You know, over the past several weeks, I've been noticing what a hottie she is after seeing certain pics of her on deviantART. I feel like there's not enough love for her. Anyone else feel like I do?

Haha poor Irma just looking for Mr. Right. I thought it was annoying watching her search for romance when I was younger but now when I watch the eps with Irma, I chuckle. She seemed to have a sick thing for mutant turtles.:ohwell:

God, I cant remember those episodes. But I thought Irma liked Don just because she thought his name was cute. But then when she met the real deal, she changed her mind about the whole mess!:ohwell:

I watched 50 Foot Irma again a few months ago. Felt bad for April picking on Irma about her diet. But hey, like she said, she managed to lose several thousand pounds over the course of the episode.

Irma was annoyingly one-note in her boy-craziness, and not long ago, people were dissing her pretty bad. If I knew someone like her, and I think I've known two or three actually, I'd befriend them. I just wouldn't date them. It's hardly flattering to date a girl who seems like she's only interested in you because she thinks she's supposed to be.

poor irma...she always comes off like a crazy chick still in junior high with all her boy-craziness, tho watching some of the older eps, she definitely gets some good lines:lol:

EEWWWWWW! true, but EEWWWWWW!
You know, if the girl would just get a new hairdo & ditch the huge glasses, she could be quite the looker...I think she secretly wanted to hook up with Vernon. Now there's a hottie!!!
Where's the Vernon love people???

He is & that is why he is awesome
I always wanted Irma or April to kick him in where it counts or ram a microphone up his nose...there was certainly enough room for it & it was always in the air :P

Hey Mike, how about a picture of April and Irma beating on Vernon??:D

There was a girl named Irma in my secondary school class who was horrendously boy-crazy. And she even looked like cartoon Irma.

I can be very annoying when I talk about being single. But Irma is beyond desperate. She seems to have no interest other than men. April is much cooler because she's a career woman.

Even as a kid I didn't like Irma. She was just irritating. And I thought she was pretty dang ugly, though now I wonder if it was just the '80s all over her. :P

Irma got my back up, even when I was 7. I mean, she must have been seriously horny to be that desperate for a man in her life.

I loved Irma. She was always good for a laugh and now as an adult I can't help but notice how naughty her character was. Her whole character just seemed like an inside joke.

And any way despite the fact that she wore frumpy clothes and bog rimmed glasses and wore her hair in a librarians bun, she was actually kind of cute. Seriously If she just put on some more flatering clothes she would be attractive. And I always got the vibe that there was an attraction between her and Donatello. I never under stood why all the turtles had at least one crush on the oppasite sex but not Donatello. And the thing is, in some episodes it seemed likw the writters where going for a slight thing between the two.

Any way I don't get why Irma didn't just hook up with Howie (the song writter guy from Name that Toon) it seemed like she liked him and he liked her and they looked good together. So I don't get why they didn't become boyfriend and girlfriend.

Donatello has a crush on April just like the rest of the gang.

However, he does not seem to have any other love interests in any of the TMNT universes.

And Leonardo just has Lotus- who appeared just in one episode.

Maybe it is for the better "is single"

Lotus Blossom was actually in two episodes: "BEWARE THE LOTUS" from the syndicated Season 3 and "FAREWELL, LOTUS BLOSSUM" from CBS's first batch of eps in Season 4. She was also mentioned in an ep or two; for certain in one of the Zach eps of Season 3.

Irma looks WAY too much like Jeanette the Chipette INDEED!

Today the image popped in my head while I was in the bathroom at work. I nearly cracked up laughing.

HOWEVER, I cannot accuse them of plagiarism. Why? Because Irma's personality is very different from Jeanette's. Jeanette actually had many interests and goals for herself. Irma only thinks about landing a man.

you see, Irma isn't bad looking. Just lose those square, thick, pink rimmed glasses and the dowdy hair doo and Irma would be quite the looker.

Maybe they shoukd have hooked Irma up with Vernon. The more i watch the cartoon the more i'm thinking that Vernon is more a metrosexual, than asexual like others tend to belive.

Scandia
05-17-2007, 04:43 AM
She's not ugly in any way. Nor is Jeanette. I did not get the impression that Vernon was asexual.

Last night I pondered another possibility regarding their image. I was a child during the 80s. But even though I'm a fashion plate now, back then I was not all that interested in clothes (except for perhaps in 1989 since I was already in 6th/7th grade). Hence I do not remember if what Irma and Jeanette are wearing was a trendy look back then. If it was, then there is no plagiarism or even basing one off the other.

Plagiarism is exaggerating a bit. If Irma is plagiarism, than so is Family Guy compared to The Simpsons.

Or family guy compared to almost anything. They spoof all kinds of stuff on FG. In one episode Peter's head turns into mickey mouse and he even says, "It should be illegal, like copyright infrigement."

Brilliant show. Love it love it love it

Anyway I don't see anything wrong with using a similar character design. Irma is so different than jeanette anyway.

Sorta OT: The Irma from my class is still boy-crazy. And she out of all people asked about my cosplay costumes. She acknowledged that my career (and possibly life) was much more interesting than hers.

This girl looked A LOT like Irma- but never wore glasses. And she was shorter than me, so I would have been the April. Except that April did not look Mediterranean. But I always was the career oriented one just like April O'Neil.

Overall, April is much easier to like than Irma. And I wonder if NT April would even be friends with someone like Irma period.

SassyGal
05-21-2007, 09:43 PM
I don't even know how OT April put up with Irma :D

Oh, well. Anything's better than Vernon :P

Oh my gosh!

I'm watching the Season 4 DVDs right now. Irma has some boyfriend (or at least male friend) named Howie who writes cheesy jingles.

Needless to say, I've been laughing my whole body off.

SassyGal
05-22-2007, 08:54 PM
just to remind you of one of Howie's best song, here is an excerpt:
Ninja turtles fighting all day long! Ninja turtles fighting to my song! Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight fight! Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight fight!

I love Howie the jingle writer :D

Howie is just so lame that I love him :P Irma totally should have hooked up with the little weenie. They would have been soooo cute together at their wedding...I am picturing her being so much more in love with him as he sings her some song he wrote just for her. Nerd love is just so touching! :D

Scandia
05-23-2007, 03:59 AM
And the alien's name was Irk. Probably because the Phantom of the Opera is named Erik.

Irma should have married Howie indeed. That way she would have had that need satisfied and the writers would have had room to show other sides of her personality.
