are they going to be releasing another season? I mean I don't know how well sales on the season four box set where, but I think Lion's Gate makes a decission on whether or not to release more seasons based on how well the sales of the previous releases where before making an anoucement on any further releases.

And from what I remember, the episodes that were played in syndication (on stations other than CBS) were pretty much limited to the first four seasons. I don't know if that would have anything to do with it though. I emailed Fred Wolf Films earlier this week to ask if there was any information on future releases. I have yet to hear back from them. Are they even the company in charge of the releases or should I have emailed Lion's Gate? The wait is killing me! I'm afraid they won't be going ahead with anymore. :(

Man I would be really dissapointed if they didn't release the entire series on DVD. They really only have to release 4 more sets. Season 5,6,7, and then they could probably put seasons 8,9, and 10 to one set since those seasons only had 8 episodes per season. Hopefully with the movie coming out in July that will promt them to release it with the movie. That takes care of Season 5 at least. I know the seasons go down in quality so at least we have most of all the good episodes but still it feels incomplete without the others. Also because I only saw these episodes when I was a kid, I love watching them over and want to find out how the story progresses and ends.

I think you are thinking in terms of volumes as opposed to "seasons." There are like 6 volumes out (I think) all with terrible cover art. But there are only 12-13 eps per volume. There are far more than 12 eps per season.

this is the last one released so far and it is not $10

OH!!! Thank you Neutrino!!! Yeah, I do have 6 Volumes, it doesn't say the seasons on them, I just naturally assumed I guess...Yeah now I feel stupid, sorry guys! But yeah, Volume 6 is purple with Michelangelo and Splinter on the cover.

And, the Volumes were all like $10, I don't if Seasons are being sold, or how much they cost, but the Volumes I bought were all like $10, except Volume 1, which I got at Best Buy for $5, which is quite a deal for the 5 episodes and 4 of the Red Sky ones. (Haha, I now know what people are talking about when they say 'Red Sky' haha). Sorry again guys.

I think the reason they were released in volumes is to test the market and see the sales. They would lose money if they put out a season set that cost 30-40 dollars and got very little money back. So I think when Season 4 was released they probably got good sales from the volumes and it was also around the time of the movie. Just hope the sales for the season box set was good so we don't have to go back to those volume sets again

Thank you gobo, that clears up a lot for me. Was TMNT always on CBS? I know the episodes with the Red Sky in the opening theme had something about CBS, so were the earlier ones on CBS too? Forgive my ignorance, I'm 17, and before getting these DVDs, all I had were VHS's of individual episodes that Burger King used to give out with kiddie meals.

All 80 syndicated ep I had seen on NBC. Others saw them on Fox. The 13 Euro-Cruise eps were meant to be part of the syndicated package, but they technically weren't 'syndicated' in that they were exclusive to USA Network (a cable station).

Is the syndicated opening (not cbs, the first video posted above) the same as the original? It seems so to me...but maybe I am wrong or missing something.

Also, when did they change the outro credits to the elevator shaft from the cave? Is that the only time it changed, or did it change the outro in other seasons? More videos would be appreciated!

BlankSlate has it right. When CBS aired their first season (part of the series' Season 4), they were using that new credits background. When "PLAN SIX FROM OUTER SPACE" premiered after that, I was surprised that they were using the same background image in their credits. I figured it would be a CBS exclusive.

That thread contains all of the information about the European Vacation arc.

Chronoligically, the EV episodes follow Season 4, but did not air in America until Season 7 (1993), on the USA Network (instead of syndicated CBS).

The Season 5 DVD set will contain the next season of syndicated TMNT cartoons that were aired on CBS in 1991.

Correction, the "official" episode guide is wrong. They aired on the USA network in 1992. I have copies of all 13 and all of them say "Copyright 1992" in the ending credits. The Euro Vacation episodes take place right after Plan Six from Outer Space.

So many of you guys seem to have seen these episodes recently or at least be able to recall them from when they were on in the 90s.

I don't. I remember bits of episodes but never the whole thing and certainly none of the lines. All I remember is really loving them - especially Donatello because he was purple.

To all those saying we got Volume 5 in September; Volume 6 in December and Volume 7 (season 4) in March so we should get the next set in June are most likely wrong.

Since they're doing season sets now I highly doubt they'd release 4 sets a year. It'll most likely be moved to a 6 or 8 month waiting period as long as we keep getting seasons.

I'd say we'd get Season 5 in September.

I kinda think they'd release Season 5 on July 10th to coincide with the release of the new movie on DVD. Wouldn't they want to bank off sales of the new movie DVD with the old toon? That's the whole reason Season 4 came out right before the movie hit theaters.

I'm thinking Season 5 will come out sometime in July to coincide with the new movie, and we'll get Season 6 sometime in the Fall. Probably late November or early Decemner.

Then for 2008 we'll get Season 7 (probably including the European eps), and Seasons 8-10 will probably be put together on the same boxset and released in the fall.

We'll probably be waiting until late 2008 to have the entire original cartoon on DVD.

I wish shows that are already over and are just beginning to come out with DVDs would do it the Seinfeld way. Twice, Seinfeld released a box set with two season sets. I beleive they started releasing season sets in 2004 and by Christmas 2007 it would have released the entire 9 season series. But then again Seinfeld is a popular show with great DVD sales, so I guess not everyone can do it

Anyone think that we could get Season 5 and 6 both in the same set?

Considering Season 5 is only 22 episodes long and Season 6 is even less at 16 episodes that'd give us another 38 epsiode volume (basically as much as the 40 episode set we just got).

Then they could put Season 7 in one volume (27 episodes), and give us Season 8, 9 and 10 (24 episodes combined / 8 each) in the last volume.

That'd leave 3 more volumes, put one turtle on each volume like you did with Ralph on Season 4 and we'd have a nice set.

Again, the European Vacation episodes are NOT part of season 7. Though since they're following the "official" guide which is wrong is so many places I suppose it's likely that they'll do it that way. I've considered the possibility that they'll release 5 & 6 in a set but I really don't see it happening. They can make more money releasing them seperately and also for those who don't like a particular season they aren't forced to buy both and can choose. With the European Vacation episodes, I really think they should be a seperate release since they follow season 4 rather than after 6.
