Hey everyone! Out of curiousity, how many of you have bought the COOTS album (CD or tape)? How many of you have the video? Did anyone see the show LIVE?! Now that would've been too cool. Alas, the only thing I have COOTS related is a broken tape  However, thanks to Kali, I may be able to create a CD. Too bad the song "No Treaties" sounds like it's messed up. Anyone know of another website that I can find COOTS MP3's?

I'm such a turtle-loser...I didn't see the tour, never had the album...totally missed out on the whole thing.
Does that make me a Twenty-something Non-mutated Turtlefan Poser?

Heh, so did I. I didn't even know there was a tour until I got online.

Nah, there are those who've never seen the movies, or picked up a comic. But for anyone who never heard the songs, here're some links:

Look on http://www.audiogalaxy.com
Type in tmnt - then the song name your looking for. You will need the Audiogalaxy Satelitte Program to download the songs your looking for.

Ahoy, matey! Thanks for the advice, Shred Dude! I'll look into it. I've tried audio galaxy before, but I've never run a search using "tmnt." I've tried "ninja turtles" and "coming out of their shells," but I didn't get any results. Well, I'll give it a shot and see how it turns up!

Oh! I haven't tried Kazaa yet! Sounds like fun. I actually have the Cowabunga Shredhead video! One of the first TMNT vids I've ever owned. It sits along with the rest of my tiny collection, next to the TV at home. I think I'm gonna watch some TMNT when I go home for the long weekend  I can hardly wait!

Big news, true believers! I just found an AWESOME website called the graveyard mall. They specialize in selling merchandise that has been overstocked, or closeout merchandise. Well, guess what? I ran a search for ninja turtles, and they had four different TMNT videos, all UNDER five bucks! Here's what they're offering:
TMNT: The Movie for $4.99
TMNT: The Coming Out of Their Shells Tour (!!) for $3.99 (!!!)
TMNT: The Making of COOTS for $4.99
And, last but not least, the very rare..
TMNT: We Wish You A Turtle Christmas for $3.00
Man oh man, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm definitely purchasing the three hard-to-find videos (all of them supposed to be wrapped and unused!). Too bad they don't have tapes of "Getting Down in Your Town" or "Turtle Tunes." Still, this is a great opportunity to pick up one of these rare turtle vids, if you missed 'em the first time around! Here's the link: http://www.graveyardmall.com Enjoy!

*eheh* I have never been to a concert (it really kinda scared me, how gawdy the Turtles looked) when they came through town. I avoided that all the way.
Then, in 1997, a friend from Detroit got me hooked. She gave me one of the free audio tapes Pizza Hut used to pass around.
Then she made me watch all their videos too. Oh gah... the music, it's okay. But the video of the concert. Damn... I was ROTFL so many times cause it was so stupid in places! (lucky me, she made a copy of her tape)
SNAKES! SNAKES!! Ahhh! Then there's poor Splinter... gee.. I thought he was a teddy bear or an overgrown Ewok or something there.
Hrmm... I understand that if I had a tapeplayer, and a recording application ont he PC, I can make MP3s... can I use a walk-man tape player?
Does anyone know the steps I need to take specifically? Is it something I can also do through Adobe Preimere (I'm learnig how to use that this semester too).

*cringe* I think I will never get over those two videos... seeing them twice was good enough for me. That one with Raph getting sick from the carousel... The Carousel! The poor dude will be marked for life...
Of course, that was what I saw after surviving through wonderful hits like 'Raph Wrap'! *heehee*

 Well, at least you got to see the videos, HorseTechie! I have yet to see these obscure parts of TMNT history. Ah well, I won't mind adding a few corny vidoes to my TMNT collection! Thanks for sharing the memories, though. I can't wait to watch the vids now, after you talked about 'em!!
Yeah, I want those videos too! After listening to all the songs, I just HAVE to see the visuals.
Squeal! I was just setting up my station on Launch and guess what! They have the COOTS Tour songs! *happy dance*
I rated them all very high, of course, along with the sound tracks and a couple other things that I'm not quite sure what they were.

