Recently I was listening to my ipod and came across a couple songs that rather reminded me of our dear TMNT boys. I figured I'd start a thread where we could post songs that remind us of tmnt whether it be scenes from the comic/toon, character related songs, etc. :)

Of course we can't post any direct downloads to songs but we can post lyrics and the song title/artist.

Until the Day I Die (http://www.elyrics.net/read/s/story-of-the-year-lyrics/until-the-day-i-die-lyrics.html) by Story of the Year
I thought this was a good Leo & Raph song, someone on this forum (forgive me I can't remember who) used the phrase "platonic passion" and I think this suits that well. :)

Just For (http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/Nickelback/Just-For.html), Nickelback
Seems like a good "Angry Vigilante" Raph song...

More song recommendations, anyone?

Everytime I listen to a song I try to imagine if it would fit with the TMNT. Either in a fan fic or the toons/comics/movies. So I have TONS of songs that seem to remind me of the TMNT. Here's some:

Raphael songs:
The Loner By Return
*sings* Im a loner...and I like it that way....

Thin Line By Return

Thin Red Line by Glass Tiger

Brothers by Kenny Loggins

Brother My Brother (from Pokemon)

Casey:
Tough Little Boys by Gary Allen
Altho this could also be a Raphael with offspring song
When tough little boys grow up to be dads...they turn into big babies again. :D

Dance With My Father by Luthor Vandross

Father and Daughter By Paul Simon (could also be any of the turtles and an offspring)

Songs about Splinter after he died:
The Living Years by Mike and the Mechanics

He Lives In You (From Lion King 2)

This is Your Song By Ronan Keating

It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday by Boys II Men

All the turtles:
Shadows of the Night by Pat Benetar

A Heart In NY by Art Garfunkle

"Points of Authority" by Linkin Park (conflicts between Leo and Raph)

Don't get me started...seriously. I'll be posting Ava's soundtrack when I feel confident enough to post a thread for her in the fan creations section ^_~

Your use of Linkin Park disturbs me...though I must admit, that's pretty fitting.

Anyone remember the Nightwatcher scenes from the new TMNT flick? I was listening to the 90s Batman theme and thought that it would be fitting for the scenes.

Raph:
Lightning Crashes-from the band Live
Burning Inside-Ministry
It's a Long Road-from the movie "First Blood"
Broken-Scott Stapp

Turtles-Always loved this one song called "Brothers in the Night" from a movie called Uncommon Valor. Both that title and song I thought fit perfectly with the guys.

Raph:
Lightning Crashes-from the band Live.

What does that have to do with Raph? that song is a big snore.

"Time to Waste" by Alkaline Trio is a great Leo/Raph song (mostly the new movie) some one has an AMV on youtube with it.

XD BWAHA! "She blinded me with science, and failed me in biology"
Oh man...the mental images will keep me going all day.

I'd kinda like to do a video for Master Splinter, and the boys to "Cats in the cradle"...the Ugly Kid Joe version being my favorite. Too bad I only have season four of 2k3 >.<

Just wanted to clarify why I chose "Lightning Crashes" by Live for Raph.

ToTheNines never thought of it as a big snore lol...always got me pumped up, but if you think so that's cool too :D

Anyway the reason I picked it for Raph cause when I hear that song, I always think of Raphael's inner struggle with his anger. How his anger can be a slow boil, and the song itself starts slow. But then the song starts picking up speed as it goes along, as I think Raph's anger does also until it is ready to explode. And then song at the end explodes into a much faster, more pumped up rock and roll ballad...and I think that's when Raph lets it all out, his built up aggresion unleashed.

Lyric from the song:

"I can feel it comin' back again
like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it."

I know it's a big stretch lol. But I hear that and think...Raph is feeling his emotions building, his anger coming back to him and rising inside him until it's ready to be released. And either Raph realizes how to use it effectively, or learn to stop it altogether. Like I said before, a big stretch but lol just wanted to clarify as to why i chose it hehe.

If it is I certainly never knew  . I guess with some, songs can be open for interpretation.

Some more additions:

Iris from Goo Goo Dolls

You're the Best from Karate Kid (I just think Mikey has this song in his head when he thinks "I'm the Battle Nexus Champion" lol)

Hearts on Fire from Rocky IV...good training montage for the boys just like "Eye of the Tiger" which was mentioned.

Woohoo my 100th post :D

"The Name of the Game" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Rygb2eToRE) by The Crystal Method sounds like it'd make a great battle song for the Turtles. Especially the refrain, "Callin' all freaks" sounds like it'd fit in a fight with a lot of Foot Ninja and/or monsters.

Another Crystal Method song that could fit for the Turtles (especially Mikey) is "Trip Like I Do" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m10C7guxihc).

