the reason i ask is when the creators of the tmnt ask marvel if they could join them,marvel said no cause i think the turtles where to good for them.but later after that when tmnt got popular marvel tried to buy them out..somthing like she said ^ then they tried to make a deal with them the tmnt creators on the archie comics,then marvel bought out dreamwave i believe thats one of the comic book companys publish some of the tmnt.it just the patterns that kinda bug me when with some of that info i found out.sorry if my english is kinda bad on here.

Marvel doesn't hate the TMNT. They've been mentioned in several of the X-men comics and even the original X-Men animated series of the 90's as Jubilee is a fan. Archie comics is a branch of the marvel u actually.

Shortly after the TMNT and Archies teamed up the Archies teamed up with Punisher. Archie Meets Punisher is one of my fave Archie comics next to Ariche meets the TMNT. :D

Would pretty much suck if Marvel bought the rights to the TMNT, for the same reason Eastman & Laird chose to not accept Marvel's offer and instead chose to publish TMNT independently.

Because TMNT as a comic has never sold exceptionally well. Even at times, outright loses money. As soon as TMNT dips into low numbers, a conglomerate like Marvel wouldn't hesitate to just cancel TMNT at a moment's notice, never to be heard or seen again.

I have no real knowledge of the comics world, mainstream or independent, so I can't pretend to know if you're right or not. I will assume for now, though, that you are correct.

However, even if the comics were bought by Marvel or DC, sold poorly, and were discontinued, I don't think that would necessarily be the end of the TMNT in any medium. I think a relatively small proportion of TMNT fans know that there is a comic, and from there even less people have actually read many of them. Yet these people who have no or limited knowledge of the comics are still fans thanks to the other mediums TMNT ventured into when it was still young.

Don't take my word for it. There's an ooold Eastman interview where he talks about their original offer from Marvel and says precisely why they never seriously considered it.

Though you never know. If Marvel took the TMNT comic, relaunched it, put guys like Joe Quesada, Palmiotti, Kubert on it with just mind-blowing gritty real art, who's to say it wouldn't take off?

Hmmm if Marvel were interested again what they could do is maybe pay for rights for making maybe several comics of TMNT to see how they would sell with them distributing the comics. Of course making the comics dark. Maybe also have them have cameos in a couple of there most popular characters comics to spread word.

Pretty much Marvel would buy a trial service for distributing comics and if things worked out in the way Marvel wants they could get the full rights to TMNT.

It would be interesting to see how much more further that Marvel could get the franchise. But I dont think Peter Laird should sell the comics outright. Maybe, have a contract that would give Marvel distributing and creative rights for about 10 years, but then the rights would be relinguished back to Peter Laird, to either stop the franchise, or re-negotiate.

It's just a suggestion. It would be nice to have Marvel's wide world distribution and "funding". Be nice to have a cgi/live action Turtles once more.

None that you probably wouldn't be aware of. Archie, Image/Highbrow, and DreamWave all did licensed comics. Titan in the UK is doing Fast Forward stuff now, too.

Though I'm pretty sure after TMNT took off with the success of the 80s cartoon and then the first movie in 1990, Marvel may have come back to the table with Eastman and Laird saying, "Wait, wait, wait... we got off on the wrong foot last time, let's think this over. We still want to make you an offer!" and they just told them to bugger off. But maybe not.
