I'm not sure what they are, all I know is that they came with the carded figures and while in the package, they are yellow cards with writing on them. I found this out here:

So, can anyone explain or have pics? Please?:)

I've never seen one assembled, but I do have a couple MOC and I think they're just a cardboard contraption to help your figure stand upright. Probably haven't seen one loose because they don't survive the ravages of time very well.
If this helps, I'm almost 100% sure that they only came with figures released in 1989. I thought my Pizza Face (1990) had one, but turned out I was thinking of the Rat King that I bought in the same lot.
EDIT: I dug through a couple boxes and I discovered a forgotten Shredder and a Raph (both from 89, not original 10-backs) with POP displays. Hehe, it was like Xmas.

Hey gang! Mutant pop-up Displays are a piece of cardboard folded once that opens like a greeting card laid down. It includes another cardboard cut-out piece that is a picture of a character from the toon that fits into 2 slots cut into the bigger piece of cardboard. On the back of the bigger piece of cardboard is a checklist of things available and soon to be realeased in 89. On the bottom of the cardboard (where the figure stands) is the characters name and a neat little scenario Playmates made up. I'm trying desperately to complete my momc set of pop ups and in the process of buying them I have got some really damaged cards so I would open them. Casey Jones comes with a cardboard picture of a foot soldier all tied up. Donatello comes with a cardboard Krang (out of his body). Shredder comes with a cardboard Donatello. Metalhead comes with a cardboard Rocksteady. These are the only figures I have had to open so far. The Pop-up Displays are really a neat display but they in no way help your figure stand up properly. In fact the figures are usually so bulky that they end up covering up the majority of the display behind them. There are 17 I believe not counting silly variants like Ace Duck who was available with a pop-up with either his hat on or off in the package. The first 10 figures come with a pop-up minus April and Foot Soldier. Series 2 came with pop-ups except for Krang. So:
1.Donatello
2.Leonardo
3.Raphael
4.Michaelangelo
5.Splinter
6.Shredder
7.Bebop
8.Rocksteady
9.Rat King
10.Genghis Frog
11.Usagi Yojimbo
12.General Traag
13.Baxter Stockman
14.Leatherhead
15.Casey Jones
16. Metalhead
17.Ace Duck
Very well said, though I would add that I do believe there's a Krang Pop-up as well...I do not own one so can't confirm but I believe I've seen one before...though don't hold me to that...:)
And to all of you newbies here, welcome to the T-drome!!
