View Full Version : New >> ep "Turtle X-Tinction" official discussion
There are both a preview and a 3:15 sneak peek available for this ep at 4Kids.tv right now. It looks even more interesting than last week's... which I have yet to watch. :embarass:

This seems to be the last filler of the season, unelss something important happens in this ep. Any signs as to what's controlling Turtle-X? Jammerhead or Viral maybe?

How is it a filler when it's continued from last weeks episode?
Every episode is in some form or another conected to a greater story here.
Oh And it's being controlled by Darius Dunn it says so over at ninjaturtles.com

That clip was interesting. It's still weird to me to hear that nuanced voicework coming from the less detailed faces of the characters.

It's Serling time? Oh, brother...*facepalm*
Other than that glaring fault, I really really liked this episode! Glad to see Darius really becoming a great main villain. Great dialogue from just about everyone today. Great action, got a little cheesy at the end, but whatever....
I think I need another word other than 'great' :P
But yeah, very good episode, I think.

I like Turtle X V2 nice transformation too. It makes Serling more then just a joke character now.
Anyway this episode was good. Not a great as Milk Run or the time travel episode but far better then Enter the Jammer Head and Fall of Darius Dunn. Seems we get one good episode then one bad episode.
There were some good fights. It's nice to see Splinter actually active in the second half of this season even if his fights don't last long. Dunn's revenge was nice and thought out and used continuty. Trapping Cody in the Turtle X so the Turtles would not want to destroy it, while overloading the system, causing massage destruction to the city and kill Cody and maybe the Turtles too.
3.4/5
There was no preview for Next weeks episode which makes me wounder if there is a new one or not.

i liked when sterling said, it's sterling time
and I like how he is know turtle x version 2, even though i still don't like all the robot fight
this episode reminded me of scion of the shredder since cody has all his personal items destroyed in front of him like the turtles/splinter did with master yoshi's orb, don's inventions, their vehicles, their lair
and then it makes me wish this was still tmnt 2k3 where there is more emotion involved and much deeper characters:-?

I find it weird that despite all their personal stuff apparently being destroyed in "scion of the shredder", there was still a box of their old stuff in "The Journal" such as the first shell cell and Leo's wooden practice sword

But on topic: Good episode! Is it sad I got a little teary eyed when Serling sacrificed himself for Cody?

Alright!! This week Serling is put towards the front! It may have been Cody's 15th birthday (remember his bio initially said he was 14) but this was a Serling ep. We learned that Serling has been raising Cody since he was a baby (when
did his parents die???). Course we also learned just how far Darius will go to get what he wants. Damn he's evil. I love the upgrade Serling got in the end. So now he's a Transformer. *lmao* There were lots of quotes this week. I loved "It's Serling time!" and for once "It's Ninja Time!" was actually needed. :D

The irony of this episode was that yesterday was My birthday.
Anyway, I have to say, these last 2 episodes were shcokingly enjoyable... even Biggles was enjoyable. Cody's reaction to Sterling's "death" was pretty much what I've been waiting for all series long. Though I would have had him become angrier and more Casey like, like I said a while back. All and all, it's great they're at least following a story arch and not the same "Look how things changed" or "look how immature Mikey is" (and speaking as a huge mikey fan, I really hate those eps, except for Turtle Titan).
Really liked the Scooby refference.

Definately amongst the best of the season. "It's Serling time" was different and well done, and Raph's "Ninja time" didn't seem forced. The fights were great, and this was probably the darkest episode of Fast Forward. Although I assumed Serling would have been rebuilt before the end of the episode (although I didn't see him becoming Serling-X coming), his sacrifice was truly painful to watch. Robot or not, he really got f***ed up by the Turtle-X.
And I think they're building up to something with Cody's parents.
I find it weird that despite all their personal stuff apparently being destroyed in "scion of the shredder", there was still a box of their old stuff in "The Journal" such as the first shell cell and Leo's wooden practice sword
The answer is quite obvious. Casey stole that stuff from them before the lair was wrecked.

