Theater in New York?

Alright, some friends and I are going to NYC for the first time next week. Pretty much the biggest reason we're taking the trip, is to see the movie in the Turtles hometown. :) I just always had a dream of this, so anyways...

Our hotel is right near Madison Square Garden. There's a threater like one minute away, but should I just go there because it's closest, or is there one really awesome theater in Manhattan that would be best to go to for an ultimate opening night TMNT experience? Thanks in advance.

definitely have a stroll around Manhattan. I have been to Manhattan once....it is lots of fun. I went there 3 week before the events happened in 2001. When I went to NYC, I went to the art museum, Central Park, and the water front. The art museum has some paintings made by Raphael.
