Speaking as someone who's been exposed to the mostly thru the cartoons, I can't help thinking that they use an awful lot of technology. To what extent do they build/use technology in other media? I assume their arsenal was more limited in the comics and I can't think of anything much from the first three movies (TV's, payphones etc. don't really count).

Seems they have more technology in the cartoons since Donnie always had to create all the new vehicles that the toyline kept crankin out.

haha seeing as the show was ok with making fun of itself, that would have been a great thing for Donnie to bring up and complain about.

Don has created all kinds of gadgets and vehicles in the new show as well.
He does it in the comics too, but to a lesser extent.

It probably has something to do with the fact that vehicles look so much cooler in cartoons. A lot of the new series turtle tech is analogous to or updated from the old toon. For example the Turtle Van becomes the Battle Shell, the Turtle Communicators become Shell Cells. Probably the most outrageous turtle tech from the old toon was the Turtle Blimp which while more technologically feasible than The Sewer Slider is not exactly low key.
Can you guys think of anything else the turtles made or used?

Don has a little bit of MacGuyver/A-Team in him.
Vans, battle bumper cars, catapults, blimps, jets, subs, helicopters, motorcycles, and God knows what else.
