Hey TMNT pals! Do you think Lotus Blossom influenced the creation of Karai? Or vice versa? (I think Lotus was created before Karai)

They are both female ninjas from Japanese Foot Clan. They both replaced the Shredder. And they both developed a difficult relationship with Leonardo.

What do you think about that? Do you think it's just a coincidence?

Karai came first I'm sure. But yea, I too drew a comparison, they certainly are similar.

Yeah just check out the whole City at war saga, there she is...There is this cool cover of her on Leo's back...

I would do them both... huh? wha?? What was the question..?? Uhh yeah, Karai most likely came first. And Lotus was only ninja for hire, she was never a real Foot Clan member.

Karai came first in the original comics. And Lotus was the old cartoon writers' spin-off of her.

ummmm do you have any proof of this...and I'm pretty sure the first lotus blossom episode was about before city at war came around.

I thought that I read it was the other way around, but I could be wrong. I think both of these did come out in 1989.

Ok I went and looked.:D
I believe the first time We ever see Karai is in Mirage TMNT Vol. 1 Issue #52 which was released in 1992.
The First Time We See Lotus Blossom is in the episode Beware the Lotus in 1989.
So at least by the dates given as we know the Lotus Came before the Karai.;)
I mean The could have come up with the Concept of Karai long before Lotus but it's never been officially stated. Someone could write Mirage and ask though.
