ive messed with it for a bit, and everytime i close the browser and come back to the page, i have to log in again, even if i check the box that says "autmoaticlaly log me in".

anyone else had this problem? its been buggin' me for a while, so i figured id go ahead and post about it. im using the latest version of IE. maybe its not using cookies, or not using cookies properly?

Weird, I haven't had any problems. It might be cookie related issue, check that you have the enabled in your IE setup.

nope, no problems there. all the other messageboards i use work just fine. most of them are php boards too. i even tried lowering my cookie security, and it still was a no-go.

I'm not sure if this will work, but it's worth a try:
On the "Privacy" tab under Tools > Internet Options on IE6, click "Advanced...", check "Override automatic cookie handling," and check "Always allow session cookies." Let me know if that works.

yep, the session cookies *seems* to have fixed it. i almost tried that earlier when i was messing with the security levels hehe. kinda wierd that all the other boards and cookie sites work fine tho, eh?

oh well, thanks!

Hey Machias, I've got IE 5.5 too. Maybe there's something wrong with earlier versions of IE? That's kinda weird... I've been using the same browser ever since I joined the forums last year.

I found an error in one of the template files and fixed it. Did that fix the auto login problem for anyone?

It's still happening to me... However, I've noticed that it seems to happen if I login at the bottom of the forums. If I click on the login link, then it lets me login with no problems. :???:

either way it doesnt work for me. typicall i use the "log in" page itself, not the thing at the bottom

xZAOx, did you have this problem before the board was upgraded to 2.0.4? Also, is the amount of time between when you leave for class and log back in more than 4 hours?

xZAOx

sometimes its that long. now it doesnt matter. apparently the one or two times it worked were just luck hehe. whenever i close this browser, i have to log in again.

ive had this problem ever since i came to this board, and i dont know when you upgraded, so since whenever my registration date ive been experiencing this problem.

To anyone who is still having login problems, try another browser like Mozilla 1.2.1 (http://www.mozilla.org) and let me know if you're still having problems.

I tried using Netscape instead, and I was able to login with no problems. Maybe it's just my IE browser. :ohwell:

Still having problems, even after I updated IE. Is this problem happening for any other IE users?
