View Full Version : TMNT5: any chance longtime fans can finally get what they waited for?

TMNT3 basically sucked ass. The movie producers decided to use two generic boring ass enemies instead of the wealth TMNT characters from the 90s, as the AngryNintendoNerd says.

TMNT4 is going to do well because of long time 20+ years old fans of the original cartoon
The 2K3 series pretty much bores me to tears, so I'd hope instead of going down that path they'd go with KRANG!
That'd be so freakin awesome if they got James Avery back as Shredder and Fraley back as Krang..

Yeah, and while they're at it, I hope they include Venus too. And then instead of nunchakus, Mikey uses banana cream pies. Oh, now that would be one hell of a movie.

Yes Mikey! Destroy them with your delishiousness!!! All joking aside, the 80's cartoon rocked in the 80's. I think the new direction is giving a whole new generation a chance to experience their own versions of the TMNT, while providing the older generation with plenty of material to reminise over. I like the new direction. But for the record, Krang kicked A$$ !

I just wonder what it'll be called.

TMNT was in essence Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4. So would the sequal to TMNT be called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 5? Or TMNT II? Or The TMNT Return? AHHHHHH!!!!!

TMNT 5: the adult years

It has been 20 years since the end of the 4th film.. The turtles have grown up.. Now they have to work long stressful hours with house full of noisy baby turtles to take care of.

I thought the tmnt movie was based off of the first 2 live action movies?

Krang. lol.. i wonder what he would look like in cgi.

Also, I love the cgi look and I want them to contuine it like this.

Ramboraph4life aka Matt

And if the sequel is a hit and they make another, maybe it could be called:

TMNT 3-D....actually that would be pretty cool hehe.

Or TMNT 3: People 0 :P

Or heck maybe two companies could each make a movie...one do it like the 80's cartoon with Krang, etc...and the other be like the darker turtles like in the new movie, 2k3 series, etc...that way both parties could win...it'll never happen but lol just saying :D

Never a bad thing...

But that won't happen. The movies follow a less censor-heavy routine, which we all know forced the show to go that route.

I'll ignore the fighting if it doesn't happen again. Cool your jets, oakley.

Anyhow... I'd be interested to see where they go for the sequel (because there will be one. ;) So says Jo!! Listening, Kevin, dear? ). The only way they really could have done the Utron thing, though, was if they'd kept it in the second movie. Then it would have all tied in there. But, they didn't want people to say OMG KRANG... so that nixed that. Which will, I'm sure, nix it in upcoming sequels.

And so obviously Krang will not be in the movies, either. (Again, thank goodness. No offence, oh mighty forum leader.)

Unlikely, they're not going in that direction. They want to use people who haven't protrayed the characters before, rather than people who have already played them(which is why Elias Koteas didn't do Casey again).

And Peter Laird doesn't wanna use Krang. Give the guy a break. The Turtles have better villians they can use. Baxter Stockman, The Triceratons, Savanti Romero...Krang aint coming back.

Hmmm....TMNT 2: City at War makes the most sense for a sequel to me. Shredder returning would be redundant; it was done in the 2nd live action movie.(I think Professor Perry said the ooze was responsible for the Shredder coming back to life.)
But alas, I believe that if a sequel is made, they'd make up a whole new story again instead of using ones from the comic or the new show. What ever they choose to do, I will see it and love it.:D

I know I'm probably askin' for trouble by saying this but I would love to see Shadow Jones introduced into the sequel.

TMNT: City at War
See, that's exactly what I've been thinking since I saw the movie last week. Karai has Shredder cloned a la "Return to New York", and he doesn't like what she's done to the Foot Clan in his absence. So eventually two factions of the Foot go to war all around the city, and the Turtles get stuck in the middle, ultimately having to side with Karai (who brought back their worst enemy in the first place).

That would be amazing.

AquaParade
03-25-2007, 10:31 AM
As cool as it would be to see the Shredder in the sequel, I think it'd be a much better idea to have Karai's line at the end of TMNT to have more to do with her wanting revenge on them for what they've done to the Shredder, rather then just having the Shredder come back right away. A City At War storyline would be perfect for a sequel in my opinion. This way, we could get more development on Karai and see the Rat King(possibly just in the knick of time for a pg-13 sequel, think of the possibilities:D ) At the end of the city at war movie, they could give us some kind of return of shredder cliffhanger, and have him return in the third one for the final showdown with the turtles. That would be perfect in my eyes, anyone else like to see this?

Another route i could see them taking is having a city at war sequel, and hyping up the Shredder, but not having him return until the very end in some kinda of clone-esque manner that Karai had been working on. I could see him being hyped up and not appearing until the very end just like they are doing with Venom in Spider-man 3.

out of ALL the titles on this thread, THAT one is the stupidest.

I would like to see a subtitle to the movie, like city at war, or anything else that the movie focuses on. But, my suggestion was just saying that they aren't going to call it TMNT 5, even though it would be the 5th movie. They are kind of using the continuity of the first 3 movies, but they are also starting new with the movie franchise.

Yeah but I think a sequel would do well to feature Mikey and Don in the lead, give them a chnace to break out.

Then, if my theory proves correct and this does end up becoming a trilogy, then the third flick would be an equal balance between all 4.

I would so want a City At War movie done, but only in the way it happened in the comics, and that would require an "R" rating. I mean the 2k3 series had a pretty decent variation of that arc, but I've always wanted to see that arc re-enacted in full-effect.

 @ this guy calling any idea stupid; the irony of that statement coming from someone whose idea is to put Krang in the next movie.

I would so want a City At War movie done, but only in the way it happened in the comics, and that would require an "R" rating. I mean the 2k3 series had a pretty decent variation of that arc, but I've always wanted to see that arc re-enacted in full-effect.

I think most of us would want a faithful recreation of the comics(i.e. R) but if we even got a PG 13 City At War the nerd in me would :o

I don't think I'd want an R. That would be pushing things a bit too far, savoring the violence a bit too much. I'd like more serious violence to be there (i.e, blood existing) but you can do quite enough with a PG13 rating. The focus should always be on the Turtles, not all the limbs they're severing all over the place. And what I've seen from the comics has not gone into R territory yet - hard PG13 at worst.

Just my two cents.

random addendum: If I ever, ever had the chance to work on a Turtles movie, I would probably die happy. :tpizza:

I think I would be comfortable with you working on one as well. I think the focus should be on the boys as well.

The comics definitely got violent into R territory once in a while, but I completely agree that an R-rated Turtles movie would be completely unnecessary. Not to say I wouldn't love it (of course, assuming it was done right.).
