So, I found what Tokka had originally posted. If the article in question was going to really cause that much trouble amongst people here then they're obviously getting a lot more offended than the person interviewed in the article (who has every right to be offended).

That's all I'm going to say about it, though. If anyone wants to know what I'm talking about PM me and I'll give you the URL.

I don't think he's trying to be dramatic, he just wants to keep the peace.

It's a good article.

It's just a rehash by the same writer of something that was written back in March. Meh.

Just read the article and I don't see what was so bad about it. It was a decent read about good old ivey. Most of it was old news though.

wow, i wish i could spend money of things like that, i remember having a ninja turtle sleeping bag (with the bricks and all) and a plush raph (somewhere at home) and a few toys, i have all 4 trolls... i can't call myself a hardcore fan if i can't match something like that! :(

Quantity of crap(*) has absolutely no relation to your fandom status.

(*) Note that I say crap with the highest level of regard, as I have my own share of it.

Why would anyone be fighting over this article?

I think that they're worried about a fight because of how people feel about me. It's not an issue about the artical itself really. If it was any other fan, there wouldn't have been any question about posting it. *shrug*

Tony, I agree with Rose though. Fandom is not about the collection size or even being able to collect. It's about being a fan and careing about them, and everyone has their own way of being a wonderful fan! :)

Goongasnootch, I have to admit it's not the best story on me. And the writer even called saying sorry, his story was edited from what it originally was. Though both of us could see the view that Metro Times was pushing for with it, esp with the questions about "What items, would I take on an island with me." Yeah.. um, hehe not a normal question for someone who is only a fan/collector. So the answers to that was more of a joke, cause when I tried to answer with real stuff it was shifted saying 'no they want to hear more about this' and I tried very hard to discourage the use of the Turtle Heads in the story, but they said that's what the readers want. So this story isn't one I think is great or anything, but it's still better than "Totally Obsessed" and the old "Free Press" stories.

I understand, Ivey. Though for nothing nearly as national or serious, I was interviewed for the local paper in Terre Haute once for an article about college students who play Guitar Hero. I went from being a Junior from Indianapolis studying Japanese to do translation or teaching to a Senior from Denver who studies Marketing.

I guess I was too casual for what the readers wanted. I guess they wanted the "anyone can be a rockstar.. even super serious businessmen!" angle and I wasn't giving it to them.

To be honest, I'm still totally confused.

Duke, I saw it more as people saw the original VH1 video of her and went "ZOMG krraazzzyyy!!!11" and then when Ivey came on and told how the filming actually went people then became all like "ZOMG VH1 iz t3h sux!!!11"

Somewhere along the lines there was a mix-up and stuff got wild for a moment. I'm sure there's a long thread about it here somewhere.

Gimme names. I'll take care of 'em for ya'. I know a guy who has a friend who knows a guy who owes him money... Oh! And, he's Italian too... Not the guy I know, but the last one introduced into my explanation.

Meh, things could have gone a lot worse. Reporters are sleazy. *Glares at April* I wish I still had the tape of when I was on the local news. I'd find a way to upload that steaming pile of crap, and edit in all the **** they took out. A friend of mine was murdered...right behind the apartment building I was living in at the time. They took advantage of what I had to say. About him, about the neighborhood. I don't trust the media, they do not give a **** who they happen to make look bad. That's just NOT the way to go about forming opinions on anyone.

Well, I for one am in a total state of jealousy. I mean, I want all that crap*!

I personally felt the article wasn't all that bad, what with all tOkKa's worrying. (Admit it dude, you done that on purpose just to keep us all on the edge of our seats in anticipation as to see what it was, didn't ya! :D )

I wonder if Ivey'll employ us all to work in the turtle museum! Nah, i'd guess not, she'd probably worry to much about stuff going missing ;)

To be totally Honest once the Museum is really in the works and I start to hire people to work the Museum part, I'm going to be doing online apts to try and hire TMNT fans. It'd be nice to have people that love the job and can share not just their stories of what's in the Museum with the public, but their personal stories as well. So yes, TMNT fans will be hired down the road for the Museum, but I there's a long bit of time between than and now, first comes Turtle Con 2009, which is going to be a lot of work.
