Let me know,I'd like more info on it{how long it lasted, ticket sales,etc.}.
Also, does anyone have the COOOS video or album? Let me know, thanks!

Yes, I know what you're talking about. I've got the COOTS ablum, but I never attended the actual concert. I wish I did when it came through my town... As a kid, I would've probably gotten a kick out of it.

Yeah,it was great. Human Foot Soldiers were shown sneaking around the parking lot on video screens,Splinter gave us morals to think about, and Shredder put "records" in a special machine, then "turning them" into confetti that came out in the crowd! Very similar to the first movie in design,it was great to see! How long did it last? Does anyone know? :-?

I was on a Vacation if I remember correctly in the States, so I was lucky enough to go see it! (the "Coming Out of Their Shells" tour didn't come to Canada, if I remember correctly).

But I don't recall the actual length of it though, sorry.

Ah yes, the COOTS tour. I remember that. It was definatey awesome! I've got the video, but not the album. I remember having the program, a blue bandana like Leonardo's, and a COOTS cap that i used to wear all the time, but they've been lost over the years. As for technical aspects like ticket sales and such, I'm afraid I can't help you.

 I have seen the video, it is beyond dorky. I laughed at it the entire time. The Turtles did a lot of milling around on the stage, and Mike must have said "Thank You, We Love You!" 20 times. Splinter's head was about 5 times it's normal size, and his Japanese voice changed into an epic Neil Diamond type voice while he sang. Shredder looked like a Ronin Warrior, and Baxter Stockman was on the brink of turning into Richard Simmons.

 All true statements. I forgot Baxter was there! :( Yeah,he definitely was way too "Richard Simmons-like"!

Yeah I saw it at Six Flags in Dallas in July 1991...it was cool. I think it was the Coming Out of our Shells Tour, they sang one song with a line like 'we're comin' out of our shells...' so it must have been it. It was a neat little program, I don't remember much of it now. The ending song was catchy, something about 'we'll always be there for you'

Heh...yeah right :D

Six Flags is in Arlington, not Dallas. I just remembered that Shredder spent about 20 minutes insulting 5 year olds who were sitting in the front row.

I never saw the show. I was kinda an "in my world" fan back then, and didn't go out and do things like that. But I was luckly enough to have a friend burn me the album awhile ago, and I love listening to it. (Just wish she'd included "Follow Your Heart" with it.)

I see...all I remember was that it wasn't TERRIBLY far from the Fort Worth/Dallas area. I don't remember how far we drove to get there, I was only 8. I did see the show. :D

I remember he told some kid's mom "How would like a one way ticket to my Technodrome!" And what was the deal with the clothes the Turtles had on, were they supposed to be homosexual?

And what was the deal with the clothes the Turtles had on, were they supposed to be homosexual?
Oh, let's please not go there again. They were supposed to look like over the top rock stars. I know several homosexuals and NONE of them would ever dress like that unless it was Halloween, and some not even then.

That crap should be illegalized in the US. God awful, a spit in the face to all TMNT fans alike. Have you ever looked up to someone and thought they were the coolest person in the world? Yeah, well take that person, put him in a frilly gown, spray paint him with yellow, green, and pink, take a big bag of hot nickels and smack the person with it acouple of times with it, and then make him sing singalongs about brushinng your teeth, and then you'll have close to an idea of what that show is like for me.

I have a video with both the show and the making of on it. I admit, its awful, but I loved it as a kid and now its like nastolgia, ya know? O, and yes I must say, those dance moves on the pizza man? Da,m sexually explicit, i cant believe they let us watch that. And how do you make pants that tight that still stretch? And did anyone notice that during the song that was after that, one or so after it, suddenly there were some how guys dressed in army pants, hats and black tank tops? I dont exactly know how or why this happened! I actually am quite horrified by the thought that such men as these could appear out of thin air! Save me!

Speaking of the "Coming Out of Our Shells Tour", a couple days ago at school it was on the Daily Broadcast. At my school theres a class were you make the broadcast w/ school news and they always have special segments, and they put clips of it on 2 days in a row. It was very corny but a lot of people remember it and knew about the show coming out.

No...in fact, the coots tour was a project of the goverment to wash the kids heads, turning them into future mindless homophobic little critters!
Don't believe me?Listen to the "walk straight" song...need more proof? :P
THEN LISTEN TO IT BACKWARDS!
Why?I don't know!
I liked their clothes tho, so i don't get it, what's the big deal :sweatdro:
Oh ya...i love the coots tour :P it's soooooo bad...even tho i didnt see the show live, i got the video and the soundtrack, and while i can't stomach the soundtrack (except for pizza power) i totally love the video! It's sooo stupid :D Shredder's helmet, the overacting baxter, that annoying reporter.... :goofygri:

I wonder if Shredder was aware that he was making his own music whilest singing of his hatred for said music? Oh, and that news reporter guy, what was his name? Kent, Ken? Kern? Popcorn? Anyway, he was hilarious. All I have to say about him is that there were SNAKES in the basement!

His name was Kip, and he told the Turtles they were a bunch of weenies because they wouldn't go and attack shredder.

They mentioned him like 7 times! Shredder also said something about New Kids on The Block, and then he proceeded to start singing and dancing about how much he hated music.

I saw the COOTS tour on VHS, not in person. It has its pros and cons. It was interesting, though the costumes (especially those from Shredder and Master Splinter) were not good at all. I used to play the COOTS cassette a lot. Some of the songs were kinda cool. :trazz:

Now to make this thread more interesting, I ask you, who has seen the Making of: The Coming Out Of Their Shells Tour? Its so bad yet so funny! It's a mockumentary of course, but done so weird. And PIzza Hut promotion continues in this video by having about a cajillion boxes of pizza hut pizza on the set, having the President or whatever of Pizza Hut shown at a press release in which hes on stage more than the turtles, not to mention unnecesarry shots of stage hands touching the turtles nether regions while helping them into the below stage area for just before the go up above.

That Matt Guy
03-11-2003, 07:45 PM

I came across the VHS in a Blockbuster once and I just grabbed it without reading it. I just saw that it was a live show. I thought it was going to be a stunt show. I did watch it from begining to end and I have decided that I would have no trouble kicking Shredders ass. Was he wearing eyeshadow or is that just a distorted memory?

I remember seeing this when I was about 6, and I also remember that I absolutely loved it. At the show, which was somewhere in Southern Cali, I remember my Mom bought a Rapahael waepons set and a Leonardo weapons set for me. I also remember having the "COOOS" VHS, but that is long gone now.

My friend and I used to watch the "Mockumentary" Making of video as kids and we used to mak fun of the bug-eyed Long-tougned splinter. We'd draw pictures of him with exagerrated eyes and tounge catching flies!
I recently found that tape AND that friend. Still funny after all these years.
I also had the album I kind of like the songs actually.
