What is the most amount of money you would spend on a TMNT collectible and what would it be? Or if you have that collectible already what was it?
I always question if I should limit myself so I wonder where everyone else stands.

The most I've spent on any one thing is $250 on a comic book. I think there are a couple other comics/books that I've spent either $100 or just over $100 on. And one piece of art that was $100...

I wouldn't go more than $50 on regular items, unless it was some sort of movie prop then I would probably pay more..

unless it was Raph's coat, hat & sai from TMNT1- no much more than $50-60ish.

I borrowed money against my car title to buy the blank from Dick Tracy (I think I paid around 300.00 for her) so i'm pretty crazy :D Of course the only thing that I would do that again for would be the prototype for the Wednesday Addams figure from Playmates short lived Addams Family line. Since getting the Blank, Wednesday is now my holy grail. I doubt she even exists anymore though. :ohwell:

If it was a AFA 95 MOC figure, maybe $50 at most, an AFA 95 MIB vehicle $85 at most :D

I've spent $100 on a few things... probably the most I spent was about $112 for a piece of original art. I will probably end up spending more than that on issue 1 when/if I get it.

I've spent...money I can afford on buying comics. And now the chance has popped up to get all of volume 1 for a very reasonable price. I'm worried about duplicates mainly due to lack of space- but I can always hand them out at programs.
Though I can afford this and all of my hobbies, I probably should be saving the money to purchase a condo and to finance next year's trip to Scandinavia. I may refer to myself as stingy, but I am nothing compared to some of my relatives who are total misers.

I spent £200 on this piece of art here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/7722255@N06/449981510/in/set-72157600054762907/).
It was totally overpriced, but to me it was worth it, just because it was from the UK Teenage Mutant 'Hero' Turtles comic, an original painting and about twice the size as a normal original comic art page...
I've also spent a small fortune on other pieces of original art, but that's the daddy of them all. And the comics (got most of 'em now!), MOC figures and other random bits n bobs i've collected must also add up to quite a bit, but since they were mostly bought over a space of a few years, the blow hasn't been quite so bad as that one piece of art....

I would probably spend up to $50 on a single item, I don't think I would spend more.

Yeah..I always have a little extra $ on the side. But also, I don't spend money on collectibles very often, so when I do I can spend a little more. For instance, I've only bought about 2 tmnt items this year so far totalling $68, and I've sold about 50 items.
I know how college is. I'm out of college but in debt to my eyeballs with school loans..hence the limited collectible spending.

Damn, man. Talk about a think fast situation. How could you pass up the first issue/first printing for only $400?! But like you said, you don't always have an extra $400 lying around. I'd probably make the sacrifice.
I brought the original arcade a few years back and got it for $500. I was also able tp pick it up because the guy lived around my neighborhood. I couldn't let that go. I managed to persuade my brother to go half with me so technically I only paid $250. The arcade was a lot bigger than I remembered from back when I was a kid. Talk about a helluva time moving that montrosity of an arcade. I love it like a child though.

Yeah...well the thing is..I have college loans, rent, car payment, etc. etc. which come first. So $400 out of nowhere is something I wasn't prepared for.
I spent about an hour trying to figure out how I could get this and pay the rest of my bills then it went. All of the sudden the decision was easy.
Love that old arcade game....I think there were two versions of that one...a two-player and a four-player, which is really wide....

I've paid a few outrageous prices on the Bay to complete my TMNT collection. I paid 70 for Drako. 50 for Quarry. I guess it's just a matter of that collecting bug biting you, and you HAVE to have that one item. I think everyone has at least one toy/comic/poster/something that they have paid more than they should have. It's like a right of passage lol.

back when gen 1st came out i was in frenzy to get him . $50+s/h on e-bay.
the thing that really suct about the whole thing is that , and i sh*t you not , the day after i got i went to wal-mart and target and got 3 gens that day for the normal $5 each. i was pissed . i bought all 3 just to be a d*ck so no one else could have them ,and hopefully one day get my $50 back and then some from that fickle whore named e-bay.

OMG!!! I have done the same thing. There was an exclusive Star Trek figure that I paid 50 for, then like 2 weeks later it showed up EVERYWHERE for 15 dollars. I was upset.

I just spent a total of £60 (about $120) on the vol 1 collected books 1-6. Don't know what printing they are, but they are in beautiful condition. One even came in a plastic bag :D
I don't think I would spend that much again. I really wanted those vol 1 comics and probably would have spent a bit more if necessary. I've spent a lot on dvds - probably totalling a couple of hundred by now.
Toy wise though: £6.99 for each turtle movie figure and that is it. I have no desire to increase my collection beyond the 4 turtles that I have. Although I do love them dearly :)

I spent more than I should have picking up all the TMNT 2k7 movie figures. I have the 4, Splinter, Casey, Karai, April, Max, Spider + Jersey Devil, Vampire, Foot Ninja, and the 4 stone Generals.
I would highly recommend Splinter, just to complete the 'family'.

I'd spnd what it takes for something truely turtlerific, like original artwork or unproduced action figure protos...
I'd spend a big wad of cash on any Japanese items, especially the model kit someone posted a year or so back and the manga based off the show episodes.
But then again, i'm constantly broke, so I don't even have any of the Movie toys that didn't come from McD's or Family Dollar yet...

The most I ever spent was 600 on my Hot Spot Wax Scuplt.
but it's a one of a kind kinda thing... so it was worth it to me.

Just be careful of autographs & movie posters (US posters that are faked : SW , Indy , Jaws , Pulp Fiction , Taxi Driver etc....vintage ones were almost always factory folded until around mid 90s)
$40 on an import Turtle Saint figure (http://www.scary-crayon.com/misc/unveiling/).
By the way, how much is TMNT #1 worth? You guys are acting like $400 is a steal, but I probably wouldn't pay more than $20 for it... :P

I've collected a bunch of the Japanese TMNT figures but never managed to get the Saint.
TMNT #1 usually sells for around $800-1200.