I thought today's episode was pretty good.
I liked the action and I felt the humor help up pretty well. The fight scenes helped made this episode enjoyable, I thought. Anyways, moving on...
Before the episode started, I made assumpations of who would be in control on the Turtle-X. I thought it would've been either Viral, Sh'Okanabo, or Darius Dunn. Turns out I was basically right -- Dunn was my third choice, so that was kinda cool that I was right...:) Seeing as Dunn didn't die or anything like that last week's episode, it made sense for him to return in this one.
I like the fact that Serling actually had a strong role in this episode; it made him good for something. I don't recall him being so protective towards Cody before, but I guess he had to do it on account of it being Cody's birthday. I didn't him expect to become the revamped -- for lack of a better word -- version of Turtle-X, but I thought that was a good way to end the episode...:D
Overall, I really enjoyed today's episode and felt it was above average, so it gets four "Serling to the rescue" moments out of five. I'm kinda bummed that a rerun will be aired next week...:ohwell:

It maybe just a thought.
Maybe after the turtles were settled down in the old power plant they went back to the sewer. Maybe what was in the box was what they could savage of what was left. I mean I haven't really seen scion of the Shredder, but it could be a explanation why they still had things from their former home.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I was pondering that it would be unlikely every single item in the lair was destroyed.

They could be just replicas you know. I mean, do you seriously think they bought the Shredder Armor from Karai or her super robots? Remember Cody had their masks in the first ep?
Anyway, I'm really surprised how many people like Serling Time. I figured it would cause some huge uproar here. I laugh really loud when I heard him say that and strike the silly pose.
Yup, lots of action here. Not much in terms of plot, but there was some character development, and Darius being in control seemed a little predictable. I was surprised how quickly they continued the Darius Dunn story. I figured they might move onto something else, then have Darius strike back a little later. Anyone disappointed that when Raph broke into Darius's hideout, the Dark Turtles weren't there to fight Raph?
and Raph's "Ninja time" didn't seem forced.
Yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way. I thought I was getting used to it, so I went back to my video tapes and listened to the other times they say it, but it was still just as bad. The way Raph delivered it in this episode actually made it kind of cool. Still, I wouldn't mind if they ditched it all together.

I think that's because there are only 6 episodes left in the season.
If you look back at FF as a whole, they had a lot to cram into only 26 episodes. We've had two major arcs going on at the same time, Shoko'nobo's "Day of Awakening" and Darius Dun's story, and the writers have basically alternated between the two (including the Dark Turtles, Viral Torbin Zixx, Zukko and the Triceraton gangs), while also including some fillers with Jammerhead and so forth.
With only 6 eps left in the season its obvious they're trying to kick it into high gear to finish everything up. FF was originally planned to be only 26 episodes before they knew they were getting another season, so I imagine almost everything they've done so far will be wrapped up at the conclusion of this season with the exception of the Turtles going back in time.

i really enjoyed this episode...it was the most suspensful episode of ff yet...
i loved the fight scenes...and yeas the humor helped a bit...but i thnik darius dunn needs to get a life..lol...i uderstand hes the legal gaurdian but that doesnt mean he can rampage everything...an use oneil tech for his own...but i think serling would be a better leagal gaurdian than darius...i know he is related but...if he would pass away serling is more than highly qualified...he cares bout cody..darius doesnt...i loved the whole emotional element of the episode...i thnik serling being turtle x is great because he always naggs bout cody fighting and leaving his home...so now serling can be with him where ever he goes..i just dont want to start calling serling turtle x...its just weird...welll im kinda rambling now so thats what i thought about this episode...there is more but ive already written enough

OK, finally saw this.
First of all, why is it so impossible for this series (2K3 or FF) to show Mike as competent in the kitchen?!!! I really don't think it's asking much. UGH.
Otherwise it was a decent episode. Glad to see the plot actually moving somewhere.

I missed this episode yesterday since my cat didn't wake me up. She can't get into my room now that we fixed the door. She usually wakes me up at nine. Better than 6 or 7 on Saturday mornings.
Though she looked at me weird last night when I yelled Cowabunga while watching one of the original series season 4 dvds:lol: brings back old memories for me.
Anyway I watched it just now and I really liked the episode, especially when Serling sacrificed himself to save Cody. I also like him as the new Turtle X, as they were about to teach the turtles a lesson.
I was never into the 2K3 series as I grew up with the classic series. But around last season I started watching it, and I'm deflinitely into Fast Forward.

Watch the episode where Leo was beaten during his rooftop training. It's the first episode where we see the Elite Foot Ninjas. Raph complimented Mikey's scramble eggs. Coming from Raph, that says a LOT.

Wow. That was... really enjoyable. Best Fast Forward episode thus far, and a good TMNT episode in its own right. Well-written, well-paced... Funny (I laughed my spleen out at Michelangelo's scooby doo impersonation) and even slightly weighty, like when Serling "sacrificed" himself. There was a lot of peril in this episode -- tension, and I felt myself actually somewhat... slightly on the edge of my seat.
Yes there certainly is hope for this series. Now if the episodes can continue improving in this fashion, all that really needs to change at this point is the acid trip Winx Club coloring job.

Yeah.. but I'm pretty sure there was also an episode where comments were made to the general effect of it was a good idea to keep Mike as far from the kitchen as possible.. maybe the Christmas episode?

I really enjoyed this episode, there's been a couple of nice FF episodes lately, but this is the first one I completely liked. I caught myself wearing a grin through the whole thing, which is a good sign ^_^
Also, maybe it was my imagination, or just something I want to see, but it seemed like they put some more effort in the facial expressions in this episode. Definitely with Cody, his face went all over the place, and Darius seemed to have some more expressions as well, but I caught the same thing with both Leo and Raph. I'd have to look at the other episodes to see if I imagined this, but it really caught my attention this time anyway. Not quite the same as improved animation quality, but still, it was something, and that made me happy and this episode even more enjoyable ^_^

I've been thinking about when exactly Cody's birthday is. We know that he's now 15 as his bio initially stated he was 14. But his birthdate is now in question. I think it's in August. Further proof is from "Timing is Everything" where the package Donatello sends from the past states that it's July 10th.
Constable Biggle's even goes "O'Neil Tech again?! Blimey it's like they're blowing up this place once a week!"... So... mid August?
Chris
05-01-2007, 12:44 AM
No offense but I personally wouldn't trust the dates in "Timing is Everything", it puts the 2003 flashback in 1993 and then the Don letter flashback implies that 100 years ago was when they were first mutated (so either they came to the future straight after "birth", which we know isn't the case, or they've only come approx 85 years into the future which is contrary to everything said in the series so far).
As far as I remember Cody's "upcoming" birthday was mentioned by Darius as far back as "Bad Blood" and his age hasn't been mentioned since. I'll admit I haven't seen the new episode yet so I'm curious as to what makes you place it that recently.
But the ages in the series are messed up anyway. According to the FAQ on the official site they're 16 when the events in 2k3 left them at 18-19. I emailed Dan about this and he said despite the contrary evidence in the 2k3 series they were 16 in FF as the TMNT must always be teenagers on TV. Guess it's kinda like how DC's modern history (before the recent crisis anyway) was always 10 years no matter how much time passed or how many Christmas and New Year holidays were shown in the comics. It could also explain why the TMNT are acting less mature and more like teenagers again (well that and the fact that they're free to walk around in the city for the first time, bound to allow them to relax and enjoy themselves a bit).

Serling to the rescue!
Good to see Cody learning some martial arts. Sweet new turtle-X.
FF is improving on a weekly basis to the point where I forget that 2k3 had better animation. I just get into the eps and watch for substance rather than the obvious differences.

I actually felt sorry for Sterling when he risked his life to save Cody. But I knew he'd be ok afterwards.
Things became interesting when Sterling becomes the new Turtle X. Looks the Robot butler will be involved more in the rest of the FF, now that he's built more for combat.
