Rat King

An upcoming issue of Tales of TMNT is apparently going to feature the Rat King.


I have to ask - why was the Rat King present when Splinter died? He seemingly died of a heart-attack, but that villian suddenly being in his house at the same time has to have something to do with it. (Perhaps Splinter was having a vision of a danger his sons would face)


Anyway, I hope that upcoming issue explores into it.

People have asked him this in the letters section and he responded by saying he put Rat King there purposely so some mystery was involved. He did say however that Splinter died of natural causes so Rat King being there didn't have any affect on Splinter's health.
