Just curious if anybody had any info on the now canned John Woo company cgi TMNT film? When this was announced a couple years ago I think everyone was wetting their pants on aint it cool news...a brooding dark and edgy TMNT film closer to the original book done in really cool cgi style?
The last thing I heard was the studios didnt think there was enough interest for it. Just curious if there was ever any screenshots, or concept art, or *anything* known about is. All I know was Corey Feldman was spose to do one of the voices(according to an interview from last year)

It never got off the table, The contract they had timed out. So nothing was produced, and therefore no screen shots exist.

aw, ok...well I spose that is better than if they had been half way intot he thign before getting canned. Still, one has to wonder what that would have been like...though I would love to see Square do a TMNT film in that ultra detailed Final Fantasy like look.

I don't know if there is official word on it, But if the TMNT becomes a success again, They will probably try to do a movie. But it seems that the Hallmark Tv movie is progressing, but it won't be CGI like it was said before.

I meant it won't be even hald CGI. In Laird's "Plast from the Past" he only said Haalmark Live action movie, and that they have models what the suits will look like.

Well Laird himself wrote that, so That is pretty much what it will be.

i was under the impression that the turtles would be rendered at least partially in cgi.....

Not sure, but it sounds logical...*if* the popularity comes back. Im in contact with someone from Jim Henson Creature Shop, and he said as far as he knew, his friends over at another creature effects company were handling the new TMNT live action thing...and so far no plans for a theatrical film. Though I just heard Neil Gaiman(sandman), Dave Mckean(all those cool sandman covers), and JHC CS are going to make a 'Labyrinth' type film called 'Mirror MAsk' so Im happy^_^
As for live actionw ith cgi??? Noooooo...anyone seen Rocky and Bulwinkle or Kangaroo Jack? Suits are the only way to go with TMNT in live action.

Anyone seen Lord of the Rings or Spider man? It could work perfectly. Besides as good the suits look in the first movie, It is clear that they limit the movements of the actors, and makes some cool moves impossible to perform.

The only problem I have with Spiderman (I loved the movie!!) is that when he was chasing after the carjacker, he moved very video-game-ish, and not as realistically as I would have liked.

Gollum is probably the most realistic looking computer generated character I've ever seen. Very well done and real looking. Anyway, I hope the new series is a success because not only could it lead to a new movie but it could lead to all or part of the original series on DVD.

Yeah I think its safe to say Gollum is hands down the most realistic cgi character ina live action film ever. I mean looking back at the Episode One dvd, I just had to shudder at all those Jar Jar scenes. *ugggh*
As for the original series on dvd...well I got the first video release(ie: the first episode) That's all I need from that!^_^(well that and the great arcade rom)
