidity)
Timing is Everything (Cool time paradox, Shredder/Foot fight.)

Season 1: Notes from the underground part 1: Just for Mikey and how adorable and young he seemed.

Season 2: Battle Nexus ark. There was alot going on.

Season 3: Not seen many but Hun On the Run: Just for Bishop fighting with his tie. He might just be my favorite villan.

Season 4: Bad Day: Very sad for a cartoon.

Season 5: None: I havent enjoyed what I've seen of season 5.

Season 6: Again None: I cant really take FF seriously.
