Well, my head is going into a bit of a spin here. I have finished watching the Lost Season a few days ago and a whole bunch of questions regarding weapons has arisen in my brain since the Lost Season weapons weren't destroyed like the amulets in the final Lost Season episode. I know for a fact that The Lost Season takes place before Fast Forward, so that settles one question, but yet it causes so many others to rise. Here is what I want to be answered -

1) The Lost Season weapons are clearly better than the original weapons the turtles had before. Will the turtles use them instead of their original weapons in the future? If not, why?

2) Now, let's imagine everyone has returned to their own time and Fast Forward has finished. What are they going to do with the weapons from the future? In "The Journal", the turtles were still using their future gear and weapons (although the stories were fake). Does this mean they will use the future weapons too? Or will they be destroyed? Or will they be put on display in a private collection in Splinter's room? I honestly have no idea any more...

3) I guess this question is a bit pointless, but here it goes. Let's say all of the new weapons have been destroyed. Will the turtles go back to their old weapons, or make their own versions of the Lost Season weapons? I'm asking this more for Raph's befit than anyone else's. His new weapons were bunrai(?), which is a bit of a dramatic change from sai. For one, these thing are more like two mini sickles chained together than two "daggers", for lack of a better word. This means adopting a different fighting style. And I took note that he was enjoying using his new weapons quite a bit in the Lost Season...

Well, I guess these questions are a bit pointless, but I really don't care. I really am curious about what will happen regarding weapons in the future of the 2k3 series (when another season is finalized, I guess...). If we look at things chronologically, things don't really make sense. And when things don't make sense, my brain fizzles out and melts on itself. Am I alone on this or am I just dumb?

Leo is still wearing his amulet when the Tribunal arrive, but that seems to be animation error :D

No. Tradition/sentimentality.

The assumed truth of the matter is that only living tissue can travel through time. This is exactly why we need to hope Darius never gets to try it. Who wants to see that hideous blob's naked butt? :dead:

True dat. Raph would love to keep using those Lost Season weapons, but carrying them with him would be problematic. He wouldn't be able to hang them on his belt without running the risk of slicing himself up. As for Mike's and Don's Lost Season weapons, Don got a spear, and Mike got an extra link to his chucks. Not very practical upgrades, if you ask me. They won't miss them.

Curiosity does NOT equal dumbnation. Not even close.

We already know they don't use them in the future, only the TMNT and not their weapons were brought to the future by Cody, hence the new upgraded weapons they use there.

2) Now, let's imagine everyone has returned to their own time and Fast Forward has finished. What are they going to do with the weapons from the future? In the Journal stories they kept their future weapons, but if you look at the picture in Cody's book at the end you can see Leo has his old style belt not the new FF one so I think it's safe to say the weapons go back to normal as well.

Well the opening of Future Shellshock before the TMNT go to the future shows them back with their old weapons so I guess that answers that question for you. I wouldn't mind seeing them with TLS weapons, but I think tradition would win out.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that ^^ Most definitely an error, since in the shot before and after he doesn't have the amulet.

The Lost Season weapons are probably dependent on the amulets to harness their mystic powers, otherwise they're probably no better than normal weapons.

Most likely but what a bummer eh? They would have come in real handy if they return to their own time and have to fight Karai. Wait, will she still want to destroy them after the events of the real shredder? I wonder if she will still seek vengence.

Having seen the series now I have to agree to some extend.

I do feel that the TMNT could still use their mystic powers and weapons without the amulets, BUT only if they had completed the Tribunal's training. Without that they need the amulets to channel their focus, hence the return to their normal weapons prior to FF.

Well, without the amulets, they can't really channel their chi into the weapons they got from the Ninja Tribunal. But more importantly, they were unable to take any inorganic materials with them into the future in the accident, so it doesn't really matter at the moment, anyway.

But when they made their own weapons using the machine in the future, they went with designs like their old weapons. So that's obviously what they prefer. So once they get back to their own time, I'd assume they'd use their future weapons, as shown in "The Journal" if they can bring them back. If not, they'll probably stick with the old school weapons. Though, who knows? They might just use their Ninja Tribunal weapons again.

Before they went to the future they were shown to have their old weapons again.

When they come back who knows, but like I said I think they would need to complete the Tribunal's training in order to use them to their full extent without the amulets. So it's more likely for them to go back to their traditional weapons.

And the fact that Leo would feel left out since he doesn't have the Mystic Sword anymore.

I was watching TLS again last night with friends (will probably finish it with them today), I'm actually thinking that a reason for Leo not getting a weapon (other than it making a dramatic moment when he gets one later) is because unlike the others back in Season 1 he above all learnt that it was not about the weapon but the warrior using the weapon. Think about "More Worlds Than One", the others all used their weapons to defeat the demon rats, but Leo was the weapon to defeat them. I'm probably reading too deep but that's how I see it.
