Ok, so this is in General TMNT because this artist did a song on each TMNT soundtrack (well the 90's ones anyway) so I ask you, would you date Ya Kid K?

Is he the guy who did that horrible/great Ninja Turtle Jam on for the third movie?
If so... maybe.
Err...will you guys beat me up if I say "no"? *grins sheepishly* He seems like an okay sort of a guy, but I don't really know much about him other than he did songs for the first three TMNT movies. Meh *shrugs*

Haha, I'm hoping I didn't kill Jester's joke. After rereading his post I'm afraid I did.

hahaha damn I always thought it was a guy to! hahaha:lol:
I think you did, Michi. Ah well...at least he got at least one person with this thread
Until she got mildly popular with Technotronic in the mid-'90s (Shake That Body For Me), I always thought she was a guy too.
What I'd like to know is if any guy would ever be able to push past that in order to date her. I wouldn't at all be surprised if she wasn't into guys, but I don't know. 'Shake That Body For Me' just sounds like it was directed at a woman/lover and the video suggested the same thing.

Actually, that was Loose Bruce (a track that wasn't even in the movie).
Here's Ya Kid K's TMNT OST contributions:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
Hi Tek 3 feat. Ya Kid K - Spin That Wheel
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Secret of the Ooze (1991)
Ya Kid K - Awesome (You Are MY Hero)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993)
Technotronic - Rockin' Over the Beat

Thanks GK and Gobo. Yeah, it was an attempt to see people go..."is that a guy?" "No, it's gotta be a chick, doesn't it?"

She was originally supposed to be the rapper at the end of TMNT2... and the girl that Shredder takes by the throat while on stage.
O_o Really? That would have been cooler since she actually RELEASED A SINGLE. No matter who you're discussing Vanilla Ice with, "Go Ninja Go Ninja Go" will come to their mind a bit quicker than "Ice, Ice Baby". So, honestly, Ice was a moron for not releasing alternate mixes and whatnot of it. And, Ninja Rap II was a huge joke(that wasn't at all funny). At least Ya was a fan...

Ya Kid K was a TMNT fan?
Being on all three soundtracks (one being a song about the Turtles even), it's safe to say that she was.

All of those songs were good though. So I would date her pants off.

Yeah I didnt realize that untill it was too late... I wouldn't have said anything if I realized it was a joke earlier

Did y'all know Manuela Kamosi aka Ya Kid K lives in Belgium?
In fact, her younger sister Karoline is a big R&B star in Belgium, performing under the name Leki.
Ya Kid K also wrote and sung the Technotronic hit song 'Pump up the Jam' but in the music video and on TV appearances, some pretty model performed the song, playbacking K's voice.
Anyway... to answer the date question...
Although it would be convenient (we do live in the same country), I'm gonna have to say no 'cos otherwise my girlfriend's gonna ram a Turtle action figure up my nose ;)

Um.... How is it that you folks probably heard the soundtrack, heard her song, and still thought she was a guy? Lol!
All I can say is, Ya Kid K is the one. I totally had a crush on her when I was a tot listening to my TMNT soundtrack back in '90...... Hah!
It is kind of amazing how much the dreads in that picture make her look like that guy from the red sky eps, though. Pretty funny!
Good point. In 'Spin That Wheel', she says, "I'm your hostess". I just always thought I was hearing her wrong. She looked like a teenage boy to me. :sweatdro:
