so the old van is the same size as the new one eh? that's good. so now i don't really NEED to get it (although i might if the conditions are right)
now all i need is to find them :(
BigThew

no it is bigger...about 3 inches longer and maybe 2 inches wider
i don't think the new figures would fit very well in the old

Wow, that does look sweet! I saw it for $20 at target, hmm just might have to get it now. Heh, I hadnt seen that old van and ages, but seeing it next to that new one, ack! Very primitive, heh. Though I will say from what Ive seen the old TMNT lair playset looks cooler than the new one.

Woah, sweet find, BigThew! Where did your dad buy the armored car? I've looked everywhere for it, and I can't seem to find it. Btw, I like how you placed the original Turtle Van next to the new one. I can't believe how much detail the new stuff has.

one question . . . are the turtles shorter than shredder or are they the same size?
TMNT is cooler than MOTU

how come you opened your vehicles and not your action figures :-?

I never understood the notion of not opening figures...theres ways of doing it so you can slip them back in without any noticeable damage to the packaging. Figures are meant to be displayed, not in a package. Especially at $8.50 a head, thats a lot of money if were talking doubles to be bought just to open a set. So yeah, theyre meant to be played with or displayed! hehe

i opened my vehicles because i just needed to open something :D
i am keeping 2 sets...one to open one to keep in the packages...
the reason i keep them in the package is because they look great displayed and completely untouched, i want some to be displayed while the rest are out of the package, and i got my for 6 bucks a peice, that is 12 bucks for two figures...basically the same price i would pay for the McFarlane figures i buy, so it is really no loss

It is quite funny, that even though all the Targets in my areas are clean sould out of 5" figures, they still have all the vehicles and RPG toys.
I got the Shell Cycle the other day, which is the only wehicle I'm going to get. But I have plans for this bike.. not only is it going to be taken out of box, it's also going to be repainted! No matter to me, cause I don't see it as being THAT valuable.
I do have a couple of the original release TMNT still MOC anyway... cause they are just too plain wierd to play with anyway (not to mention a little old!)

Man, the original van looks so cheap now that I look back on it..
well I dont know, the scowling bumper IS kinda cute!
I bought one of the old vans at a garage sale last summer, it was totally worn and damaged but cute. It had a sticker on it that says "FOOT STINK!" i thought that was just the cutest thing EVER!

I wonder what happened to that guy who said he'd sell me one of his spare Turtle Vans. I e-mailed him twice and he never got back to me.

BigThew
02-01-2003, 10:56 AM
never been opened with visably no bends or tears in the packaging or the cardboard backing
Stone Ill
02-01-2003, 10:59 AM
Oh..ok..Why would you want it to be like that? Just open the damn things
BigThew

Only way to go? Why buy something and never open it and sell it 50 years later? You'd be lucky to still have them..Oh well, your choice.
Maybe I'm just saying this because I don't have much money?

I just got back from the local Target where I picked up the Battle Shell,Shell Cycle, and another Foot Soldier. The Battle Shell is very sweet, highly recommended!

i don't think the new figures would fit very well in the old
Probably not, the new figures can barely sit down as it is, & since they are taller then the old ones it'd be kinda cramped in there.
Does the Battle Shell have any other openings on it, or just the roof?

Knee articulation, or re-positioned hip joints. They'd be able to sit if the joints moved front to back & matched the legs. Like, look at the foot soldier- that guy can NEVER sit down, but Shredder can sit easily. ::shrugs::
Sucks about the roof only opening, it'd be cool if the side door opened like on the Turtle Van- minus the flip-out thingy that the turtle's sat on.

Ouch, that sucks dude. It would flip open when ever the roof would be opened I think, but it was a fragile piece of plastic that could easily be broken if bent in the wrong way.
Can you still open the roof to put the figures inside? :-?
