View Full Version : DVDs at Toys 'R Us
Just a quick heads-up in case this hasn't been "reported"...
I was at Toys 'R Us yesterday looking to grab a new movie Leonardo (naturally they were out of everything except Casey and April), and instead ran across a small-ish display of old cartoon toys and such, including a basket of DVDs all on sale for $8.99 - including the two-disc "Season 4" set. So if there are any 2K3 series DVDs you haven't gotten your mitts on yet, it might be worthwhile to check your Toys 'R Us and get them cheap.
This was in Canada (downtown Toronto), so no idea if it'd be the same story in the U.S.
I've been able to get Return to New York and Search for Splinter at Toys R Us for $5.99 each. Although about a month later they announced they were going to release season sets.

Our Toys R Us doesn't carry TMNT DVDs. I'll still check, though.

I bought all the DVDs the week they came out. I feared they would phase out fast since they weren't sets and I was right.
But now we're getting sets so I guess it doesn't matter.

I saw this on friday. Surprised on the prices. It is a shame they dont carry the original series.

I've seen Original TMNT DVDs at Toys R Us.
I have seen no new TMNT DVDs here in Aus for almost a year now. The last DVD I bought was "Ultimate Ninja", and ever since then I have never seen a 2k3 DVD on sale. Heck, not even anything labeled "TMNT" I have seen in ages. Well, save for some toys, but only the Deep Diving Michelangelo one seems to be all that is left. Also, there hasn't been a TMNT DVD section in months at my local K-Mart. It really makes me think...
I had no idea they were putting out season sets until now. I'm glad I only picked up the "Season 4" set, as they're unlikely to re-release that one. Jeez.
I am going to have to sell all the DVDs I have so far when they finally put out better season sets. But that's okay. Finally!

Yes (I'm in America).
As for Original TMNT, I've seen most (if not all) of the DVDs in Toys R Us at one time or another. Including the recent Season 4 Set.

When you guys say "season sets" you mean the 14 episode releases right? I thought it was confirmed that were not actualllllly getting season sets, just things like the "season 4" dvd set.

So far the only (actual) Season Set out is the Season 4 Set of the Classic TMNT 'toon. But the 2K3 Series will be having Season-Part Sets starting soon (with Season 1 Part 1 noted to have 12 episodes).

Well canada doesn't sell any original tmnt in any store I check.
The only time I have ever picked up an original tmnt in store was the very first season 2 years ago.
Ya having alot of episodes on 1 package is better than owning just 3 episodes per dvd.
I plan to get the season 4 dvd of tmnt 2k3 soon.
I am hoping Ninja Tribunal is put on the Season 5 LS dvd if it ever comes here.
where is there a Toys R Us in downtown Toronto? Do you mean the one at Yonge and Egg?

...And kick-ass cover art. :)

That's the one, yes. Alright, it's not really "downtown" per se, but close enough. ;)

Yeah, our TRU only carry old toon DVDs. I checked two TRU (well, ok. My brother checked one, heh.) And no new toon stuff.

You're in luck, my friend. 4Kids will begin releasing season sets of the 2k3 toon (albeit only in half-season installments) in the coming months -- I believe the first one is slated for a May release. Check it out!

While not a box set per se, this is even better! And look at that cover art; sure beats that tired old clipart, doesn't it?
