View Full Version : Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers
Did anyone ever watch this show? I use to watch it all the time. I remember coming home from school (in 2nd grade) I would watch Power Rangers and eat Pop-Tarts. I had forgotten about the show until I saw it on ABC Family today. It actually brought back some good memories. I've seen about 3490342 other Power Ranger shows on, but they all look dumb. Nothing like the original. The sad part is though, after seeing MMPR today, I realized how much of my childhood possesions are gone. I actually kind of miss this show now. Just thought I would share that.
PS. You kids out there (I'm 16) enjoy your childhood while you can, because when it's gone it sucks! ahahah jk it doesn't suck, but it is sure a lot better when you're younger in my opinion.

Yep, I loved that show, still watch the new incarnations, some are good some suck. 2004 new dinozords. I admit PR is an accquired taste, you have to have an appreaciation of campiness (hell I primarily watch it for the godzilla moments.) But if nothing else the did give us the KING

The Green Ranger > All!
Yeah, I watched it until Jason, Zach, and Trini left the show.

Power Rangers, along with Barney in 1993 was truly the decline of Western Civilization. Thank goodness I didnt have that growing up!
Though now its even worse...Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, Card Captor? No wonder so many folks hate anime! LOL
I agree Power Rangers requires a taste for extreme campiness, which is why I still watch it. Not "sit in front of the TV with my eyes glued to the set" watching, but "there's nothing else on TV so I might as well have it on while I'm doing other things" watching.
And I agree, the original Green Ranger rocked.

I loved the original series. The best part was that all the monsters were actually creative, unlike how they are now (they all look like big brown pieces of poop! )
Once the main original characters left,so did I. It was good while it lasted. :)
Childhood is a precious thing that shouldn't be wasted. Everything I do still is connected to my childhood (I'm also 16),TMNT,Star Wars,Ghostbusters,HE-Man,Marvel...

I remember watching it for the first time. It was the first time they ever aired it. First episode. It was entertaining, and pretty cool. Campy, but cool. But hell I was like 4 then so what better would I know? It was a good show till they start gettin into Z force and power crystals and what not. Then it just got down right stupid.

I never liked Power Rangers, I watched "Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad" I guess thats one of the reasons I like Ultraman so much, SSSS's hero Servo (Gridman in the Japanese version, which I think sounds cooler) was inspired by Ultraman.

Yeah, I do recall seeing a few episodes in 1993 but quickly go bored of its kiddy campyness. I mean I likd Ultraman and godzilla, but man!
And I apologize for all the TMNT ripoff posts...nothing had more ripoffs than MMPR...a horrible show to begin with.
I remember when I was little seeing it somewhere(one of the early 80's foreign PR shows) and thought it was lame back then. Never though a decade later itd be brought here and made the biggest thing since sliced bread. Sadly, PR still takes up toy shelf space at stores. Oh the horror!
...ok, well I thought the original Japanese Kaiman Rider rocked, heh.

I watched the first couple of PR seasons... Then I lost interest as the cast constantly rotated.
I lost interest after the original red, yellow, and black rangers left. The new ones weren't the same. Now on another note, there is a cool episode of PR Wild Force you can get off Kazaa called "Red Forever". It features every Red Power Ranger ever, joined together to fight. The only notable ones in my opinion, are Jason (The Original Red Ranger) and Tommy (Green Ranger/White Ranger/Zeo Red Ranger). Nice to see J and T again. I hope there is a reunion one day, with all the original rangers. I can't see this happening though, because of www.amyjojohnson.com :D

It can't happen, not cause of AJJ, It can't happen because trini died in a car crash
and considering Disney is now picking up the check, I wouldn't put anything out of the question. Hell if disney follows the Hurricangers story line the 6th will be multiple people from the past seasons (now sure how that works either)

Power Rangers, along with Barney in 1993 was truly the decline of Western Civilization.A-FRIGGIN'-MEN!!!!!!!!
But, for the LAST time, beaker; I don't like anime PERIOD! Whether you're talking about that goofy kids stuff, DBZ, Akira, whatever...it's the style of animation that I don't like...
And don't even start on that, "Then why do you want to see this new TMNT show?" I guess I didn't clarify in the past that to me "anime" is just Japanese animation PERIOD, but it's a BRANCH OF Japanese animation. In other words, it can be Japanese animated but not "anime". That stuff I don't mind. It's the "anime" style that you see in all of these M-rated games and such...knowhatimean?
Oh well, I didn't come here to start an argument, so I'll shut up.

Yeah, I've heard the same thing about the actress who played the Yellow Ranger. Haven't seen any official news on it, though.
I saw the episode "Forever Red." It was pretty cool seeing the older Red Rangers.

The 'singer chick' is the original Pink Ranger thats why
And yes the woman who played Trini really is dead, she has been for a few years now, I don't have the offical report or anything but its fact. The closest to an original reunion we could do is mid 2nd-3rd season cast.
But with the 2004 series on the horizan, and the new Dinozords, the old team may some how come back. Not to mention that a major ep mile ston is comeing up (something like ep 1000) so a mega blow out show may come. I'm hoping massive team up of 2+ rangers from each season or forever 6th.