Okay, here I go. With lyrics even.
I warned you people! Just a few though really, and I can't even claim that one isn't Ava influenced >.<

April & Casey: "Joey" Concrete Blonde.

Joey, baby - don't get crazy
Detours, fences - I get defensive
I know you've heard it all before, so I don't say it anymore
I just stand by and let you fight your secret war
And though I used to wonder why, I used to cry till I was dry
Still sometimes I get a strange pain inside
Oh, Joey, if you're hurting so am I
Joey, honey - I got some money
All is forgiven, listen, listen

But if I seem to be confused, I didn't mean to be with you
And when you said I scared you, well I guess you scared me too
But we got lucky once before and I don't want to close the door
And if you're somewhere out there passed out on the floor
Oh Joey, I'm not angry anymore

And if I seem to be confused I didn't mean to be with you
And when you said I scared you, well I guess you scared me too
But if it's love you're looking for then I can give a little more
And if you're somewhere drunk and passed out on the floor
Oh Joey, I'm not angry anymore
Angry anymore, angry anymore

Sunsh-Raphael: "Sonne" Rammstein. (I'm sure you saw that coming :) )
English Translation
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, out

Everyone is waiting for the light
be afraid, don't be afraid
the sun is shining out of my eyes
it will not set tonight
and the world counts loudly to ten

One
Here comes the sun
Two
Here comes the sun
Three
It is the brightest star of them all
Four
Here comes the sun

The sun is shining out of my hands
it can burn, it can blind you all
when it breaks out of the fists
it lays down hotly on the face
it will not set tonight
and the world counts loudly to ten

One
Here comes the sun
Two
Here comes the sun
Three
It is the brightest star of them all
Four
Here comes the sun
Five
Here comes the sun
Six
Here comes the sun
Seven
It is the brightest star of them all
Eight, nine
Here comes the sun

The sun is shining out of my hands
it can burn, it can blind you
when it breaks out of the fists
it lays down hotly on your face
it lays down painfully on your chest
balance is lost
it lets you go hard to the floor
and the world counts loudly to ten

One
Here comes the sun
Two
Here comes the sun
Three
It is the brightest star of them all
Four
And it will never fall from the sky
Five
Here comes the sun
Six
Here comes the sun
Seven
It is the brightest star of them all
Eight, nine
Here comes the sun

OT Baxter: "Powerstruggle" Sunna (PUN ALERT)

I will be here when you are gone,
So I have the right to a power gorge,
And I will be good at making bad,
And I'll light the way for the ***king mad,
I will defeat what I'm heading for,
And I will be here for evermore,
And I am the way of your empty shell,
I want more than I am,

Cause I was made to fly,
I was made to fly,
And you were made to die,
But I was made to fly.

I will survive cause I want more,
And I will create a bigger war,
Then I will rule over and give you hell,
And then you will do as I command,
Cause I will be here when you are gone,
Yeah I'll still be here when you are gone,
I'll fill you with fear of a holy sun,
I want all that I am,

Cause I was made to fly,
I was made to fly,
And you were made to die,
And I was made to fly.

I will defeat you.

Manipulate, interrogate, compete all you like,
And dominate with forceful hate,
Cause You know I will defeat you.

You were made to fight,
Yeh you were made to fight,
I was made to fly,
But you were meant to die.

Cause I was made to fly,
I was made to fly,
And you were made to fly,
And I was made to fly

Congratulations on your 100th post. Soon I will reach that milestone and the prophecy will be fulfilled, ensuring the destruction of everyone reading this thread.

I dont think "Lightning Crashes" can be realistically applied to Raph's anger, unless you only take the chorus. The song as a whole is about people living on through other people/the circle of life/lightning.

Leonardo & Karai "Enough" Gravity Kills

I love the thill
I love the scene.
Imagine you
in the white light
So beautiful
you watch me bleed
You're stabbing me from inside now
Kneel down and tell me about your world
Tell me something that I don't know
You know nothing about the world around you.
It's not enough broken in two
It's not enough speaking the truth
It's not enough watching me bleed
It's not enough torn in between
It's not enough
I'm watching you
distorted view
So beautiful in the white light
It's make believe
all that you see,
It's haunting you
from inside now
Kneel down and tell me about your world
Show me something inside your world
You know nothing about the world around you
It's not enough broken in two
It's not enough speaking the truth
It's not enough watching me bleed
It's not enough torn in between
It's not enough
Sometimes in me,
you are the seed
A dying need in the white light
The simple truth
it speaks to me
It's screaming out
from inside now
Kneel down and tell me about your world
Tell me something that I don't know
You know nothing about the world around you
It's not enough broken in two
It's not enough speaking the truth
It's not enough watching me bleed
It's not enough torn in between
It's not enough broken in two
It's not enough speaking the truth
It's not enough watching me bleed
It's not enough torn in between
It's not enough

