If you get past some lame questions and mis-information from Newsarama (Jack Black? Ouch.. sorry Jake :/ ) there's some some good information to be pulled from Murphy from this interview.

Probably the best tidbit is that they're at least trying to put together a deal to get the new collected books into bookstores. It sounds like this deal would involve coloring the books - Most interesting! And perhaps there is hope for my dreams of a colored Forever War. :D

Its unfortunate the tone Murphy has with the future of Mirage is "murky," especially the last paragraph. And this confirms they still didn't greenlit a movie sequal.

On the bright side, at least we're getting a Michelangelo mini-series after all in 2008, leaving only Donatello left, and we're getting a whole 'nother year of Tales. And I'm glad the new cartoon will be still going, can't wait till they announce the new direction/summary of it.

But man, they really gotta figure out how to better promote the comics. Why does Laird keep the publishing team down to only two people?

Unfortunate, yet. But surprising? Not really.

I think this is the ultimate question (not to mention that the person in charge of publishing, be it Murphy now or Dan soon, is not even dedicated to that full-time). Murphy mentions that the comics are the guts from which most story material is taken (which is very true), yet Mirage - oh forget it, I mean Peter - doesn't seem to be doing anything to ensure that comic stories continue to be told. Yes, it's great that Tales is continuing through at least 2008, but it all goes back to the stuff I've been complaining about endlessly for months. There needs to be a continuing TMNT comic and it can't be Vol. 4. The old issues need to be reprinted so that you can buy them easily and at a reasonable price. And so on, and so on...