Internet radio, search for "ninja turtles". I guess you could search any music site for them. BTW, did you see the mp3 links I posted?

I dunno, HorseTechie, I'd still want to see the vids for myself! I just spent some time watching the first TMNT movie and the first cartoon episode. Ah, the memories! I'd love to see the "music" vids just for fun, even if Saban (AHHHH! Tell them to stay away from the TMNT!) was somewhat involved
And yep, I saw the links you posted, Kali! Many, many thanks, dudette!
*is about to pick Kali up and twirl her around again, but suddenly remembers RaphClone's fury*
Err.....so, Yahoo! shall be my next destination. I'll check it out soon enough. As for audio galaxy, I was able to find some decent Turtle MP3's. Not too shabby.
You're welcome for the links.
*reads over the Saban comment* Well, there was no direct mention of TNM, so I may let that slide.
And congrats to us! We managed to stay on topic!
azure turtle
02-16-2002, 11:57 PM
Yes! Staying on topic is a good thing! Another good thing that happened this weekend: I recently played my COOTS tape, thinking that it was completely broken. I found out that it was the tape player that was broken, and not my tape! I tried several different players just to make sure, and the turtles have never sounded better!
*does the happy dance*
Even more news: My cousin's husband is in a small band, and he has his own studio at home. He's gonna convert my tape into a CD! Nice guy, ain't he  Too bad I probably won't see that CD 'til spring break, but at least it's gonna happen.
*decides to wander off topic for a WEE bit*
Hey, I actually enjoyed TNM, but I thought it could've been a lot better if Saban wasn't involved. After all, it's the same company that introduced the *cringe* Power Rangers to the world. No offense to any Ranger fans, but I absolutely despised that show. And now, we return to our regularly scheduled program.
*turns on the TV and puts his "Leonardo Lightens Up" video into the VCR*

Yep, it's a total bummer. I think it'd be pretty sweet if they did remixes of the COOTS songs, but I think that's out of the question. They're not into the turtles

I've been listening to my station on Launch for the past few days, but it never seems to play anything TMNT related. What a shame.

Does anybody on here have a live365 account?
azure turtle
02-18-2002, 09:09 PM
Nope, sorry. I'm not really interested in internet radio stations, since my roommate has his own sound system that we listen to. I got excited about Launch because of the possibility that it would play TMNT songs. Alas, that has yet to happen.

Yeah, I went and searched for their songs, rated them high, lowered my other ratings, and they still haven't played any of those songs.
azure turtle
02-18-2002, 09:13 PM
I know! I did that too. What a ripoff (even if I didn't pay for anything....heh). Such disrespect for our beloved turtles. I should write an angry letter to Yahoo.
Ah well, I've got my CD, and a casette tape, and some computer files. I'm set.

i'm happy with my COOTS custom cd. If I had a live 365 account, id play tmnt music all day and night.
Yeah, but I've got Turtle Tunes and Christmas on my CD too. AND I've got Follow Your Heart, a tour song not on the CD.
azure turtle
02-18-2002, 09:22 PM
Argh! I want Turtle Tunes!
Follow Your Heart? Was that on the COOTS video, or was it only an exclusive song for the live audience?
I think it was exclusive, and maybe on the video. It sure wasn't on the CD. I still haven't heard Shredder's I Hate Music, though.

Curse the luck. Now I regret not going to a live COOTS show.
What was that? 1990? I was like seven. Wish I had gone. Wish my mom had gotten one of those tapes from way back then. Pizza Hut was handing them out, right? She works there, she could have got me one.

Bummer, dude. I thought my tape was broken, but it turned out to be the tape player. That's exactly why I'm converting the tape into a CD. I want to have a back up in case my tape decides to fall apart.
I wonder why my mom never got me one. She knew my brother and I were totally into them. With our luck, they were probably being handed out in late summer.

Hey, no sweat, Kali. Have you gone to the website I posted a while ago? You can still buy the COOTS tape (and even the making of COOTS tape) for a very small amount of money. Not a bad deal for something we missed out on during our childhood
Yeah, I'll look into that. It wouldn't take that much out of my moving funds.
