Whatever floats your boat, but I hope you realize that you'll need either a region 4 or a region free DVD player. Or, if you're going to watch it on your computer, you'll need a program to get around the foreign region thing.
This is assumming of course that you don't live in Australia or its surrounding islands (including New Zealand), Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, or South America.

It's not missing the first episode of that season (it's missing the 6th episode but that was cancelled in mid-production so it won't be on the US set either unless they put a partly produced version on as a special feature).
What it is missing is the Season 4 finale which acted as a pilot to The Lost Season. This isn't on the US Season 4 DVDs either but is likely to be on the US Lost Season set whenever 4Kids decide to eventually release it. If you've seen that episode (Ninja Tribunal) then you'll understand everything just fine. Though you will have to buy the US Lost Season DVDs when they eventually get released if you want that episode on DVD.

I'm waiting for the set to be released with the Ninja Tribunal episode just because if I buy it sooner than that I'll have to rebuy 12 episodes to get the only 1 that I need.
Target sells a DVD player for about $30 that can be remote hacked to play all regions and PAL format discs. It's fabulous.

The US distributor would make MUCHO DINERO if they released the Lost Season on DVD already. Many TMNT geeks started out watching the OT. Which means that now we have jobs and money. And buying power.
Bring it on, 4kids (or whoever is in charge of doing so). No fair that the Aussies should get it first.
We cannot just watch them on thoucylinder forever, you know.

Well... "Ninja Tribunal" was shown as the 'Finale' of Season 4, but (as you make note) it's pretty obvious it's actually the start of the Lost Season.

To get this to happen, FUNimation needs to get the word from 4Kids to throw it out there.
The best thing I can think of is for someone with a MySpace to go to http://www.myspace.com/funimation and get whatever info you can as to what needs to be done to get TLS on DVD.

I added them AND messaged them asking about them. I said a lot of us had the means to afford it and thus sales would be highly profitable.

It's not about the money I'd think. It's about the demand. I don't see how Austalia would have more demand than the US, but I guess that's why I'm not in that business lol

Well, they messaged me back. Here is what they said:
Hey there!
We are distributing the title for 4Kids so it's up to them on what they will release. If they are willing to release it we'll get it on shelves! :)
I wonder if to write to 4Kids. It is not the first time I have written someone trying to get something released. I have tried (successfully) to bring the Fox network to where I lived. And (unsuccessfully) to get certain dub names. I do not want to start a campaign- although I think it has been started already.
But 4Kids WILL be hearing for me. I have PURCHASING POWER!!!!!

I so want to see the lost season on DVD + the Ninja Tribunal. Hopefully they will announce something soon. The wait is killing me. Had to watch the whole season off youtube. The quality sucked but at least TMNT now feels a bit more complete.

could you tell me which player this is? I went last night and came across a bunch that didnt have the region 1 logo on the box but wasn't sure if that meant they were all region...
also are there any special features on the aussie dvds that aren't on the discs released here in the states?

If you have a China Town near by they usually sell Region Less players everywhere. Also usually under $90.

Ok so any guesses? When will the Lost Season be released on DVD in North America?

If the episodes air next Spring then I'd say summer 2008 should have a 2-DVD/13 episode set (including Ninja Tribunal) which leaves Spring and Fall for Season 2 Parts 1 and 2.

Skip the Aussie DVD it's worthless. It's missing an episode and you can't use any good DVD players to watch it you need to do some region code crap. I know it's easy but it's a waste of time and money to do that for just one DVD.
Just wait till around March next year and I bet it'll come out on DVD in the US, with way better artwork*If the trend continues* and I'm sure it'll only be 11-15 bucks. Better then buying it with that exchange rate(Which if I remember correctly is like 1 dollar is half a dollar there), paying for international shipping, and then paying another 10 bucks for the player.
But... nobody was talking about the Aussie DVD. :tcouch:

I went ahead and bought the Aussie DVD- but I had already adjusted my computer so that it was region-free. I have watched the French version of Rose of Versailles on my computer thanks to this. It is missing an episode- but at least I get to see the other episodes big instead of the size they are on ThouCylinder.

Guess you hadn't realized -- the screen at 'ThouCylinder' can be expanded (filling the computer screen).

Nope. I had no idea. Thanks for letting me know. I have made two music videos and put them there.