Mike
Nothing's Wrong With Me - also from the Pixel Perfect soundtrack (I really need to post lyrics at some point but I don't have a lyric sheet, I'll have to listen to the song again and write them down)

My Father's Son - Stan Bush

Great song for either Raph or new movie Leo, kinda odd how it works for both, but it does

Second verse gets a little too specific to work, but chop it out those few lines and you have a great song for a music video

Verse 1
When I left home I thought this bridge was burning
Crossed the line and there was no returning
Thought I was free
But now I know that it takes more than wheels
Back across the county line past the same old welcome sign
Seems like nothin's ever changed

Chorus
No matter where I go, no matter where I've been
No matter what the cost, no matter what the sin
Demons that I've fought, the battles that I've won
Loves that I have lost, distances I've run
I'm still my father's son

Verse 2 - chop

Repeat chorus

Bridge
It doesn't seem that long ago
This town was my whole world
You know I though that I could leave it all behind
But the truth will find us, and the ties that bind us
No matter where we try to hide

2nd half of verse 2 repeats
Didn't know I had it made
There's always something that you trade
And some things we'll never change, never change

Repeat chorus

So which of the two do you think it works better for?

Edit: Too bad the song "Casey Jones" by the Greatful Dead doesn't fit him at all.

There's a song in a movie i saw recently that I absolutely loved, and it made me think of the TMNT. There struggles with life, the Foot clan, etc. and I think this song would fit okay with the turtle family.

Brothers in the Night by Ray Kennedy

We're all startin' to feel
The pain we endure
Makes us wonder what in the hell
We're all fightin' for
A decade of nightmares
Long years of tears
Who can take the injustice?
Who can get past the fears?
And true hearts of courage
Even in a world turned wrong
Those precious hearts are gone
But they're never forgotten.

I believe that all good deeds of men will never fall
They live on forever
Forever standin' tall
I believe that all good deeds of men will never fall
We're all brothers in the night
Reaching out for something right.

There are dark, evil forces
That hide behind masks
And to right all the wrongs
Is an impossible task
Yet at a certain time
And in a certain place
Man can redeem
Mankind's disgrace
The courage of our past
Will lead to peace at last
Even at war so rotten
So many hearts are gone, but not forgotten.

I believe that all good deeds of men will never fall
They live on forever
Forever standin' tall
I believe that all good deeds of men will never fall
We're all brothers in the night
Reaching out for something right
We're all brothers in the night
It's our time, please, let's unite.

I just thought not only was it a great beautiful song, but it good fit with the turtles in a nice way. But that's just my opinion lol :P

I swear it must be Leatherhead week. Anyway, "Until it sleeps" kinda struck me as a Leatherhead song.

Where do I take this pain of mine?
I run, but it stays right by my side

So tear me open, pour me out
There's things inside that scream and shout
And the pain still hates me
So hold me until it sleeps

Just like the curse, just like the stray
You feed it once and now it stays
Now it stays

So tear me open but beware
There's things inside without a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me until I'm clean

It grips you, so hold me
It stains you, so hold me
It hates you, so hold me
It holds you, so hold me
Until it sleeps

So tell me why you've chosen me
Don't want your grip,
don't want your greed
Don't want it

I'll tear me open, make you gone
No more can you hurt anyone
And the fear still shakes me
So hold me until it sleeps

It grips you, so hold me
It stains you, so hold me
It hates you, so hold me
It holds you, holds you,
holds you until it sleeps

I don't want it

So tear me open but beware
There's things inside without a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me till I'm clean

I'll tear me open,
make you gone
No longer will you hurt anyone
And the hate still shapes me
So hold me until it sleeps
Until it sleeps

I remember a threat a while ago about "songs you thought fit the TMNT". I just found this song I've been looking for forever:

It's called "Brothers in the Night" by Ray Kennedy from Uncommon Valor:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/wmfnzd

The song isn't in the best quality...but lol i've been looking for this song forever cause I thought it fit the team well. The TMNT are truly "Brothers in the Night" and there constant fight/war with their villains and themselves...but i'm sure that 's just me lol. Sorry if this is not a good topic to post up...If others have songs they feel fit the TMNT maybe they can post links here as well. Or not it's all good....I was just ecstatic of finally finding this song I had to tell someone lol.

That's a good one it does fit well.

I always thought the song "Blood Brothers" By Iron Maiden fit turtles well.

And I think the song "Leader Of The Rats" by Arch Enemy fits Rat King really well.
