Yet another Fast Forward topic on the forums. Huzzah. *gets bombarded with many rotton tomatoes*

I was comparing the Fast Forward cartoon to the Mirage comic universe today out of sheer boredom. It got me wondering...how much better would Fast Forward have been if thrust into a very dark and depressing scenario? Honestly, when I first heard the concept of Fast Forward, I was imagining Darius being an evil tyrant who forced Cody into living on the streets, who in turn rallied up a resistance force trying to stop Darius unleashing his evil products onto the world or something like that. After a while Cody, who is now leading this resistance force, made the time window to study the turtles while training, and then something happened (like someone tripped and spilled a drink onto it) which resulted in the... "fast forward". No bright and sappy colors, no "Cody, the Wonder Boy!" who saves the day all the time, nothing like that.

That's how I imagined things. How about you guys?

I thought it was going to be like volume 4 of the mirage comics series..

Well, half the point of Fast Forward was to "lighten and brighten" the series, so the scenario you paint is a bit of a contridiction.

If 4Kids wanted to change-up the series simply by putting the guys into the future, without making the show suck, they would have needed to keep all the same style elements from the previous seasons. And instead of going with the Cody & Co. crap, I know I would have been extremely happy with them landing in a future akin to the one we saw in the Archie series.

Armaggon is my favorite TMNT villian ever. Yes, even more-so than Shredder.

my question what dose peter laird thinks about ff...i hope theres a way he could bring 2k3 series to direct dvd instead of 4kids cause seems like 4kids turn the turtles soft.i dont mind ff but dont water it down with kiddy stuff it was awesome the way it was the 2k3 and ninja tribunal...look how many people like the tribunal alots.thats find but at least put 2k3 series on dvd for us turtles fans.i know cartoon network wont air it so call cartoon station.every theres a tmnt series like 87 or ninja turtles or 2k3 ends up having big ratings over any other cartoons on either station it is on...net works is either cancel it or change cause its hurting their other precious shows.sorry just funny thoery i always had when that happens with any turtle show.dont listen to me if that sounds goofy mybad.i have bad feeling againg that tmnt might be the end the way 4kids turn it to ff.i hope laird knows what he is doing.

It really is such a shame they couldn't go down the archie road with fast forward I'd have been happy with that.

I'm not to sure about what he thinks of it, but I'm sure that he couldn't just stop using 4Kids and put things straight to DVD. It's no use if there is a small selection of people wanting it. The show needs to be constantly advertised to keep kids interested. That's what 4Kids does well, as much as I hate to admit it... *sighs*

Haha, I know. But that's what honestly ran through my head when I first heard the idea of it...before I head that it was going to be lighter and a bit more cheerful than usual. Then again, I am one crazy kook...
