Well, I just received the Tales Volume 1 comics that I won on Ebay. But I am still happy that it has been published.
I saw Tales Volume 2 Collected Book 3 today at the comic book store. But I do not remember which ones I have at home so I did not buy it.

You know I'm buying this! I love collected books. Now all I've gotta do is find the book for Volume III (Image).
Hey, does anyone know what issues are going to be collected in the new Tales II books?

Even though I own all the individual issues, I'll be getting this.
I hope it also includes the Nobody back-up story that was included in the old TPB collection, since I've never read that and I'm dying to get ahold of it.

Well it's got something you and I where complaining about before so it's worth getting to me for the new story. Something they used to do that made collected books worth getting. I'm happy they're doing this again.
This to me is a step in the right direction.

I really like the cover actually. I know a lot of people knock Lawson's newer work. I myself don't mind it, but I do think a good toning/coloring makes it look ten times better than if it was just inked.
I'm kinda curious as to what's happening on the back cover. If I had to guess, I'd say it's the Prince of Thieves and/or the Giant Idol.

I like the cover. I'm guessing it will be a wrap around cover? I like Lawson's work too, but his TMNT aren't my favorite style of TMNT personally.

Yeah, I use a credit card for as much as I can. Mostly because I hate carrying around cash all the time and it gets me rewards points. :D But I never spend more than what I have in my checking account. This way I build up rewards points without having to pay interest. And in the event that there is an emergency or whatever (like my car exploding), the credit card brings peace of mine.

I tend to agree, save for big investments like a college education, automobile, or home. I've heard way too many horror stories about people being in debt because they can't handle the responsibility of the Visa and Master Card. But there's nothing wrong with using credit, you just need to know how to control the beast to do your bidding.

Or you could just have a checking acount like I do which is the money you put into the acount...
Well, I have a checking account too, but it pretty much acts as a buffer for bills and an intermediate repository for money before it goes into my savings. Like I said, I use my credit card purely to rack up rewards points. I made $250 in less than a year that way. Not a whole lot of money, I know, but it's a nice little bonus when you get it.
The thing I hate about using a Checking Account Debit Card-and one of the reasons I don't use it on principle-is that a lot of times cashiers will try to use debit instead of credit without asking in an attempt to save some money and try to get you billed an extra 50 cents or something. I hate that. :x I got nailed with that so many times when I got my first checking account. Took me a bit to catch on before I realized what was happening. Of course you can just tell them "Credit" but if you're using a credit card anyway they don't have much of a choice. Of course a lot of them still ask.
Why is debit even an option anymore?! No one in their right minds would want to be charged to make a purchase. It's just a way to pilfer money from unsuspecting saps. And every debit card I've ever seen is a fully functioning "credit card" that just withdrawls from the checking account. Actually the real reason banks do it is a bit more malicious. Banks get more money from businesses via "credit purchases" so it's an incentive for consumers to not use debit.
But we're getting way off topic at his point, heh.
So...can't wait for that Tales Volume 1 huh? :D
I couldn't help but notice that the cover says, "Eastman and Laird's." Wasn't there a discussion a while back where someone noticed that Laird was putting his name infront of Eastman's?
And thanks for posting the cover + info BTW.

I bought my Collected Book 3 and Soul's winter from there.
Collected book 1 and 2 is out of stock...Book 1 is completely out of stock but they said they would tell me when they obtained more collected book 2 books.
I will surely get future TMNT tpbs from PaneltoPanel
And are there anyone here who knows where i can find Tales of TMNT Collected Book 1. Maybe it might be present at a site :) Tho it is out of stock everywhere - even at Mirage's store - also buying from mirage internationally is really pain, there is not even PayPal, you have to order via old school mail, send the payment that way, etc...

Haven't seen the 2007 version on eBay for a while, but the 1989 version is currently going for less than a fiver right now:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Collected-Tales-Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-TMNT-TPB-/180613554098?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a0d681fb2
A lot of TMNT trades seem to be in a price decline on eBay at the moment. A bunch of Tales Vol. 2 trades, which were previously going for astronomical amounts, are all under MSRP at the moment.
Might be a lull in the aftermarket TMNT trade paperback boom.

Yeah, I honest-to-God lucked up on it about five days of actively searching for it. Some dude posted it on his new blogsite when I stumbled across it. I paid $9 dollars for the book and shipping worked out to $6 bucks so $15 total. This was this past November. Wild pointed me to the '89 Collected Tales, which I believe was about $15-$20.

I think most of the Mirage collections from that time period are pretty obscure.
My general advice when pricing something without a comp available is to price it at what it's worth to you. Are you happy with $50? Take $50. Or, if you're more patient, you can list it for $200 and see if you get any bites.

I agree 100%. They’ve done some awful things with the colors. The clones look completely stupid and it drives me nuts that sometimes they’ll actually color on top of the ink lines. They kept coloring red on top of Zog’s eyes. They didn’t even give the red a sharp outline. The worst part is Neca keeps coloring their figures based off of the color classics instead of the original colors. Another thing about Zog is Jim Lawson kept his model extremely consistent on every page. That means one of the arms always had a sleeve down to the wrist. You can always see the ends of his clothing and the tones are different on the fabric than on his skin. Whenever the people colored the issue they kept changing how the arms were colored. Even on the same page they didn’t color the arms consistent between clothing and skin tone. They did a piss poor job. Anyway because of that Neca made the arm wrong.

It's stuff like that that made the Vol. 3 reprints all the more surprising. They did an excellent job with the colors there. It actually made the art better in some places than the original, which in a few spots was a little hard to discern.

Judging value on Mirage TMNT comics in the aftermarket these days seems to be completely unhinged; I dunno what to make of it anymore.
Volume 1 issues with 80,000 copy print runs that were dollar bin books for decades, like TMNT 8 or the River Trilogy issues, etc., now seem to regularly go for like $20 or more (sometimes way more). They aren't rare, never were rare, but the understanding now seems to be that "if it's a black and white TMNT comic from the 80s then it must be worth a lot of money so price it as such".
Meanwhile, the 2000s era Mirage stuff that had very low print runs and poor availability, like Volume 4 and Tales Volume 2, often still sell for cover price. I guess because they aren't old even though they're Mirage? Or perhaps because there isn't demand for 2000s era Mirage stuff the way there is for 80s Mirage stuff, so price gouging doesn't work as well on those. The only 2000s era Mirage stuff I've see go for big bucks are the final 4 issues of Volume 4 that were only sold through the Mirage website, and sometimes the last handful of Tales Volume 2 of the seller knows what they've got.
There just doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the pricing of Mirage back issues anymore. Demand certainly plays a factor, but the aftermarket is NEVER gonna run out of TMNT 8s or 23s so seeing every seller copying each other's homework and jacking those up to $40 is crazy.
So with all that being ranted, I would say that even if the Tales Treasury Edition made its way onto the aftermarket, it'd either go for a a fortune because it's rare and has exclusive content never reprinted, or you can get it for a steal because the seller doesn't know that and sees it as just another 2000s era reprint.
I'm not being helpful at all, but there's just no logic to the TMNT back issue pricing game anymore.

I bought both, the first version just yesterday, only for the exclusive stories, and so I could have them in black and white. It didn't set me back too many bones. The original was only 27 dollars, and I wanna say that I got the other one for no more than 50 dollars. It probably wasn't even that much.
